Abstract

In Riau Province, the majority of community farming is oil palm gardening. But at present, the market mechanism causes the price of palm oil purchased from the population to be very low. In the Village of Kiyap Jaya, Bandar Sei Kijang District, planting of palm trees has begun in between the oil palm plants which were pioneered by one of the oil palm farmers. The location is in Lubuk Ogung Village, which is adjacent to Kiyap Jaya Village and has not yet cultivated sugar palm plants to develop sugar palm centers in Lubuk Ogung Village. The target communities of village development activities are villagers including small-scale oil palm farmers who own oil palm or yard plots. Community service activities consist of contacting village officials and material preparation; preparation of Human Resources (farmers) with the formation of four groups of sugar palm farmers; land allocation; theoretical training and technical practice of seedling and cultivation of palm trees and nursery and hatchery activities and planting of palm seeds in the prepared land location. The benefit of the activity is that the farmer understands the economic prospects of sugar palm products that are very high so that they have the motivation to pursue sugar palm seedlings and planting; farmers have the ability to breed and cultivate sugar palm plants, and the farmers carry out the practice of seed seeding in groups to become high quality and economically valuable palm saplings. The implementation of the activity was considered successful.

Abstract

A website is a whole web page that contains enormous information contained in a domain. Information on the web is presented on a web page which is formed from a collection of text, graphics, images, sound, and video. The purpose of making a website is to facilitate an agency, organization, and so on in containing information that can be accessed by the public at large. With the development of information technology, Indragiri Hulu District, in general, Bukit Lingkar Village, can access and find out the expected information about the village. Therefore we tried to design a Village Administration Website which later on the website will contain information about the Village and Village information in Bukit Lingkar Village and provide community training on how to use the website. In the process of creating and training this website, there are several activities carried out such as training on creating websites for Kukerta students, training for village government administrators in managing the website to launching the website. This activity starts with a vulnerable time from July to August 2020.

Abstract

ABSTRAK                Tujuan kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan penyuluh dan petani sagu tentang media penyuluhan dan teknik pembuatan media penyuluhan dalam bentuk video penyuluhan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam bentuk pelatihan kepada penyuluh dan petani dalam rangka meningkatkan peran penyuluh dalam melaksanakan kegiatan penyuluhan kepada petani yang dilaksanakan di Dinas Pertanian Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti. Pelatihan diikuti oleh 17 orang penyuluh dan 22 orang petani. Hasil dari kegiatan menujukkan bahwa peserta sangat senang dan antusias dengan adanya pelatihan ini, dan dapat menambah pengetahuan baru dan meningkatkan keterampilan peserta tentang berbagai macam media penyuluhan dan khususnya peserta telah memiliki keterampilan teknik dasar membuat media video untuk penyuluhan. Pembinaan lebih lanjut masih terus dilakukan, dengan terus menjalin komunikasi dengan peserta dan bahkan peserta bersedia untuk datang memperdalam keterampilan pembuatan video. Kata kunci : Pelatihan, Media, Video, Penyuluhan ABSTRACT                The purpose of this training activity is to improve the knowledge and skill of extension and sago farmers about the media of extension and technique of making the media of extension in the form of extension video.This activity is conducted in the form of training to extension workers and farmers in order to increase the role of extension workers in the implementation of extension activities to farmers conducted in the Department of Agriculture District of Meranti Islands. The training was attended by 17 extension workers and 22 peasants. The results of the activities showed that the participants were very happy and enthusiastic about the training, and could add new knowledge and improve the lesson about various media of counseling and in particular the participants already have media making technique for extension. Further coaching continues, with continued communication with participants and even participants to come to deepen the making of the video. Keywords: Training, Media, Video, Extension

Abstract

Kiab Jaya village has the main potential, namely oil palm, where oil palm is an agricultural sector that can provide a sizeable contribution. Palm oil farmers are one of the farmer groups incorporated in the Village Unit Cooperatives (KUD), this makes KUD to continue to produce new innovations that are able to bring the farmer groups to continue to develop, especially in supporting community welfare. Website as an information system that can provide accurate information, it can be utilized by KUD to become a media that supports the role of KUD, bringing farmer groups to be able to operate in a successful way by means of technology literacy so that farmer groups will continue to get information the latest and increase the literacy of oil palm farmers. Therefore, the purpose of this community service activity is to create a KUD Website named Koperasi Kiap Mandiri, which later will contain information about cooperatives and information about oil palm plantations, by involving the students as well as agents of change. The method of the activity is in the form of website creation training for Kukerta Students, website management training for cooperative administrators in managing websites, training in using websites for participants (cooperative members), and website launching. This activity begins with a time span from April to September 2019. The results of this activity are the formation of the cooperative website Kiap Jaya Mandiri, website module with ISBN: 978-623-7512-49-3, the formation of website managers and increased knowledge and skills about the technical use of the website , searching for information about oil palm science and technology through websites and sharing information through media websites, so as to increase media literacy in oil palm farmers.

