Abstract

The comprehension in mathematics concept for students is still low becomes a basic of this research. The purpose of this research is to know what is the comprehension of mathematic concept for active  learning type The Power of Two  with Handout better than for implementation of convensional learning’s students for grade IX SMPN 2 2x11Enam Lingkung in 2013/2014. The type of this research is experimental research by using random planning focused on subject. The populations are students in grade IX SMPN 2 2x11Enam Lingkung  in 2013/2014, which consist of five classes. Moreover, sample of this research is taken by random, IX3 is for experimental class and IX2 is for control class. The instrument of this research is the comprehension of mathematics concept test. The techniques of data analysis is using t test for one group by software MINITAB is got P-value = 0,001 smaller than   = 0.05, so this hyphothesis is accepted. In conclusion, the comprehension of mathematics concept for implemented convensional learning’s students.

Abstract

The research is motivated by a discussion that was dominated by a group of highly capable students and students lack of understanding of mathematical concepts. This can be seen in the results of learning mathematics class VIII student SMP 1 Sitiung Dharmasraya school year 2012/2013. This study aims to determine whether students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying Kancing Gemerincing techniques with using handouts better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning. This type of research is experimental, with the design of randomized on the subject. The results of the data analysis is known that the two samples are normally distributed and homogeneous on the real level of 0.05. Hypothesis test results obtained P-value is 0.000. The result is less than α of 0.05, then the hypothesis in this research received. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying techniques Kancing Gemerincing with using handouts better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning in class VIII student SMP 1 Sitiung Dharmasraya.

Abstract

The background of this research is student’s achievement in mathematic is law under the KKM (minimal achievement criteria), This probiem caused by the student’s understanding about the concept mathematic they lost the concept in their memory quickly. The purpose of the research to know is the student achievement in mathematic by using Group To Group active learning strategy and College Ball better than convensional learning for students grade VIII  SMPN 3 Koto XI Tarusan in 2011/-2013.The type of research is experimental. The study population were student’s of class VIII SMPN 3 Koto XI Tarusan in 2012/2013. Technique of random sampling. This research instrument is the achievement test. The form used is the essay test, a reliability test r11= 0,72. The data analysis technique used is t-test of one part with the help of software MINITAB. The result of hypothesis test obtained P-Value = 0,009 is less than α = 0,05, then the hypothesis in this research received. In conclusion, student’s achievement in mathematic by using Group To Group active learning strategy and College Ball  better than conventional learning

Abstract

The background of this research is the students comprehension of matematical concept that still low. This result of students math study at  eight grade Junior Hight School 1 Pulau Punjung. The purpose this research is to know the comprehension matematical concepts of student that apply Problem Based Learning strategy is better than comprehension mathematical consept that applied teaching conventional in eight class Junior Hight School. The kinds of research is experimental research, with planning research random to subject. The population of  this research is eight grade students of Junior Hight School 1 Pulau Punjung except grade VIII1 academic year 2013/2014 which consists of six classes. Technique of random sampling. The instrument used in this study is test of comperehension mathematical concepts. From of test used is a form to essay with a reliabilitty tes r11 = 0,987. The data analysis  technique used is one the t-test . Based on the analysis of the data found that the normal distribution of the sample class L0 = 0,1319 dan Ltabel = 0,1542. Hyphothesis test result obtained taccount < , then the hypothesis in this study received. The conclusion of this reseachs is  the students comprehension of mathematical concept that apply Problem Based Learning strategy better than the comprehension mathematical concept that students apply classroom learning in the conventional at Junior Hight School.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the understanding of mathematical concepts MTsN Pitalah eighth grade students is still low. This is because students are not trained to work with her in learning and they do not understand about the concept that should be used in work on the problems set by the teacher. This study aims to determine whether students’ understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategies The Power Of Two types accompanied Speed Test better than the students’ understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning strategies The Power Of Two accompanied Speed Test to eight grade students learning mathematics MTsN Pitalah Kab. Tanah Datar. This type of research is experimental. Random sampling technique to the subject. The instrument used is the Speed Test and final test students understanding of mathematical concepts. Form of the test used is the reliability 0,821 essay. The results obtained from testing the hypothesis t=  2,5 is greter than t table = 0,05 then the hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that the students’ understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategies The Power Of Two types accompanied Speed Test better than student understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning eighth grade students MTsN Pitalah Kab.
