Abstract

Variable refrigerant flow air-conditioning (VRF) systems are important and widely used building energy systems around the world. In this study, the performance of a multi-split VRF system using the bypass cycle is evaluated using the experiment as a possible sub-cooling method to prevent flash gas generation in liquid pipelines. The experimental for the multi-split VRF system is developed by considering the applications of the bypass cycle, and is validated with experimental data. The results of the tests that have been carried out are obtained in the vapor compression cycle with a bypass cycle, an increase in cooling capacity of 2.96% and an energy saving ratio (EER) of 1.72%. The input power of the bypass cycle is reduced by up to 2.45% when the performance of the multi-split VRF systems with bypass cycle cooling capacity conditions.

Abstract

Tea industry in West Sumatra and Jambi is under the auspices of PTPN VI which has a head office in Jambi City and has two production units namely Kayu Aro and Danau Kembar. Since 2018 PTPN VI has used one of the SAP software for the integration of its corporate information systems. This study aims to explore how the conditions of ERP implementation in PTPN VI, especially the tea industry which includes business processes, implementation stages, implementation constraints and how big the size of ERP implementation success in PTPN VI. The study was conducted at PTPN VI Headquarters and in both tea production units using interview techniques and questionnaire media to measure the success of implementation by developing the DeLone and McLean model that was processed with the Structural Equation Modeling approach. Measuring the success of implementation shows that the implementation was quite successful where information quality, system quality and service quality affect the level of usage and customer satisfaction which ultimately results in net benefits received.

Abstract

Heating, ventilation and air cooling (HVAC) systems are the largest users of electrical energy in the hospital. The results showed that hospitals represent about 60% of the total energy consumption in the utility building sector. In this paper, it is presented about energy efficiency and the potential for energy savings in HVAC systems in hospitals. Conditioning systems with Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) or Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) Technology allow for greater energy efficiency and cost savings compared to traditional HVAC systems.

Abstract

Balai Batu Sandaran Village, which is included in the administrative area of Barangin District, Sawahlunto City, West Sumatra, is one of the centers for citronella oil production in West Sumatra. In this village, a citronella oil refining industry has been established. The establishment of a citronella oil refining industry is one way that can be done so that existing citronella can be processed into essential oils. Mekar Wangi is one of the SMEs that uses essential oils as an additional ingredient in the household cleaning products they produce. The obstacles faced by Mekar Wangi in developing their business are the absence of PIRT, inadequate packaging, and difficulty in marketing. It only operates when there is an order. Through this activity, it is expected that Mekar Wangi will understand techniques to make attractive packaging and labeling so that they can be made later for the products they produce and provide understanding to the public that digital marketing needs to be done in promoting their business. The method of implementing this activity is carried out by giving technical demonstrations of making essential oil derivative products, labeling, product packaging, and digital marketing and providing entrepreneurial motivation so that they are able to compete and provide added value for the Mekar Wangi.

Abstract

Gudang merupakan fasilitas tempat penyimpanan material beserta seluruh kegiatan operasionalnya. PLTU PT. XYZ merupakan salah satu anak perusahaan PT PLN (Persero) yang berfokus pada jasa operasional dan maintenance. Berdasarkan pengamatan, terdapat permasalahan yang terjadi digudang sparepart PLTU PT. XYZ, yaitu pada penempatan barang di rak gudang yang masih belum teratur. Hal ini menyebabkan waktu proses pencarian yang lama akibat kesulitan menemukan material. Penelitian terdahulu telah meneliti mengenai maintanance, pengoperasian alat  serta evaluasi operasional gudang di PLTU PT. XYZ, tetapi belum ada penelitian mengenai rancang bangun sistem manajemen gudang  dengan menggunakan metode class-based storage. Padahal penelitian tersebut sangat berguna dalam pengaturan kegiatan pergudangan agar lebih efektif dan efisien. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk rancang bangun manajemen gudang sparepart di PLTU PT. XYZ. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kuantitatif, dimana metode class-based storage digunakan untuk mengklasifikasikan material. Hasil penelitian didapatkan yaitu pengelompokkan barang sesuai kelasnya (fast moving, slow moving, dan non-moving). Kesimpulan yang didapatkan yaitu layout usulan hasil penataan barang di gudang sparepart PLTU PT. XYZ menggunakan metode class-based storage, dimana total jarak tempuh pada layout awal sejauh 1.989.50 m, kemudian setelah dilakukan perbaikan berubah menjadi 1.686.90 m, yang mana terdapat penurunan jarak tempuhnya sebesar 302.60 m. atau sebesar 15.20%.

