Abstract

The knowledge and skills acquired or studied are a competency possessed by a learner. Competence refers to a person's basic knowledge of a system, event, or fact, which is an unobservable ability to do and display something. While performance is a concrete manifestation and can be observed or realized on a competency. This research was conducted to determine how much performance shown by Japanese language students in Japanese Literature Study Program Untag Surabaya in the sixth semester in using Japanese sentence pattern learning material in an essay. Students of Japanese Literature Study Program Untag Surabaya in the sixth semester took the Sakubun II course (Writing Level II / Intermediate). The choice of words and sentence patterns in the essays produced were compared with the number of Japanese sentence patterns they had learned. The research method used is an observation method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the study stated that 1) the sentences produced in the essay used a sentence pattern that was lower than the number of sentence patterns that had been studied; 2) found sentence patterns that were not taught through required textbooks, it was alleged that students used sentence patterns they learned from other textbooks, internet, anime, mangoes, and from other sources; 3) students use sentence patterns that are adjusted to the level of writing in the Sakubun II course.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang paling sering muncul dari keragaman Indonesia adalah konflik yang levelnya bukan hanya pada tataran daerah, tetapi sudah mulai mengancam integrasi bangsa. Berulang kali Indonesia dilanda konflik yang arahnya memecah belah semangat persatuan dan kesatuan masyarakatnya. Keragaman suku, ras, agama, perbedaan bahasa dan nilai-nilai hidup yang terjadi di Indonesia sering berbuntut berbagai konflik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pendidikan karakter berbasis multikultur dalam upaya merawat semangat persatuan dan kesatuan bangsa Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan karya ilmiah ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakan dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh kemudian diianalisis dengan mendalam untuk disajikan secara deskriptif kualitatif. Adapun hasil penelitian ini menunjukan, bahwa pendidikan karakter berbasis multikultur dalam upaya merawat semangat persatuan dan kesatuan bangsa Indonesia dilakukan melalui penanaman nilai-nilai karakter dalam diri warga negara, seperti toleransi, sopan, ramah dan santun, demokratis, semangat kebangsaan, nasionalisme dan patriotisme, cinta tanah air, bersahabat/komunikatif, dan cinta damai.

Abstract

Reading is what happens when people look at a text and assign meaning to the written symbols in that text. It functions as a major tool for finding and understanding information in terms of what is already known. Reading also has the value of helping the students learn to express their own thoughts and make them familiar with the language patterns and ways of using language efficiently. Students at grade VIII B of SMPN 57 Surabaya academic year 2018/2019 get many problems dealing with reading. The purposes of this research were to find out to find whether authentic material can improve student’s reading comprehension and to know the factors that influence students’ reading comprehension by using authentic material. This research was classroom action research. The subject used by the researcher was second grade students (grade VIII B) of SMPN 57 Surabaya. Based on the data analyzed, it shown that authentic teaching materials could improve students’ reading comprehension. It could be proven by looking at the change on students’ behaviors. Before using authentic teaching materials as the technique, the classroom situation was boring and lifeless, but after using the technique, there was a new atmosphere which motivated the students. The students became more enthusiastic in reading than before. Besides, their achievement also improved. It could be seen that the mean score in pre-test 55.5 increased to 77.6. Thus, the researcher concludesd that teaching students reading comprehension using authentic teaching materials could improve the students’ reading comprehension, increase their vocabulary, encourage them to be active.

