Abstract

This research entitled An Analysis of Conflict Managements used by Félicie in the Movie Leap! (2016) aims to analyze types of conflict management used by the main character to overcome the conflict in the movie Ballerina/Leap. The data source of this research is the movie Leap! (2016) which was published in 2016 as the result of the collaboration of Quad Production, Caramel Film, and Main Journey in 2016 and directed by Eric Warin and Eric summer. The data is was collected through documentation method, by Watching the movie repeatedly, and then the data is identified and selected the data that is used in this research. The collected data is analyzed qualitatively and presented descriptively. A theory that is used in this research is proposed by Rahim (2002) about conflict management. Based on the research, it shows that all types of conflict management proposed by the expert are used by Félicie, the main character in this movie Leap! (2016). There are five occurrences in total, namely Integrating, Obliging, Dominating, Avoiding, and Compromising.

Abstract

The film Friends with Benefits is the data source in this study. In collecting the data through library research by viewing films, reading scripts, and taking notes. In analyzing the data, the qualitative method is used and presented descriptively based on the theory adopted in this study. The theory used in this study is the theory of literature proposed by Wellek and Warren (1949) about characterization. The results of this study showed that only three characterization dimensions were analyzed. In presenting these dimensions, this study presents an overview and/or dialogue from the film. There are three dimensions of the characterization of the main character analyzed in this study: physiological, sociological, and psychological. These physical and psychological characteristics combine to build up Jamie Rellis and Dylan Harper, a romantic person in the film Friends with Benefits.

Abstract

This thesis uses Three Aspects of Personality in Psychological, Id, Ego and Super-Ego”. This research aims to identify and explain how the main character surfaces the three aspects of personality in psychological Thor Ragnarok movie. The theory used is from Sigmund Freud theory of Psychoanalysis. Qualitative method is used to analyze the data. The researcher found the psychological dimensions of the main character, such as the id, the ego, and the superego. Thor’s id was shown in his ambition to revenge his sister who has kicked him from Asgard and disrupted life in Asgard. Thor’s ego was shown when he didn’t believe if his hammer could be destroyed because he only knows if his hammer was the strongest. Thor’s super-ego or the moral strength was shown when Thor had nightmares every night that he saw Asgard fall into ruins.

Abstract

This study is to find out the types of external conflict faced by the main character in the pound comic on webtoon, and to handle the conflict with five style management strategies faced by the main character in the pound comic on webtoon. The data sources of this study were taken from webtoon. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The data were analyzed based on the theory proposed by Kenney (1966), about types of conflict and the supporting theory proposed by Thomas and Kilmann (1970), about conflict management strategy. The result of this study showed the source of external conflict happened in the comic, there are man against man and man against society. The conflict also identified the strategy used by the main character in the pound comic on webtoon to handle the external conflict such as, competing, collaborating, compromising, accommodating, and avoiding.
