Abstract

Based on background knowledge of this research was understanding of concept mathematics at VIII grade of SMP N16 Padang. It is caused by the materials that students have been lost from their mind. This research is to determine whether students’ understanding of concept mathematics by using Sepak Bola Verbal strategy better than students’ understanding of concept mathematics by using conventional strategy andto know how the students motivation ini learning by using sepak bola verbal strategy at VIII SMP N 16 Padang.Type of this research was experiment. Population of this research was students at VIII SMP N 16 Padang, and sample of this research was students class VIII.8as experimental class and VIII.6 as control class. Post-Test was as instrumentation in this research, with reliability 0.84.From the data analysis get mean score from students’ achievement in experimental class was 68.89 that high rather than in control class that was 57.04.Data analysis was done by using minitab program.P-value= 0.026so hypothesis use acceptable. So, we can conclude that students’ understanding of concept mathematics that used Sepak Bola Verbal strategy better than conventional strategy at VIII Grade of SMP N 16 Padang.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the students’ poor understanding of mathematical concepts, so that they frequently did not complete the tasks submitted by the teacher. The research aims to determine whether implementing cooperative learning model Team Games Tournament (TGT) is better than the conventional learning to improve student’s understanding of mathematical concepts for VIII-grade students of MTsN Limbanang, 50 Kota. This research is experimental, using random sampling of population.  The population studied is five classes of VIII-grade students of MTsN Limbanang, 50 Kota. Samples taken ramdomly from the selected classes: VIII.1 class as the experimental class and VIII.2 class as the control class. The instrument used in this study is a test of students’ understanding of mathematical concepts. The test form is essay with reliability r11=0.869. From the data analysis obtained the mean of the experimental class is 76.6 and 61.9 for the control class. The one side test of hypothesis (t-test) using MINITAB shows Pvalue 0.002 which less than α 0.05; so that the hypothesis proposed on the trust level 95% is accepted. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts by implementing cooperative learning Team Games Tournament ( TGT ) is better than conventional learning.

Abstract

Students’ mathematic larning outcome of MTsN Gurun Panjang was low. It was one of the factors that showed students’ mastery in mathematic concept was also low. The phenomenon was assumed due to the techer-centered situation during the teaching and learning process in he classroom. Basides, the teachers were assumed lacking in considering students’already existing background knowledge, and the students’ mathematic concept using Fire-up strategy was higher than students’ mathematic concept using conventional model at grade VIII of MTsN Gurun Panjang.The design of the research was experiment. The population was students of grade VIII. The sample was taken randomly. The experiment group was VIII.1 and the control group was VIII.3. The instrument use in the researchwas essay post-test. The data was analyzed using t-test.Based on the data analysis, it was found that students’ average scores of experiment group was 74,04, higher that the control group the was 59. From the Minitab, it was obtained that P-value was 0.006. it showed that P-value was lower than α; 0,05 Therefore, it could be stated than students’ ability in understanding mathematic concept using Fire-Up strategy was better that students using conventional learning at grade VIII MTsN Gurun Panjang.

Abstract

Understanding of concepts and skills students learning activities are essential to reach the goal of learning. So, we need the learning process afectifly and efficiently. It have influenced for students result. This research has goal to see the influence of implementation learning strategic of cooperative learning type Students Team Achievement Division (STAD) to the understanding of mathematical concepts and skills students learning activities. The type of research is experimental research. Technique of random sampling. The instrument used is the observation sheet student learning activities, with the activity types of Oral Activities, Writing Activities, and Mental Activities. Test student understanding of mathematical concepts experimental class was 87,15 with a standar deviation of 11,4 and 81,6 with the control class is standart deviation 14,4. Hypothesis testing using t-test of the one part, obtained t cound > t table is 1,69 > 1,645 this means the hypothesis is accepted. Conclusion is students understanding of mathematical concept by implementation learning strategic of cooperative learning type STAD better than the students understanding by applying conventional learning.

Abstract

The  comprehension of the mathematical concept students are still low of class XII IPA SMAN 14 Padang becomes problem which is background this research. Other problems that background this research is students tend to ask their friends compared to teachers in the classroom, but the students discussions no effective. One of the solutions that used to overcome such problem is by implementing The Power of Two. The purpose of this research is to know determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts by implementing strategies The Power Of Two is better than student comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional learning class XII IPA SMAN 14 Padang. This research is experimental research with research design randomized on subject. The data analysis used was one way t test by using program MINITAB. Based on the calculation results obtained P-value = 0.001 is smaller than the significance level (α) = 0,05 so it can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concepts using strategies The Power Of Two is better than the students comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional learning class XII IPA SMAN 14 Padang.

