Abstract

Local wisdom is a cultural heritage that needs to be preserved. The Cilacaps coastal communities have traditional taxonomy knowledge that hasnt been informed, especially about mole crab. This study aimed to explore the ethnotaxonomy knowledge of sand crabs (Crustacea: Hippoidea) in Widarapayung coastal communities. The purposive snowball sampling was used for the method, followed by observation and semi-structured interviews with 30 respondents. Data were analyzed descriptively based on observations and interviews. The results showed that the coastal communities in Widarapayung tourist areas could be divided into five groups, namely catchers, collectors, processors, traders, and consumers. The catcher was able to recognize and describe three types of sand crabs based on the shape of the body and their catchment areas. Captured crabs had the local name of yutuk jambe (Emerita emeritus Linnaeus 1767), the appellation was based on carapace shape that resembled the shape of areca fruit; Yutuk bathok (Hippa adactyla Fabricius 1787), had the carapace shape resembling a coconut shell, and yutuk Kethek (Albunea symmysta Linnaeus 1758), had ornaments on the carapace surface similar with a monkey face, there were dense setae on the edge of the carapace, spiny long antennas and aggressively pinch when captured. Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the copepod daily feeding to Dunaliella salina and Chlorella sp because the research of copepod daily consumption to the phytoplankton in the sea was a part of discovering the water productivity. The determination was needed in the laboratory experimental method, in order to qualifying the biomass and energy transfer of sea food web / chain. The observation based on the laboratory experimental method and conducted in the Hatcehery and Laboratory of Alga, Marine Station, Teluk Awur Jepara. Four treatment were applied during the observation, i.e.: A. D.salina 20 litre; B. D.salina  2 litre; C. Chlorella sp 20 litre; D. Chlorella sp 2 liter. The copepod grazing rate was determined base on parameter of cell phytoplankton/ ml/ hour/ copepode. There were 4 series observation. The observations were done for 36 hours with 3 hours interval. The data collected was arranged as copepod daily consumption and analyzed using MAXIMS Analysis Models. The highest copepod daily grazing rate was 88.02 ± 44.18 cell phytoplankton/ ml/ hour/ copepod for D.salina on 20 liter volume of media. While the lowest one 50.16 ± 43.99 cell phytoplankton/ ml/ hour / copepod for Chlorella sp on 2 liters volume media. The Copepod daily grazing model tends to form a constant model for D.salina on 20 liters of media and proportional model for 2 liters volume of media. The Chlorella sp on 2 liters volume of media graze by the copepod showed the same model for constant and proportional model. The water quality of the media remained in tolerance range to support the grazing rate of copepod to the phytoplankton during the research.

Abstract

Selama ini pengkaji atau pendidik bahasa Arab tampaknya baru sekedarmemposisikan bahasa Arab sebagai alat (wasîlah) untuk memahami teks ke-Islaman yang berbahasa Arab dan belum memfungsikannya sebagai sebuahdisiplin ilmu yang perlu dikembangkan melalui berbagai penelitian dan pembacaankembali secara kritis. Tantangan dan berbagai persoalan yang dihadapi pendidikanbahasa Arab tidak mungkin dapat dipecahkan secara personal, tetapi harus melaluipendekatan institusional dan melibatkan banyak pihak. Pendidikan bahasa Arabsebagai peluang yang dapat memberikan prospek yang lebih cerah dan menjanjikanbagi peminat dan penggiat studi bahasa Arab di masa depan. Epistemologi keilmuan dan kurikulum perlu dibenahi dan diorientasikan kepadapembentukan kemahiran yang kompetitif di era global ini. Semua itu menuntut banyak pihakuntuk bersinergi dalam menyatukan visi, misi, arah kebijakan dan pengembanganyang dilandasi oleh kajian akademik yang mendalam.

