Abstract

Abstrak: This research aimed to know difference of the students motivation science learning by application of learning by science integration and religion approach to increase students motivation physics learning on force and acceleration lesson. This type of research is quasi experimental, with the nonequivalent control group design. The subject of this ini research is students class VIII at SMPN 5 Pekanbaru, total of 60 students as divide into two class, experimental class and control class. The instrument of data in this research is questionare motivation ARCS, consist of Attention, Relevance, Confidance dan Satisfaction. The data in this research is a score of motivation before and after learning physics by implementation science integration approach and religion and analysis of the data uses descriptive analysis. Then, measured the improvement of the students motivation by Independent Sampel T Test. Score motivation of students at experimental class in high category with average score motivation changing is 13,66%, and the control class in the high category with average score motivation changing is 4,22%. Therefore, it can be concluded that by using science integration and religion approach able to improve students motivation physics learning.Key Words: Science integration and religion approach, Motivation.

Abstract

Pembelajaran biologi akan menjadi lebih bermakna jika menggunakan bahan ajar yang kontekstual yang tidak hanya menekankan pada penguasaan konsep saja, namun juga kepada melatih siswauntuk mengaplikasikan konsep yang diperolehnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk pengembangan lembar kerja siswa (LKS) berbasis discovery untuk pembelajaran biologi SMA pada topik struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan mengadaptasi model 4D. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan lembar validasi oleh ahli materi, ahli media, dan guru mitra; lembar respon siswa oleh 12 orang siswa kelas XII; dan tes hasil belajar 25 siswa XI IPA 3. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa LKS yang dikembangkan tergolong sangat baik. Nilai kelayakan LKS oleh ahli materi (84%), media (98%), guru mitra (85,3%), dan respon siswa (85,8%). Simpulan penelitian ini bahwa LKS berbasis discovery pada topik struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan berhasil dikembangkan dan layak digunakan sebagai alternatif bahan ajar biologi. Learning biology would be more meaningful if teacher use a contextual teaching materials which not only emphasizes the mastery of concepts, but also train students to apply the concepts. The purpose of this study was to describe the development of student worksheet (LKS) based discovery activity on the structure and function of plant tissues topic. This type of research is the research and development by adapting the 4D model of Thiagarajan. Data was collected using sheets validation by subject matter experts, media specialists, and biology teachers; student response sheet by 12 students of class XII; and 25 student achievement test XI IPA 3. Based on the survey results revealed that the feasibility of LKS by subject matter experts (84%), media (98%), teacher partners (85.3%), and the response of the students (85.8%) already classified as very good. Thus, it can be concluded that the discovery-based worksheets on the topic of the structure and function of plant tissue is fit for use as a biological alternative teaching materials.

Abstract

Abstract : This study was aimed to determine the improvement of students’ cognitive learning outcomes by applying assignment and recitation method. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 5 Pekanbaru from January to February 2018. Two groups of samples were choose from homogeneous classes. Quasi experiments in the form of intact group comparison was used in this study. The data was obatained from cognitive learning result test which consisted of 15 items of multiple choice. Descriptive and inferential analysis were used for data analysis. Based on descriptive analysis, the average of students’ absorption ability in the experimental class was 80,19% and 73,53% for control class, this indicated that the effectiveness of student learning in experiment class was higher than in the control class. Based on inferential analysis through independent sample t test sig value. (2-tailed) = 0.026 < 0.05 was obatained. This mean that there was a significant increase in students’ learning result. Thus it can be concluded that the use of assigment and resitation method can enhance student’s learning outcomes in XI class SMA Negeri 5 Pekanbaru on indication of global warming material.Keywords : assignment and recitation method, cognitive learning outcomes, global warming material

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the contribution media based learning on traditional culture equipment on motivation and misconceptions of students. The method used is a quasi-experiment research was conducted in Kampar Junior High Schools of 121 students. Data Analysis that used is descriptive and inferential analysis. Based on the results of data analysis showed that the contribution of the media based learning on traditional culture equipment for increased motivation and to lower the misconception. This shows the media based learning on traditional culture-equipment can improve motivation and can reduce misconceptions of students.

Abstract

Science learning outcomes such as science process skills and attitudes toward science are still important issues in science education. In this study the researchers tried to get a picture of the students' learning outcomes to get input on the learning process of science in the coastal area. As an initial study of the development of maritime-based contextual science learning media, the purpose of this research is to know the extent of science process skill level, attitude toward science, and academic achievement of students in coastal area. There were 114 students of the 8th grade of four lower secondary schools in Merbau Island participated as respondents in this study. Instruments used in data collection are science process skills tests and attitude toward science questionnaires for lower secondary school students. The results showed that 8th grade lower secondary school students in Merbau Island had high attitude toward science. On the contrary, the science process skills and academic achievement of their science are relatively low.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop high order thinking skills  workheet in momentum, impulse, and collision topic for senior high school This type of research is Research and Development  follow 4D models, includes : define, design, develop and disseminate. Data collection instruments used validation sheets for given to 5 validator, Aspects assessed include graphic, presentation, language, and the contents of workheet. Based on the result of data analysis showed that all aspects got average score in the range of 3.4 to 4 with categories of  very high. Thus, high order thinking skills was valid. For the purposes of testing the worksheet is given on 68 students. to measure the effectiveness of worksheet used  Higher Level Thinking Ability Test that amounts to 12 items. Based on the result of data analysis indicate, There is difference of higher order thinking skill of students who use HOTS worksheet than who are not use HOTS worksheet, where the average Higher Order Thinking Skill on students who use HOTS worksheet higher

Abstract

In order for science learning to be interesting and beneficial for students, science instructions must be oriented to the students daily environment. One way to link science instruction with the surrounding environment is by showing the application of scientific concepts to the appropriate technology. For students who live and study in coastal areas, the application of the concept of science should be linked to the sea that they observe every day. In this study a set of science learning media has been developed in the form of sea-wave power plant model. This model is designed so that it can visualize the process of using sea waves to produce electrical energy in the small scale. Expert assessment shows that the model of sea-wave power plant is declared valid so, it is suitable to be used as an instructional media for junior high school in science learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the practicality of a twisting modulus of elasticity experimental device along with student worksheets as a medium of learning physics. The method used as a Research and Development (R & D) with Borg and Galls development model at the stage of preliminary test called a test of practicality. Descriptive analysis of the data obtained by filling the questionnaire score an average yield of every aspect the practicality of using a Likert scale ratings. The results showed that the assessment teachersof experimental device about the shear modulus obtained 3.67 is very high category and 3,77 is high by student. The Results of research on student worksheet as an experimental using obtained 3.77 and 3.30 with very high category by teachers and students. So it can be concluded that the experimental device and student worksheet is practical as a medium of learning physics

Abstract

Analysis Of Student Higher Order Thinking Skills In Solving Physics Examination. This study aims to determine the percentage of national physics exam questions that were categorized Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and to know the ability of high-level thinking students. The method that was used in this research is descriptive research. The subjects of this study are 129 students of MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru. The data obtained in this study was percentage of Physics 2016 with HOTS category that was analyzed using indicator problems according to Thomas & Thorne is 15%, and data analysis of students high thinking ability on the matter of national exam physics obtained through student answers in answering the questions with the percentage of students able to answer 46%. Based on the data analysis can be concluded that the national exam of physics is able to measure the ability to think high-level students who average were categorized as low average.
