Abstract

ABSTRACT Coal mining can have positive and negative impacts on the environment. The positive effects include providing new employment opportunities and increasing regional income as well as foreign exchange. In comparison, negative consequences could be the changes in the environment's quality and sustainability, caused by the formation of ex-mining pits and acid mine drainage, which reduce the quality of surrounding soil and water. This study aimed to determine the water quality of the ex-mining ponds at the Antasena Pit, Satui Mine, Kintap District, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan. This research measured the ponds' water quality directly on site. Meanwhile, the water samples were taken and analyzed in the laboratory. The laboratory analyzes showed that, in general, the physicochemical and biological parameters were under Class 1 Water Quality Standards of the Government Regulation Number 82 the Year 2001 on Water Quality Management and Water Pollution Control. Keywords : coal mining, ex-mining ponds, pond water quality   ABSTRAK Penambangan batubara dapat memberikan dampak positif dan negatif terhadap lingkungan. Dampak positif tersebut antara lain membuka lapangan kerja baru dan meningkatkan pendapatan daerah serta devisa negara. Sedangkan dampak negatifnya adalah terjadinya perubahan kualitas dan kelestarian lingkungan akibat terbentuknya lubang bekas tambang dan timbulnya air asam tambang yang menurunkan kualitas tanah dan air di sekitarnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas air kolam bekas penambangan di Pit Antasena, Tambang Satui, Kecamatan Kintap, Kabupaten Tanah Laut, Kalimantan Selatan. Kualitas air kolam diukur langsung di lokasi dan sampel air diambil dan dianalisis di laboratorium. Analisis laboratorium menunjukkan bahwa secara umum parameter fisika-kimiawi dan biologi telah sesuai dengan Standar Kualitas Air Kelas 1 sesuai Peraturan Pemerintah RI Nomor 82 Tahun 2001 tentang Pengelolaan Kualitas Air dan Pengendalian Pencemaran Air. Abstract

Sampai dengan periode Januari 2016, kebutuhan air bersih nasional yang memenuhi sasaran Millenium Development Goals (mdgs), hanya 67% dari jumlah penduduk di Indonesia yang dapat mengakses air minum yang layak. Menyediakan air minum memiliki arti yang sangat penting dan strategis bagi masyarakat indonesia terutama yang bermukim di wilayah dimana tidak tersedia air bersih atau di wilayah dengan keterbatasan sumber daya air. Dengan kondisi seperti ini mendorong untuk mengembangkan dan menerapkan teknologi pengolahan air yang sederhana, cepat, murah dan berkelanjutan. Pesantren Syubabanul Yaum di Kabupaten Indramayu Propoinsi Jawa Barat telah dipilih sebagai lokasi penerapan teknologi Arsinum. Kualitas air baku yang tidak memenuhi syarat baku mutu air bersih menjadi alasan kenapa lokasi dipilih, disamping itu kebutuhan air minum sangat diperlukan oleh para santri dan masyarakat sekitarnya. Untuk memperoleh hasil yang tepat, akan dilakukan survei ke lokasi untuk mengambil sampel air baku dan menganalisanya di laboratorium, hasil dari analisa tersebut akan menjadi acuan perancangan teknologi pengolahan air yang tepat menyesuaikan dengan kondisi air bakunya yang nyata dari lokasi tersebut. Produk air minum yang dihasilkan oleh teknologi Arsinum yang sudah diaplikasikan di Pondok Pesantren Subbanul Yaum, telah dianalisa dilaboratorium lingkungan dan dinyatakan memenuhi syarat air minum yang sesuai dengan Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan RI No. 492/MENKES/IV/2010, tentang Persyaratan Kualitas Air Minum. Kata kunci: air minum, diseminasi teknologi, filtrasi, membrane teknologi