Abstract

Bandengan waters are marine tourism area which should be preserved, so that it is necessary to analyze the suitability and carrying capacity of the area. This study aims to determine the suitability of marine tourism using tourism suitability indices method based on biophysical parameters. Biophysical-water para­meters used as suitability criteria are coral reef coverage, harmful biota, depth, brightness, current velocity, bottom substrate, slope and width of the beach, land cover and type of beach and the availability of fresh water. Analysis of the carrying capacity of the area was conducted to determine the width of the area and the carrying capacity for each category of marine tourism. Based on the analysis of the suitability of marine tourism and the carrying capacity of the region, there are two categories of tourism which are very suitable to be developed in Bandengan waters. The first category is recreation and swimming with total area of 52.46 hectares and a capacity of 27,978 visitors. The second category is boating, banana boat and jet ski with a total area of 99.68 hectares and a capacity of 11,961 visitors. Kata kunci: marine tourism, suitability analysis, carrying capacity.   Perairan Bandengan merupakan kawasan wisata bahari yang harus dijaga kelestariannya, sehingga perlu dilakukan analisa kesesuaian dan daya dukung kawasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesesuaian wisata bahari dengan metode indeks kesesuaian wisata berdasarkan parameter biofisik perairan. Parameter biofisik perairan yang dijadikan kriteria yaitu tutupan terumbu karang, biota berbahaya, kedalaman, kecerahan, kecepatan arus, material dasar perairan, kemiringan dan lebar pantai, penutupan lahan dan tipe pantai serta ketersediaan air bersih. Analisa daya dukung kawasan dilakukan untuk mengetahui luas kawasan dan daya tampung untuk masing-masing kategori wisata bahari. Berdasarkan hasil analisa terhadap kesesuaian wisata bahari dan daya dukung kawasan, ada dua kategori wisata yang sangat sesuai untuk dikembangkan pada perairan Bandengan. Kategori wisata bahari yang pertama yaitu rekreasi dan renang dengan luas kawasan 52,46 ha dan daya tampung 27,978 wisatawan. Kategori kedua yaitu berperahu, banana boat dan jet ski dengan luas kawasan 99,68 ha dan daya tampung 11.961 wisatawan. Keywords: wisata bahari, analisis kesesuaian, daya dukung.

Abstract

Bandengan waters have the potential to serve as a marine tourism area, its sustainability has to be preserved. Optimal utilization of Bandengan waters can provide benefits not only to the environment but also to the economic improvement of the community. Efforts to optimize marine tourism in Bandengan waters were conducted by reviewing area management alternatives to preserve and improve the welfare of the commu­nity. This study aims to analyze the alternative management of the marine tourism area using A'WOT analysis which is a combined analysis of SWOT and AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) to establish strategies and to determine alternative management on marine tourism in Bandengan waters. Based on A'WOT analysis obtained alternatives to manage marine tourism area which consists of spatial planning based on biophysical parameters, spatial planning based on the carrying capacity of the environment, increasing public and tourist awareness to cleanliness, improving both the quantity and quality of infrastructure, and the making of legis­lation. The recommended alternative management is basically aimed to preserve the marine tourism in Bandengan waters and to improve the people's welfare. Keywords: marine tourism, alternative management, SWOT, AHP  Perairan Bandengan memiliki potensi yang dapat dijadikan sebagai kawasan wisata bahari, sehingga perlu dijaga kelestariannya. Pemanfaatan perairan Bandengan secara optimal dapat memberikan manfaat tidak hanya terhadap lingkungan tetapi juga terhadap peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat. Upaya untuk meng­optimalkan wisata bahari di perairan Bandengan dilakukan pengkajian terhadap alternatif pengelolaan ka­wasan menjaga kelestarian dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa alternatif pengelolaan kawasan wisata bahari dengan menggunakan analisa A’WOT yaitu ga­bungan analisa SWOT dan PHA untuk menetapkan strategi dan menentukan alternatif pengelolaan kawasan wisata bahari di Perairan Bandengan. Berdasarkan analisa A’WOT diperoleh alternatif pengelolaan kawasan wisata bahari yang terdiri dari penataan ruang berdasarkan parameter biofisik, penataan ruang berdasarkan daya dukung lingkungan, peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat dan wisatawan terhadap kebersihan, peningkatan infrastruktur baik kuantitas maupun kualitas, serta pembuatan peraturan perundang-undangan. Alternatif pengelolaan yang dihasilkan pada dasarnya bertujuan untuk menjaga kelestarian kawasan wisata bahari di perairan Bandengan dan meningkatkan  kesejahteraan masyarakat Bandengan. Abstract

