Abstract

Research and development is aimed to produce a learning tool topic ecology to students critical thinking skills madrasah aliyah valid, practical, and effective. The study uses a model Mafumiko development. The research subjects Biology class X, X MIA 3 MAN 2 Model Banjarmasin include individual testing, small group test and field test. Data were collected through tests and observation. Analysis of descriptive data. The results showed the learning device has been valid for at least based on 1) the validation study results also experts with at least valid, and 2) validation team classified panel invalid. Learning devices including practically covers 1) keterlaksanaan RPP obtained very good results, 2) students showed a positive response to strongly agree 70% and agreed by 30%, and 3) teachers showed a positive response to learning learning devices classified as effective by 1) mastery of learning outcomes has reached 80 ± 2.67 of KKM students converted the letter B -, 2) assessment process was very good category, 3) assessment psychomotor excellent category, 4) spiritual assessment category very well, 5) ratings categories very good character, 6) better assessment of students critical thinking, 7) ratings of social skills to work together and contribute ideas with excellent and good categories, 8) assessment of student activity in both categories, and 9) assessment of teacher activity with very good category.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum has a pattern in which to create a creative Indonesian human being. The creative thinking abilities is important because it makes learners have many ways to solve problems with different perceptions and concepts. Components of creative thinking abilities include fluency, flexibility, and novelty. Problem solving can be used to increase motivation and cultivate creative traits. The purpose of this research is to describe the achievement aspect of each level of student’s creative thinking ability Program Biology Education of Lambung Mangkurat University in problem solving of plant ecology. This research method using quantitative approach and descriptive research type. Quantitative data from the result of student answers do written tasks that will be analyzed in percentage, then converted into data description. The result of achievement aspect of each level of student’s creative thinking ability student of Biology Education Lambung Mangkurat University in problem solving namely the creative level with fluency aspect is high, flexibility and novelty is medium. The quite creative level with fluency, flexibility and novelty is medium. The less creative level with fluency is medium, flexibility and novelty is low.

Abstract

Learning invertebrate sub concepts at Muhammadiyah 2 High School in Banjarmasin still uses conceptual learning. This causes students not to have the ability to learn in scientific activities. My research for learning effectiveness uses inquiry-based learning models for product cognitive learning outcomes, cognitive learning outcomes of the process. The method used is quasi-experimental and descriptive. Samples were taken in three classes from 3 classes (Class X-A, X-B, and X-C). Data collection techniques used covariance analysis. The results showed (1) the application of effective inquiry-based learning models to the cognitive learning outcomes of the product. The results of the study showed that product learning research was significant between the treatment classes and the control class (F = 22.11; P = 0.0001). (2) the application of effective inquiry-based learning models to the learning outcomes of cognitive processes. In the cognitive learning process there was a significant difference between the control class and the control class (F = 18.16; P = 0,0001).

Abstract

The cognitive abilities of Indonesian students are still low based on The Learning Curve in 2013, so the quality of education should be improved. One of them with environmental-based learning. Most Indonesians live in coastal areas, and some use snails as alternative dishes. Therefore, snails in coastal areas can be used as a source of learning. Interest in reading Indonesian students is also low, so the need to develop an interesting book and easily understood so that students are interested to read it. So developed a Book of Popular Scientific-based Diversitas Gastropoda in Coastal Areas. This research is the early stage of development research, which is the validation of popular science books. The purpose of this research is to develop a valid popular science book. Validation is done with three experts by giving a validation sheet of popular science books. Validation data were analyzed descriptively categorization. Suggestions and comments from validators become the reference for product revisions. Validation complete when obtaining minimum category valid. The results showed coherence aspect; legibility; active and passive sentences; method; applications and implications; definitions and explanations; and other styles the device obtains very valid category. Aspects of vocabulary; avoid dubious words; and the format obtains a valid category. Based on the results of this study, the popular scientific books developed have met the rules of popular scientific writing that is interesting and easy to understand, so this popular scientific book can be used by the community and students.

Abstract

Cara berkomunikasi dengan peserta didik sering diabaikan oleh guru karena fokus pada penyampaian materi sesuai pesan kurikulum. Tidak terkecuali pada pembelajaran biologi, bahkan seyogyanya lebih menekankan proses dari pada penanaman konsep. Penelitian kelas ini bertujuan menjelaskan tanggapan guru terhadap pertanyaan siswa berkaitan dengan komunikasi yang ia gunakan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang didekati dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan subyek penelitian adalah guru biologi yang mengajar kelas X MIA 1 SMA Negeri 4 Barabai tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Observasi dilakukan untuk mendapatkan data menggunakan format respon guru terhadap pertanyaan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada tiga macam respon guru terhadap pertanyaan siswa yakni verbal, non verbal dan positif. Respon verbal dan positif menempati (86,7%) dan respon non verbal (60%), persentasi respon non verbal ini terlalu besar, oleh karena itu, guru seyogyanya merespon positif setiap pertanyaan siswa.Kata kunci: repon guru, pertanyaan siswa, komunikasi The communication aspect is often overlooked because the teacher only focuses on the delivery of material according to the curriculum message. It is no exception to biology learning, it should even emphasize the process rather than conceptualizing. This class study aims to explain the teacher's response to student inquiries related to the communication he uses. Descriptive research method with a quantitative approach. The research subject of biology teacher who teaches class X MIA 1 SMA Negeri 4 Barabai academic year 2017/2018. Data were collected through observation using teacher response format to students' questions. Data analysis is done by the descriptive method. The results showed that there are three kinds of teacher responses to the student's questions verbal, non-verbal and positive. Verbal and positive responses occupy (86.7%) and non-verbal responses (60%), the percentage of non-verbal responses is too great, therefore teachers should respond positively to each student's question.Keywords:  teacher response, student question, communication