Abstract

Entrepreneur Management Customs Services (PPJK) serves to assist importers or exporters in shipping goods. The indicators of PPJK services are customer satisfaction, timeliness, suitability of quantity and condition of delivery goods. Based on this, distribution is a very important component. Decision making for determining the type of vehicle that will be used to distribute goods requires a comparison between costs and the selection of an appropriate method for making these decisions. The purpose of this study was to analyze the operational costs of PPJK vehicles using Vehicle Operating Cost Analysis (BOK). The conclusion is that the company is advised to use its own delivery vehicle if it has a budget for the purchase of the vehicle. This is because the funds spent on rental costs are greater than operating costs. Based on the calculation of PPJK's Vehicle Operational Costs, the fixed cost of the vehicle is Rp. 325,429,472/year, variable vehicle costs of Rp. 115,579,320/year and other costs of Rp. 43,560,000/year. PPJK was declared eligible to invest in vehicles because the difference between the calculation of the operating costs of the vehicle itself and the rental amounted to Rp. 1,088,910,152, which means the rental cost is higher. In addition, the use of company vehicles can minimize risk factors for work accidents, costs, time and customer satisfaction as long as they have competent human resources. Abstract

Akibat dari penurunan laju aliran massa pada bahagian hisap pada sistem pendinginan variable refrigerant flow (VRF), sistem aliran pendingin berkinerja buruk. Untuk meningkatkan efisiensi metode siklus injeksi uap digunakan. Dampak injeksi uap secara teoritis dieksplorasi dalam kajian ini pada berbagai tekanan menengah dan suhu lingkungan luar, dan temuan didukung oleh data eksperimen. Kapasitas pemanasan kompresor, daya input, koefisien kinerja (COP), dan efisiensi isentropik semuanya dipengaruhi oleh tekanan. Pada suhu sekitar yang rendah, peningkatan COP dengan injeksi uap sangat luar biasa. Dalam kajian ini, kinerja sistem pendingin dengan siklus injeksi dievaluasi, sistem dengan siklus injeksi ini menghasilkan peningkatan kapasitas pendinginan sebesar 3,26% dan rasio efisiensi energi (EER) sebesar 2,32%.

Abstract

Payakumbuh City, is one of the centres of garlic production in West Sumatra. In the city, an industry has been established for the manufacture and marketing of health products, one of them is fermented garlic (black garlic). The lack of knowledge, technology, attention from the government and related parties is an obstacle for the community to develop this business. After this community service activity, it is hoped that they can improve and develop their black garlic product through packaging, labelling and digital marketing. The method of implementing this activity is done by providing material and demonstration of packaging, labelling and digital marketing of black garlic products. This activity was accompanied by instructors (lecturers) and continued with practice by participants. The output that has been achieved is that the community understands the technology of packaging and labelling of black garlic products which have added value in order to compete widely.

Abstract

This paper presented and used experimental analysis to examine design that integrates an active heat recovery wheel mechanism into a windcatcher. A rotational thermal heat recovery is incorporated into the windcatcher channel of the proposed system. An experiment was conducted to examine how the heat recovery mechanism affected the windcatcher performance, demonstrating the system ability to provide the necessary fresh air rates. A test room model, measuring 4x4x3 meters and depicting a small classroom, was integrated with the windcatcher model. Ventilation rates managed to supply sufficient ventilation even with the rotational heat recovery wheel blocked. This active recovery has the potential to lessen the demand on space heating systems in addition to providing enough ventilation. The heat in the exhaust airstreams was caught and transferred to the incoming airstream, boosting the temperature between 7-9oC depending on the indoor/outdoor conditions. This indicates that there is a great deal of room for further development of the idea, allowing for larger-scale testing and investigation of the system's heat transfer characteristics.
