Abstract

Abstract: The purposes of this research were to determine: (1) which has better learning achievement, students are given TS-TS, NHT, or direct  intruction, (2)  which has better learning achievement, students with intrapersonal intelligence of high, medium or low, (3) which has better learning achievement, students with interpersonal intelligence of high, medium or low on each learning model, (4) which has better learning achievement, students are given TS-TS, NHT, and direct intruction on each interpersonal intelligence. This study was a quasi experimental research with 3 3 factorial design. The population of this study was all eighth grade students of junior high schools in Surakarta. Sampling was done by stratified cluster random sampling. The sample in this study are 271 people with details of 89 people for class experiment I, 91 people for class experiment II and 91 people for control class. The instruments used were mathematics achievement test and  questionnaire of student’s interpersonal intelligence. The data was analyzed using two ways anova. Based on the hypothesis test, it is concluded as follows. (1) Cooperative learning methods TS-TS type provide a better performance than cooperative learning method NHT type and direct intruction. (2) Mathematics learning achievements of students with high interpersonal intelligence levels did not differ from that of students with medium levels of interpersonal intelligence, while learning mathematics achievement of students with a high or medium level of interpersonal intelligence was better than that of students with low levels of interpersonal intelligence. (3) At each level of students’ interpersonal intelligence, TS-TS provided a better mathematics learning achievement compared with NHT learning and direct learning, while NHT learning provided no difference in mathematics learning achievement from direct learning. (4) At each learning model, mathematics learning achievement of students with high level of interpersonal intelligence was not different from that of students with medium level of interpersonal intelligence, while mathematics learning achievement of students with a high or medium level of interpersonal intelligence was better than that of students with low levels of interpersonal intelligence.Keywords: Two Stay Two Stray (TS-TS), Numbered Heads Together (NHT), Interpersonal Intelligence.

Abstract

ABSTRACTMalaria is a public health problem that can affect infant mortality, under five, pregnant women and can reduce productivity. The annual parasite incidence from 2008 antil 2011showed malaria morbidity in Sumbawa district remain high. The Purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of Malaria Surveillance System at the District Health Office Lombok Sumbawa Besar. This study used a descriptive survey method. Subjects were malaria surveillance officer in district Health office, health centers, and hospitals. Research object is a document epidemiological surveillance report of malaria in 2013. Variables of this study is the implementation of malaria surveillance system (input, process, output) and surveillance system attributes. Data obtained from interviews and observations were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the data type on input stage was not yet complete, the quantity of labor was complete but insufficient quality of human resources, facilities and sufficient funds were available. At stage of the data collection process employed W2 weekly report format and monthly report format, report formats and reporting lines were simple, completeness and monthly reports 100% W2, W2 reporting time liness was > 80% and monthly reports was > 90%, Analysis and interpretation of the data was done However the analysis of relationshif was conducted by 20% of primary health care. The resulting output is a description of endemicity areas, API and SPR are presented in tabular form, graph and maps. Dissemination of information is done in the form of reports, workshops and profiles. Feedback is done each month through coordination meeting, regular meetings and regular supervision. Surveillance evaluation system based on attributed surveillance showed its simplicity and acceptability, however sensitivity can not be assessed yet, low NPP 1.75%, report punctuality was > 80%. It is necessary the existence of expert epidemiologists (S2) and skilled epidemiologists (S1), training officer, coordination, and the role of public institutions and budgetary surveillance of malaria increased in all areas Sumbawa district health offices.Keywords: malaria surveillance systems, evaluation, surveillance attributes

Abstract

This research aims to develop the scientific skill in making argumentation by guided inquiry model in two aspects: (1) to describe the argumentation skill in physics learning, (2) to describe the implimentation of physics learning by guided inquiry model. This research design is one group pretest posttest design. The subject research is the eleventh grade students of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in 21 students and Phyisics teachers of eleventh grade.  The data collection is argumentation test and observation sheet. The analysis technique is gain score, percetage, and reliability. The research result states that the guided inquiry model is effective to increase the argumentation skill in Physics learning.