Abstract

The research was background by the understanding of mathematical concept achieved class XI IPASMAN 1 Sungai Beremas Pasaman Barat is still low. This is because the less students construct own knowledge gained from the result of the discussion.Thisresearch purposes to find out if the students mathematical understanding the applying cooperative learning types think talk write better than on a mathematical concept understanding students with conventional learning on student in grade XI IPASMAN 1 Sungai Beremas Pasaman Barat. This is the kind of research experiments. The population in this study are all grade XI IPA SMAN 1 Sungai Beremas Pasaman Barat years lesson 2012/2013. The technique of sampling was done randomly,Selected  grade XI IPA.1 as experimental class and XI IPA.2 as the class of the control. The instrument which was used in this research was essay test with index of reliability = 0,85. Mathematical concept understanding test result student class experiments is 80,10and control class is 71,58. Hypothesis testing using the one way of t-test with the help of software MINITAB, obtained P- value of 0,018is smaller than α = 0,05. So it can be concluded the understanding of the mathematical concept of student using cooperative model types think talk write better than on understanding concept that apply to conventional learning at grade XI IPA SMAN 1 Sungai Beremas Pasaman Barat.

Abstract

The research was background by an understanding of mathematical concepts students are still low and the students did not dare to ask the teacher. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of active learning type The Learning Cell with handout about understanding of mathematical concepts students better than understanding of mathematical concepts students with conventional learning. Kind of this research is experiment with plan random on subyek. The population is IX SMPN 1 Kubung Kabupaten Solok and sample it IX3 as experiment class and IX5 as control class. This research use instrument is essay, that test about understanding of mathematical concepts students consist of 6 item  with reliability test  0,8238. By virtue of data analysis get average of result learning of student experiment class better than control class. Hypothesis use test t-one way with software MINITAB, result P-value 0,022 less than  is 0,05 so hypothesis acceptable. So the conclusion is learning with active learning type The Learning Cell with handout better than conventional learning at IX SMPN 1 Kubung Kabupaten Solok.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the students understanding of mathematical concepts are still low. This study aims to determine whether students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategy Type True Or False Statement better than students understanding of mathematical concepts with the application of conventional learning. This type of research is experimental, the research design pre eksperimental design : static group comparison. The population in this research is the students in grade VIII SMPN 27 Padang. Sampling was done by purposive sampling, with the consideration that both classes have an average that is similar to the decision classes VIII.2as eksperimental and VIII.3 as control. The instruments that are used in this study are students’ activity observation sheet and essay test. Based on the result of the study, it is found that increasing percentage in each meeting. Results of data analysis that the two classes are normally distributed and homogeneous samples and t test results obtained P-value=0,003 is less than α=0,05, so that hypothesis is approved. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategy Type True Or False Statement VIII.2 grade better than students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning models VIII.3 grade SMP 27 Padang

Abstract

The background of this research is the students comprehension of matematical concept that still low. This result of students math study at  eight grade Junior Hight School 1 Pulau Punjung. The purpose this research is to know the comprehension matematical concepts of student that apply Problem Based Learning strategy is better than comprehension mathematical consept that applied teaching conventional in eight class Junior Hight School. The kinds of research is experimental research, with planning research random to subject. The population of  this research is eight grade students of Junior Hight School 1 Pulau Punjung except grade VIII1 academic year 2013/2014 which consists of six classes. Technique of random sampling. The instrument used in this study is test of comperehension mathematical concepts. From of test used is a form to essay with a reliabilitty tes r11 = 0,987. The data analysis  technique used is one the t-test . Based on the analysis of the data found that the normal distribution of the sample class L0 = 0,1319 dan Ltabel = 0,1542. Hyphothesis test result obtained taccount < , then the hypothesis in this study received. The conclusion of this reseachs is  the students comprehension of mathematical concept that apply Problem Based Learning strategy better than the comprehension mathematical concept that students apply classroom learning in the conventional at Junior Hight School.

Abstract

This research is based by the comprehension of students are low so that the result of student’s mathematics results are below minimum completeness criteria, lacking of student motivation in learning process, and learning is centered on the teacher. The purpose of this study was to determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts by applying ROPES instructional model teaching using guided teaching better than an comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional teaching students in class VIII SMP 3 Payakumbuh. This research is experimental research. The population is a student from class VIII SMP 3 Payakumbuh Academic Year 2013/2014 consisting of 6 classes. The techniques of sample collection taken by randomly. The instrument that used was a test student comprehension of mathematical concepts in the form of an essay test with the reliability of the test r11 = 0,813. The result of hypothesis test obtained  and  because the  more than  then the hypothesis in this research received. In conclusion, student’s comprehension of math concept that apply active learning ROPES instructional model teaching using guided teaching is better than conventional learning.