Retno Hartati, Edy Supriyo, Muhammad Zainuri, in this paper explain that many salt industry is currently undergoing a inefficiencies process in the production system. Declining quality of salt from the salt ponds and lack of homogeneity in the iodine content of salt briquettes and much KIO3 wasted. So it is necessary to increase the iodine levels in salt. This activity aims to design, create and test a iodized salt machine with a capacity of 1-2 tons per hour and perform quality control on products. Community service activities have been successfully implemented by creating iodized salt machine. The process is done by means of iodized salt machine in the salt product becomes higher and meet ISO standards, in which prior to iodized salt machine the content of KIO3 is 0 ppm and become 50 ppm after using KIO3. Abstract

Dunaliella salina and Chlorella vulgaris is a natural feed microalgae with high carotenoid content that can be increased using protoplast fusion technique. Protoplast fusion as one of the application fields of genetic engineering is a method for obtaining recombinant with the desired properties and profitable in a short time. This study aimed to see the effect of the addition of carotenoid-rich feed results from protoplast fusion recombinant D. salina and C. vulgaris on the survival rate and weight of shrimp post larvae. Mixed fusion results feed and artificial feed needed for the growth of post-larval shrimp, moulting and skin pigmentation. The results showed that the recombinant from protoplast fusion intergenera D. salina and C. vulgaris contains carotenoid pigments higher, reaching 124.6 mg / g bks from the second parent, namely D. salina reached 101.83 mg / g bks, while C. vulgaris 97.18 ug / g bks. Feed manufacturing is done by mixing pellets and 80-100x103 cells per 0.0225 g of feed. Application of feed carried on Penaeus monodon F. (tiger prawn) stadia PL-20 for a month. The results of weight measurements showed the highest prawn post larvae reached at artificial feeding plus recombinant protoplast fusion results intergenera D. salina and C. vulgaris and was able to raise the level of post-larval shrimp survival rate reached 88%.   Keywords: D. salina, C. vulgaris, Protoplast Fusion, Carotenoid, Penaeus monodon F.

Abstract

Chlorella pyrenoidosa is a unicellular green algae that grows in fresh water with carotenoids consisting of             β-carotene, α-carotene, anthaxanthin, neoxanthin, zeaxanthin and lutein. C. vulgaris usually it lives in sea water with carotenoids, chlorophyll, tocopherol, ubiquinone and proteins. The quality of them is improved by protoplast fusion and identified further using moleculer analysis. This study aims to find out the characterization and identification of molecular fusan that is obtained from interspecies C. pyrenoidosa and C. vulgaris protoplast fusion process using 18SrDNA. Both C. pyrenoidosa and C. vulgaris are combined by protoplast fusion and then they were performed the isolation of DNA with CTAB modification method, followed by PCR gradient using primers 18S Chlorella and performed DNA sequencing. The result show that there are different characters between masterplan and fusan based on growth of fresh water and sea water medium. The success frequency of fusan as a result from protoplast fusion in the fresh water media is 21% and 6% for sea water medium. The results of the alignment between fresh water fusan and C. vulgaris masterplan from GeneBank shows that the base sequence homology is 93% C. pyrenoidosa masterplan from GeneBank is 90%. The result of molecular identification towards the sequence of fresh water fusan bases shows that there is a kinship relationship with the masterplan of C. pyrenoidosa 18S Chlorella and Chlorosphaera klebsii microalgae compared with some other species from Chlorophyta group with similarity value as many as 91%. It shows that the high variety genetic is based on variations of the base sequence and has a kinship with other species in the Chlorophyta group.                                      Keywords : Chlorella pyrenoidosa, Chlorella vulgaris, Protoplast Fusion, DNA Sequensing, 18SrDNA.