Abstract

Communication is an essential part of the process of development. Therefore, effective communication is needed to achieve development goals. Rubber is the second largest commodity in Riau Province, after oil palm, and most of rubber commodities are managed by independent rubber farmers. Successful development of rubber farming is needed in order to increase the income and welfare of rubber farmers. However, effective communication is needed to achieve these objectives. The objectives of this study are to; (1) describe the internal and external characteristics of rubber farmers; (2) analyze the relationship between the characteristics and the effectiveness of the communication by rubber farmers. Research was conducted in two potential rubber commodity districts in Riau Province, e.g Kuantan Singingi Regency and Kampar Regency. Respondents in this study were determined by objective sampling and random sampling methods, with 143 rubber farmers as respondents. The results showed (1) the internal characteristics and external characteristics of the rubber farmers in an adequately supportive category; (2) the internal characteristics (education, number of dependents, land area and cosmopolitan area) and the external characteristics (intensity of enhancement, accuracy of extension channels and number of sources of information) have a significant correlation with the efficacy are significant correlated with the effectiveness of group and interpersonal communication. In order for effective communication in farmer group institutions (group communication), it is necessary to increase the intensity of extension, appropriate media extension and increase the number of information sources that are easily accessible by rubber farmers.

Abstract

Shallots are one of the main commodities in Indonesia. Consumption needs and demand that tend to increase are a potential market opportunity for farmers to increase shallots production. The purpose of this research was to ascertain the process of shallot cultivation innovation adoption and to analyze the rate of adoption of farmers who apply innovations in shallot cultivation. This research was conducted in Toapaya Asri Village, Toapaya District, Bintan Regency, determined purposively, with the consideration that this area has been cultivating shallots and is still running until now. The respondents were selected using the census method, with a maximum of 15 shallot farmers as respondents, taking into account that farmers continue to cultivate shallots. The findings indicated that the innovation adoption process of shallots could be divided into five stages: the knowledge stage was categorized as high, the persuasion stage was categorized as high, the adoption decision stage was categorized as very high, the decision not to adopt was categorized as very low, the implementation stage was categorized as high, and the confirmation stage was categorized as high. Overall, The level of adoption of innovations by farmers who implement shallot cultivation is in the very high category. Keywords: Adaptation; Innovation; Shallot Cultivation.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang dan ancaman keragaman agribisnis sagu di Desa Tanjung Kecamatan Tebing Tinggi Barat Kabupaten Kepuluan Meranti. Penelitian dilakukan dari bulan Februari sampai Mei 2017. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Purposive Sampling dan Random Sampling sebagai metode pengambilan sampel. Dimana responden terpilih sebanyak 37 petani. Alat analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis SWOT. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: Strategi yang harus dilakukan dalam meningkatkan kinerja agribisnis sagu di Desa Tanjung adalah dengan memanfaatkan lebar dan kesesuaian lahan, Dukung kerja sama kelompok tani dengan pemerintah dan Dorong pengembangan sagu berbasis olahan. produk yang bisa meningkatkan nilai tambah sagu. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) menentukan penyebab kebakaran hutan di Kabupaten Bukit Batu, (2) menganalisis peran kelompok tani dalam mengelola dan mencegah kebakaran hutan di kabupaten Bukit Batu, (3) menganalisis Peran masyarakat konservasi api yang mencegah kebakaran hutan menuju lingkungan keselamatan di kawasan Bukit Batu. Metode yang telah digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode sensus, dan samplingnya purposive. Data analitik ditentukan dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan skala likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Kebakaran di Kabupaten Bukit Batu disebabkan oleh faktor biofisik, faktor ekonomi dan faktor sosial budaya. (2) Peran kelompok tani dalam mengelola dan mencegah kebakaran hutan menjadi kategori yang sangat diperhatikan. (3) Peran masyarakat konservasi api dalam mencegah kebakaran hutan juga dalam kategori tinggi. Kata kunci: Peran kelompok tani, Komunitas Pemadam Kebakaran

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) Menganalisis tingkat efektivitas ekstensi media pada kelapa sawit di kabupaten Pangkalan Kuras, 2) Menganalisis karakteristik hubungan petani terhadap tingkat efektivitas media di Pangkalan Kuras. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Surya Indah dan Dundangan, Kecamatan Pangkalan Kuras, Kabupaten Pelalawan. Waktu penelitian dimulai dari bulan Maret hingga Desember 2018. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode purposive sampling. Total sampel yang diambil adalah 60 sampel. Metode analisis data yang digunakan untuk menjawab tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah Deskriptif Kualitatif, Skala Likert, dan Korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Tingkat efektivitas ekstensi media yang dicetak termasuk dalam kategori "cukup efektif" pada ekstensi media dan efektivitas objek fisik termasuk dalam kategori "efektif". Ini menunjukkan bahwa penyuluh sebagai media objek fisik secara efektif digunakan di kabupaten Pangkalan Kuras. 2) Ada hubungan antara karakteristik petani dengan efektifitas internal dan eksternal media benda cetak atau fisik.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) Mengkaji tingkat efektivitas media penyuluhan pada petani karet di Kecamatan Gunung Toar Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi, 2) Menganalisis hubungan karakteristik penyuluh dan petani karet terhadap tingkat literasi dan efektivitas media di Kecamatan Gunung Toar Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. Penelitian ini dilakukan didesa Lubuk Terentang dan Desa Gunung, Kecamatan Gunung Toar, Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. Waktu penelitian dimulai dari bulan Maret sampe dengan Desember 2018. Sample dalam penelitian diambil dengan Purposive Sampling. Metode analisis data yang digunakan untuk menjawab tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah Deskriptif Kualitatif, Skala Likert, dan Korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Tingkat Efektivitas Media Cetak termasuk dalam kategori “cukup efektif” dan pada efektivitas media objek fisik termasuk dalam kategori “efektif”. 2) Ada suatu hubungan antara karakteristik petani dengan efektivitas internal dan eksternal media cetak atau media fisik.