Abstract

The developmental research objective is to produce the module of outer space physics (Fisika Bumi Antariksa or FBA) that is suitbale and effective to increase the students’ achievment of Physics Education in Faculty Teacher Training and Education, Lambung Mangkurat University. The developmental method used Four D Mode covering define, design, develop, and disseminate. The subject of research is 33 students who took the outer space physics lecture for odd semester in 2011/2012. The data collection technique used the evaluation of suitability, questionnaire, and test. The tecnique of data analysis is qualitative and descriptive. The result of research stated that (1) the module of outer space physics is suitable for learning material relating to content, language, and dilivery; (2) the students’ achievment is good because 9% of the students total number got “A” meaning very satisfying, 45% of them got “B” meaning satisfying, 27% of them got “C” meaning enough satisfying; and (3) the students responded positively to the use of the module of outer space physics in teaching learning activity. In a word, the module of outer space physics is suitable and effective to increase the students’ achievment of Physics Education in Faculty Teacher Training and Education, Lambung Mangkurat University.

Abstract

The general purpose of this action research is to describe the effectivity of the direct instruction (DI) model application in increasing the university students’ potential scientific basis in Basic Physics 2 under the subject of basic electrostatics. To study the materials and solve the problem of physics in this lecture, the scientific basis competence in the form of procedural skill and declarative knowledge is needed. The research result has shown that the effectivity of the instruction application in increasing the university students’ scientific basis competence is 76,4% in the effective category. It is suggested that in the lecture of Basic  Physics 2, it is best for the lecturer to apply the direct instruction (DI) model, especially in increasing the university students’ scientific basis competence in depicting, presenting, and    explaining the meaning of the basic physical formula of Physics.

Abstract

This study is aimed at investigating the morphosyntactic issues in English descriptive writing of EFL learners in Indonesia. Therefore, qualitative data were collected from the students’ descriptive writing and analyzed in the morphosyntactic issues that lead to the grammatical errors, which take place in descriptive writing. Furthermore, the technique of collecting data was a documentation technique and the analysis technique used is the descriptive analysis. The findings in this study indicated that the EFL learners in Indonesia did not aware of using “s” for plural mark and third singular in present tense. Then, they did not aware of using “ed” for regular verb in past and past participle form. Moreover, they did not build sentence according to the syntax structure in English because they followed the Indonesian language sentence structure.

Abstract

Materi ajar yang berorientasi lingkungan lahan basah belum tersedia di sekolah. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan mendeskripsikan kelayakan materi ajar IPA menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif berorientasi lingkungan lahan basah. Tujuan khusus penelitian adalah mendeskripsikan: (1) validitas materi ajar,         (2) kepraktisan materi ajar, dan (3) efektivitas materi ajar. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian dan pengembangan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE. Subjek ujicoba adalah siswa kelas VIII-B SMP Negeri 27 Banjarmasin. Data diperoleh melalui lembar validasi, lembar pengamatan keterlaksanaan RPP, tes hasil belajar dan lembar kerja siswa. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) validitas materi ajar berkategori valid, (2) kepraktisan materi ajar berkategori baik, dan (3) efektivitas materi ajar berdasarkan hasil belajar produk berkategori sedang dan berdasarkan hasil belajar proses berkategori baik. Simpulan penelitian adalah materi ajar IPA menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif berorientasi lingkungan lahan basah layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Teaching material that wetland environment oriented is not yet available in schools. Therefore, conducted a research with the aim of describing the feasibility of science teaching material using the cooperative learning model that wetland environment oriented. The specific purpose of research to describe: (1) the validity of teaching material, (2) the practicality of teaching material, and (3) the effectiveness of teaching material. Type of research is research and development by using ADDIE development model. The samples of the subject were students in VIII-B SMP Negeri 27 Banjarmasin. The data obtained through validation sheet, observation sheet of lesson plan implementation, test of learning result and student worksheet. The data were analyzed descriptively quantitative and qualitative. The result of the research shows: (1) validity of teaching material is valid category, (2) practicality of teaching material is good category, and  (3) effectiveness of teaching material based on product learning result is medium category and based on process learning result is good category. The conclusion of this research is the Science teaching material using the cooperative learning model that wetland environment oriented is feasible to use in learning activity.