Abstract

Pulau Obi memiliki potensi sumberdaya alam sektor pertambangan yang cukup banyak. Aktivitas penambangan nikel di Pulau Obi dilakukan dengan cara pengupasan tanah menimbulkan berbagai dampak terhadap kualitas lingkungan. Salah satu dampaknya yang dikhawatirkan adalah perubahan kualitas airtanah yang berada di sekitar lokasi pertambangan. Air mengalir yang berasal dari lokasi pertambangan nikel membawa mineral-mineral berat yang akan masuk ke aliran sungai dan terinfiltrasi ke dalam tanah, sehingga akan mempengaruhi kualitas airtanah di sekitar lokasi penambangan. Desa Kawasi adalah salah satu pemukiman penduduk yang terletak di sekitar lokasi penambangan. Kebutuhan air untuk minum dan lainnya diambil dari mata air Kawasi yang juga berada di sekitar pertambangan. Dalam kegiatan ini akan diulas kondisi kualitas air dan jumlah kebutuhan air serta kondisi sanitasi penduduk di Desa Kawasi. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan melakukan survei pengambilan sampel air, pengukuran debit air dan menghitung kebutuhan air bersih di mata air Kawasi serta wawancara kepada penduduk setempat. Secara umum hasil survei menunjukkan bahwa kualitas air masih di bawah baku mutu yang dipersyaratkan sebagai air bersih serta debit air yang banyak di mata air Kawasi. Abstract

ABSTRACT Taman Kota Drinking Water Treatment Plant is Palyja's drinking water treatment plant located in West Jakarta, which processes raw water from Cengkareng Drain. The Processing capacity of IPAM is 150 liters per second. Taman Kota Drinking Water Treatment Plant has a vital meaning of meeting the supply of drinking water in the West Jakarta area. In 2007, the installation stopped operating due to the poor quality of the raw water. Since 2012 the process has been modified by adding a biofiltration process to reduce pollutants, especially ammonia. This study aims to investigate the performance of the biofilter of the Taman Taman Water Treatment Plant after operating for eight years since the process was modified in 2012 by analyzing sampling data. Sampling was carried out every day from January 2019 to January 2020, and the parameters examined were pH, turbidity, ammonium, manganese and dissolved oxygen. In the biofiltration process with a 12–36 minutes contact time in a biofiter reactor, an average ammonium reduction was 42.8%, and the manganese reduction efficiency was 42.78%. The rapid sand filtration process can reduce ammonium concentration with an average efficiency of 49.04%. Using aerobic biofiltration process can significantly increase dissolved oxygen concentration; increasing the concentration of dissolved oxygen can reach 223.45%. The results study shows that the biofiltration process using honeycomb plastic media can reduce water pollutants, such as ammonia and manganese. It can be seen that the most significant portion of the reduction of ammonium concentration occurs in the process of biofiltration and rapid sand filtration. Keywords : biofilter, drinking water, treatment, ammonium   ABSTRAK Instalasi Pengolahan Air Minum (IPAM) Taman Kota, Jakarta Barat adalah instalasi pengolah air baku milik Palyja yang mengolah air baku dari Cengkareng Drain, Jakarta Barat. Kapasitas pengolahan IPAM adalah 150 liter per detik. Instalasi Pengolahan Air Minum Taman Kota mempunyai arti penting untuk memenuhi suplai air minum di wilayah Jakarta Barat. Pada tahun 2007, IPAM Taman Kota telah berhenti beroperasi disebabkan karena kualitas air bakunya yang buruk. Sejak tahun 2012 telah dilakukan modifikasi proses dengan menambahkan proses biofiltrasi untuk menurunkan konsentrasi polutan khususnya amoniak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan investigasi kinerja proses biofilter IPAM Taman Kota yang telah beroperasi selama delapan tahun sejak dilakukan modifikasi proses pada tahun 2012 dengan melakukan analisa data sampling. Pengambilan sample dilakukan setiap hari dari bulan Januari 2019 sampai Januari 2020, dan parameter yang diperiksa yakni pH, kekeruhan, amonium, mangan dan oksigen terlarut. Dalam proses biofiltrasi dengan waktu kontak 12–36 menit di dalam reaktor biofiter didapatkan penurunan amonium rata-rata 42,8%, dan efisiensi penurunan mangan 42,78%. Proses filtrasi pasir cepat dapat menurunkan konsentrasi amonium dengan efisiensi penurunan rata-rata 49,04%. Dengan proses biofiltrasi aerobik dapat meningkatkan konsentrasi oksigen terlarut dengan sangat signifikan, peningkatan konsentrasi oksigen terlarut dapat mencapai 223,45%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa proses biofiltrasi menggunakan media plastik tipe sarang tawon dapat menurunkan polutan pencemar yang di dalam air misalnya amonia dan mangan serta dapat diketahui bahwa porsi penurunan konsentrasi amonium yang terbesar terjadi di proses biofiltrasi dan filtrasi pasir cepat. Abstract