Abstract

Ketergantungan pestisida pada sentra produksi bawang merah Kabupaten Tegal telah menimbulkan pencemaran logam berat kadmium (Cd) di dalam tanah dan tanaman bawang merah. Kadar logam tersebut telah melebihi ambang batas yang dapat mengganggu kesehatan manusia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melakukan analisis kandungan kadmium pada akar, daun dan umbi tanaman bawang merah dari Tegal. Metode penelitian dilakukan melalui analisis kandungan logam berat kadmium dalam tanaman bawang merah  dibandingkan dengan kontrol menggunakan metode spektrofotometri atom absorbansi (AAS). Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan kandungan kadmium pada umbi, daun dan akar bawang merah di Tegal pada umur 20 hari berturut-turut adalah sebagai berikut 3,4805 mg/g; 4,1374 mg/g dan 7,9175 mg/g. Kandungan kadmium pada umbi, daun dan akar bawang merah umur 50 hari atau usia panen berturut-turut adalah sebagai berikut 1,8331 mg/g; 1, 8331 mg/g dan 3,5323 mg/g. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan konsentrasi kadmium yang melampaui batas ambang aman bagi makanan, kesehatan dan lingkungan.    Pesticide dependence on onion production centers Tegal has caused heavy metal pollution of cadmium (Cd) in the soil and plant onions. This metal content exceeds the threshold that can impair human health. The purpose of this study was to analyze lead content in root, leaves and bulb of red onion from Tegal. Research methods to analyze the content of heavy metals in the soil compared to the control using atomic absorbance spectrophotometry (AAS). The research results showed lead content in roots, leaves and roots of onion at the age of 20 days in a row is as follows 3,4805 mg/g; 4,1374 mg/g and 7,9175 mg/g. The results obtained shows that cadmium concentrations exceed safe thresholds for food, health and the environment.

Abstract

Perairan Pantai Morosari, Demak merupakan perairan yang disekitarnya terdapat pemukiman penduduk, industri wisata serta aktifitas nelayan dan memberikan dampak terhadap kualitas perairan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui variabilitas klorofil-a dan net primary productivity serta mengetahui pengaruh hidrodinamika yaitu arus pasang surut terhadap lingkungan perairan di daerah pesisir. Distribusi parameter diolah menggunakan software ArcGIS 9.3 sedangkan data sekunder sebagai variabel pendukung disajikan dengan vektor arus dengan software SMS 10.1. Hasil analisis laboratorium untuk konsentrasi klorofil-a menunjukkan nilai tertinggi diperoleh pada sampling tanggal 23 Maret pada stasiun 4 (vegetasi mangrove) sebesar 0,4564 mg/m3. Nilai terendah diperoleh pada pengambilan sampel pada tanggal 22 April di stasiun 6 (bekas pertambakan) sebesar 0,0063 mg/m3. Hasil konsentrasi net primary productivity (NPP) menunjukkan nilai tertinggi diperoleh pada sampling tanggal 23 Maret 2014 pada stasiun 3 (mangrove) sebesar 256,2500 mgC/m3/jam. Nilai terendah di peroleh pada pengambilan sampel pada tanggal 22 April 2014 di stasiun 5 (bekas pertambakan) sebesar 4,6875 mg C/ m3/jam. Perairan Morosari, Demak memiliki variabilitas klorofil-a dan net primary productivity dengan sebaran yang yang berpindah setiap bulan dari muara sungai ke laut dan lebih banyak dipengaruhi oleh mixing proses pengadukan untuk muara sungai, traping nutrien dan dekomposisi untuk vegetasi mangrove serta pengendapan untuk di perairan yang agak jauh dari pantai. Variabel hidrodinamika di Perairan Morosari, Demak secara dominan adalah arus dengan kecepatan arus berkisar nilai 0,019 - 0,164 m/detik menuju ke arah Timur.
