Abstract

This article examines the effect of the pattern of parenting conducted by parents early childhood's emotional intelligence. The research was conducted using correlational quantitative research methods through distributing questionnaires to 23 parents and students of the Permata Hati Play Group in Dungus Village, Cerme District, Gresik in the period from January 14 to March 16 2020. The findings have revealed there is a significant influence between the patterns of parenting on emotional intelligence of early childhood in Play Group of Permata Hati. In this regards, the three distinct parenting styles used by parents, that is authoritarian, permissive, or authoritative, have affected the early childhood's emotional intelligence. Additionaly, there are 12 students were raised by an authoritarian parenting style from their parents, 6 students raised by a permissive parenting style, and 5 students raised through an authoritative parenting strategies.

Abstract

Physical motor is one of the areas of development in early childhood education. Pletokan game is one of the games associated with the process of physical motor development. This study discusses the effectiveness of traditional pletokan games in improving the gross motor skills of children in group B at TKM NU 169 Khubbul Wathon Cerme Gresik. Using the classroom action research (CAR) method, the results have revealed that the role of pletokan game in developing gross motor skills of children in Group B TKM NU 169 Khubbul Wathon Cerme Gresik is regarded succesful. It can be seen from the observation sheet for gross motor skills that traditional game of pletokan in the first cycle (61%) and in the second cycle (86%). Additionally, the children's playing ability is very good, that is 0% in the first cycle, then increase to 57.1% in the second cycle.

Abstract

This article discusses the effectiveness of using the method of singing the song “Tebak Aku” in improving students' understanding about vowels letter for early child aged 3-4 years in KBIP Al-Muchlisin Gresik. This study uses a quantitative research experiment, namely one group pre-test and post-test design. In order to test the hypothesis whether or not there is a significant increase in the ability to recognize vowels before and after using the method singing the song “Tebak Aku”, this research utilises t-test for analysing the data. The findings have revealed that there is a significant increase in children's ability with regard to recognise vowels before and after using the method of singing the song "Tebak Aku". It can be seen from the result of the pre-test and post-test which has denoted that the score of Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) is 0.002 smaller than 0.05 as well as the result of the observational analysis that the average pre-test score is 51.26, while the average post-test score is 84.39. In addition, this teaching method is also able to motivate children aged 3-4 years to be decipline, active, responsive as well as able to to attract their interest in learning vowels letters.

Abstract

This article reports on a study of the research and development (R&D) model regarding the development of instructional media called snakes and ladders game to foster early childhood (4-5 years old) logical thinking skills conducted at Kindergarten Oxford Puri School PPS Manyar Gresik. Using the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) promoted by Dick and Carry and descriptive quantitative analysis, the results of this study state that the game media "the snakes and ladders" is suitable for instructional media in order to stimulate and develop logical thinking skills for the early childhood. Indeed,  the validity of the media "the snakes and ladders" has revealed the "very good" category with a score of 81 (81%) reviewed by the material experts, the "very interesting" category with a score of 96 (96%) obtained from the media experts, and the category "very interesting" with score of 88 (88%) obtained from the learning practitioner experts. In addition, the trials of the products has illustrated that "the snakes and ladders" game is able to stimulate and develop children's logical thinking from "starting to develop" to "developing as expected".