River is a place where people do their cleaning activities and one of drinking water source and also where we could find fish. But nowadays river condition in Jakarta  area are seriously polluted. The reasons of water pollution are not only domestic waste but also from industrial waste, factories take out their waste to the river without proccessing it first. One of the pollution materials is heavy metal which could have bad effect on human body. Abstract

Water pollution in Jakarta area, especially river and shallow groundwater, had become a very serious problem. Pollution problem caused by small industrial activities had not been got attetion. Some activities, which often cause water pollution problem, were wastewater from electroplating small industry. This wastewater was one of the most potential pollutant sources, because it contains high concentration of heavy metal pollutant such as Fe, Ni, Zn, Cr, ect. To anticipate its negative effect to the environment and social life, it needs to provide a technical standard plan to manage wastewater treatment plant, especially of electroplating small industries. The purpose of these activities is to do the assessment and application of wastewater treatment technology of electroplating small industry. The target is to get design engineering and pilot plant of wastewater treatment technology for electroplating small industry. Kata kunci : Pencemaran logam berat, Pengolahan limbah cair industri kecil pelapisan logam.

Abstract

More than 90 % of Jakarta livestock supply, especially poultry, originated from outside the area. Meanwhile temporary places and slaughterhouse are spread out in some locations in Jakarta area, even most of them located in residences area. Almost all wastewater are not processed but straightly discharged to the sewer or river around the house. These spread chickens slaughterhouse activities caused environmental pollution which is difficult to control.This paper discussed about the design of wastewater process installation of chickens slaughter by biofilter anaerob-aerob process and test of its process result. Based on the test the removal efficiency of COD, Permanganate, BOD and Total Suspended Solid (TSS) were 86.52 %, 82.85 %, 88.79 % and 94.1 % respectively.. Keyword : Design, process, wastewater, chicken slaughterhouse, biofilter.

Abstract

In global industrial era, more than 70% industrial growth especially in Java will centrally around urban region. This matter can increase the environmental pollution as long as the progress of industry and technology development. Central and regional governments have continued to cope with the environmental pollution problem, although many environmental cases difficult to be resolved. This matter caused by the limited ability of observation technology and monitoring which conducted by the relevant institution and also because of the limited existing fund which allocated for the environment management. To increase the ability of environmental quality observation and monitoring technology in this time, we need the role of information and computation technology which can be used to observe and monitor online the source of pollution that resulting the environmental damages. Abstract

Coastal region is very potential area for developing in  sectors of fish, low and middle business from domestic industrial such as: food and husbandary food, fish net and shipping, services, trasnportation and travel. Concerning to high conomical potency in this coastal area is expected to be supporting area for central activities.  For this supporting in public facility  require elictricity, road and sea transportation, telecommunication, housing, health and the important is water supply.  In providing water supply infrastructure is needed good planning so that the result outcomes in right purpose and  beneficial for certain community. One of the supporting  in planning is to know social-economical condition of this community. This paper will show in general the result of coastal community social economy in Local Government, Pasir, East Kalimantan.  Kata kunci : Masyarakat nelayan, perencanaan penyediaan air bersih, kondisi sosial-ekonomi penduduk pesisir.