Abstract

Conventional learning makes students more dependent on teachers, less active students participation in the learning process cause low mastery of  learning results. Therefore, the aim of the research is to describe the effectiveness of the implementation of cooperative learning model Group Investigation type in improving student learning results. In particular, this study aimed to describe: (1) the implementation of the lesson plan, (2) the learning results after implementation of cooperative learning model Group Investigation type, (3) social skills of students, (4) the response of students towards learning. The type of the research is a class action research. This research consist of three cycles, each cycle includes the plan, action/observation, and reflective. Devices and instruments used in this research is the lesson plans, handouts, worksheets, THB, observation sheets of lesson plan implementation, and social skills of students, and student response sheets. Data follected through tests, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The results showed that (1) lesson plan implementation in the first cycle was 76.00%, the second cycle is 84.00% and the third cycle was 99.33%. (2) mastery in the classical student learning results in the first cycle was 63.33%, the second cycle was 80.00%, and the third cycle is 100%. (3) students social skills for active listening skills have an average percentage of each cycle for 86.67%, 83.33% argued for asking question was 90.83% and 84.16% for active discussion. (4) the general student response was good. In the conclusion, cooperative learning model Group Investigation type effective in improving student learning results in class XI IPA 1 SMAN 4 Banjarmasin  on the subject of static fluida.

Abstract

Siswa kelas VIII B SMP Negeri 10 Banjarmasin memiliki keterampilan proses sains yang masih rendah. Hal ini dikarenakan siswa hanya terbiasa mendapat informasi hanya dari guru sehingga jarang dilatihkan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan proses sainsnya. Untuk itu dilakukan upaya untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains melalui penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing yang memiliki tujuan khusus: (1) mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan RPP model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, (2) mendeskripsikan keterampilan proses sains siswa melaui model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, dan (3) mendeskripsikan hasil belajar siswa setelah diterapkannya model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas menggunakan rancangan model Hopkins. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, penilaian, tes dan dokumentasi.  Teknik analisis data berupa deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) keterlaksanaan RPP mencapai terlaksana sangat baik, (2) keterampilan proses sains siswa meningkat dengan kategori baik, (3) hasil belajar siswa yang meningkat dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 87,10%. Diperoleh simpulan bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa SMP Negeri 10 Banjarmasin.

Abstract

The low of student learning outcomes in learning physics because the response to science learning still low and lack of availability of physics module SMP/MTs which connect Qur’an with science. It is necessary for research that aims to determine the feasibility of physics module class VII SMP/MTs based interrelation of the Quran and science. The special purpose, namely: (1) the validity of the module, (2) implemented of RPP, (3) student learning outcomes, and (4) student’s response. The development of physics module refers to the ADDIE model, namely: (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. Subjects were 33 students of class VII B SMP State 17 Banjarmasin academic year 2013/2014 as a test grade. Data collection technique used instrument validation module, observations, test results of students’ learning and questionnaire responses. The results of research and development showed that: (1) the validity of modules on validation material is excellent category, validation media is excellent category, and validation interrelation is good category, (2) implemented of RPP in the excellent category, (3) student learning outcomes at the first meeting in quite effective category, second meeting in quite effective category, and third meeting in less effective category, (4) students’ response in good category. We concluded that the feasibility of the physics module class VII SMP/MTs based interrelation of the Quran and science in the worthy category.