Abstract

Sumber belajar memiliki banyak jenisnya salah satunya adalah sumber belajar berbentuk buku ilmiah populer. Dalam Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia buku ilmiah memiliki arti yaitu buku ilmiah populer berarti buku ilmiah yang ditulis dengan cara yang mudah dan dipahami orang awam. Masa kini kebanyakan mahasiswa hanya memiliki pengetahuan namun kurang dalam menemukan konsep, kurang dalam mengembangkan pengetahuan dan kurang dalam melatihkan keterampilan proses sains, dengan adanya buku ini mahasiswa akan meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan validitas buku ilmiah populer keanekaragaman famili Fabaceae di kawasan hutan pantai untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Plomp dan Nieveen yang terbatas pada fase prototyping dan evaluasi formatif oleh Tessmer. Tahapan pengembangan meliputi evaluasi diri, validasi ahli, dan uji perorangan. Subjek penelitian adalah tiga ahli untuk memeriksa validitas buku ilmiah populer dan 3 mahasiswa yang telah memprogram mata kuliah Botani Tumbuhan Tinggi. Sedangkan objek penelitian adalah buku ilmiah populer yang dikembangkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan buku ilmiah populer yang telah dikembangkan dinyatakan sangat valid berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli, berdasarkan uji perorangan buku ilmiah populer sangat baik. dan dipakai dalam mendukung proses belajar mengajar.

Abstract

Etnobotani merupakan salah satu cabang ilmu yang mengkaji manfaat tumbuhan bagi masyarakat adat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Jenis tumbuhan Arenga pinnata Merr. berdasarkan penyebaran habitat dan manfaat bagi masyarakat di Desa Sungai Tuan, Kecamatan Astambul Kabupaten Banjar dapat dikenalkan kepada siswa atau pembaca melalui buku BIP. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan validitas buku ilmiah populer tumbuhan Arenga pinnata Merr. Metode yang digunakan adalah pengembangan dengan model Education Design Research (EDR) dengan evaluasi ujiformatif Tessmer yang divalidasi oleh 2 orang ahli dari Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. Adapun hasil yang didapatkan dari uji validasi oleh 2 validator ahli tehadap buku ilmiah populer Arenga pinnata Merr. adalah sangat baik dengan skor 89,68%.

Abstract

Educational design research aims to 1) determine the critical thinking skills of gredeX MIPA MAN Kapuas’students, 2) explain the improvement of critical thinking skills.The research used Tessmer's formativeevaluation design with following steps 1) expert review, 2) one-to-one evaluation, 3) small group evaluationand 4) field test evaluation as the focus of the research.The research was conducted for five months (February-June 2018) at MAN Kapuas Central Kalimantan Province.The research subjects of the student worksheets’development invertebrata concept are the students of grade X MIPA 2 with 27 students in total. The researchsubjects in environmental changes concept are the students of grade X MIPA 1 with 30 students in total.Theresearch subjects in ecosystem concept are the students of grade X MIPA 1 with 33 students in total.Data criticalthinking skills (defining problems, making hypothesis, collecting data, analyzing data, and making conclusions)are obtained from students' ability to work on students worksheets and scored using the rubric of criticalthinking skills which is the scores obtained divided by the maximum score and expressed by%.The result ofthe research showed that student worksheets is usede effectively based on 1) Critical thinking skills of grade XMIPA MAN Kapuas’students were classified as good category such as defining problem, making hypothesis,collecting data, analyzing data, and making conclusion, 2) There are signs of improvement in critical thinkingskill, except the skill of making conclusions.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a science-biology learning instrument that is practical and effective. The stage of development using procedural model consisting of: a) the identification of problem, b) describes the objectives, and c) establishes the development model. The stage of products testing included: a) test, b) to evaluate, and c) communicate the results. The subjects were students of SMPN 3 and 5, Loban River, Tanah Bumbu regency. Individual testing was done in SMPN3. Small group and field test was conducted in SMPN 5. The data of practicality of learning instruments includes: a) the usage of lesson plan (RPP), and b) the response of students to learning process. The data of effectiveness of learning instruments includes: a) the cognitive learning outcomes, b) the assessment results of critical thinking skills, c) the assessment results of behavioral characteristics, d) the assessment results of social skills, and e) the effectiveness of students in learning process. Data were collected through tests and observation and analyzed descriptively. The results of research in the development stage, including: a) problem identification such as topic selection of learning and the determination of learning environment, b) learning objectives based on the ABCD rule and learning outcomes, such as critical thinking skills, c) development model. The research results in the testing product stage demonstrated the practicality of the learning instrument has been reached. It is based on: a) the usage of RPP which were already good, and b) most students have responded positively to the learning process. The effectiveness of learning intrument has also been fulfilled. It is based on: a) cognitive learning outcomes that have been completed, b) the assessment results of critical thinking skills, behavioral characteristics, and social skills, that have achieved good category, e) the student's liveliness in learning process which were already visible.Keywords: Effectiveness, learning instruments, mangrove forests, practicality, science-biology