Abstract

This study is intended to analyze Indonesian-language errors in the writing of store signage in the Sungai Penuh City area. The object of his research was the writing on the signboards of shops, billboards, and banners in the Sungai Penuh City area. Researchers chose the brand board of the store in Sungai Penuh City as the research site because in this region there were a lot of writing errors on the signboards of shops. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. This study aims to determine the form of EBI errors in the form of the use of capital letters and absorption elements contained in the writing of the store brand sign on R.E. Martadinata street to Muradi Street, Sungai Penuh City. Based on the data found in the field and the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that many errors in Indonesian language were found in the writing of store signage found along R.E. Martadinata street to Jalan Muradi, Sungai Penuh City. This is because there are still many store brands whose writing is not / does not comply with good and correct Indonesian rules. Of the 30 billboards, 3 billboards were found that experienced EBI errors in the form of capital letter usage and 27 billboards that experienced EBI errors in the form of the use of absorption words contained in billboard writing on R.E. Martadinata street to Jalan Muradi, Sungai Penuh City.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to analyze the linguistic styles found in the three clothing categories of LifeWear Magazine Uniqlo Edition 08 Spring & Summer 2023: 'wardrobe essentials', 'art of everyday life' and 'Melbourne magic'. . This is a method of descriptive analysis using reading and note-taking methods for the language style data published in LifeWear Magazine Uniqlo Edition 08 Spring & Summer 2023 "The Art of Everyday Life". The analysis found that the magazine's three clothing categories use five different linguistic styles: anthropomorphic, metaphorical, simile, hyperbole, and antithesis. Each clothing category has a different variation of speaking. The Wardrobe Essentials category has 4 personifications, 1 simile, 2 hyperbole, and 1 antithesis. The "everyday art" category has 1 anthropomorphism, 1 exaggeration, and 1 metaphor. There are currently 2 personifications, 2 metaphors, and 1 fable in the Melbourne Magic category. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis gaya bahasa yang terdapat di dalam tiga kategori pakaian Majalah LifeWear Uniqlo Edisi 08 Spring & Summer 2023 "The Art of Everyday Life" yaitu Wardrobe Essentials, The Art of Everyday Life, dan Melbourne Magic. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif terhadap data yang berupa gaya bahasa dalam Majalah LifeWear Uniqlo Edisi 08 Spring & Summer 2023 "The Art of Everyday Life" dengan menggunakan teknik baca dan catat. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat lima jenis gaya bahasa yang digunakan dalam tiga kategori pakaian dalam majalah, yaitu Personifikasi, Metafora, Simile, Hiperbola, dan Antitesis. Setiap kategori pakaian memiliki variasi penggunaan gaya bahasa yang berbeda. Pada kategori Wardrobe Essentials, terdapat 4 Personifikasi, 1 Simile, 2 Hiperbola, dan 1 Antitesis. Pada kategori The Art of Everyday Life, terdapat 1 Personifikasi, 1 Hiperbola, dan 1 Metafora. Sedangkan pada kategori Melbourne Magic, terdapat 2 Personifikasi, 2 Metafora, dan 1 Simile. Kata Kunci: Gaya Bahasa, Majalah, Uniqlo.

Abstract

Fudanshi merupakan istilah untuk menyebut salah satu subkultur Jepang, otaku, yaitu laki-laki yang menyukai yaoi atau BL. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan karakteristik fudanshi dari tokoh Miyano dalam manga Sasaki to Miyano karya Shou Harusono. Data berupa karakteristik fudanshi dalam manga Sasaki to Miyano volume 1-4 yang diambil dari gambar dan dialog, dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dengan atribusi, yaitu menjelaskan karakteristik seseorang yang dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Hasil analisis terhadap karakteristik fudanshi dari tokoh Miyano dalam manga Sasaki to Miyano yaitu; 1.) menyembunyikan identitas sebagai fudanshi (2 Data), 2.) menyukai hal-hal bergenre yaoi (3 Data), 3.) tidak ingin menerapkan yaoi atau BL di dalam kehidupan (1 Data), 4.) tidak ingin disebut sebagai gay atau homo (1 Data), 5.) antusias jika membahas BL (1 Data), 6.) suka berimajinasi tentang BL (3 Data).

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis inisiatif yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Jepang dalam memanfaatkan masakan tradisional. Metodologi penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif. Tinjauan literatur memanfaatkan berbagai sumber data sekunder digunakan untuk tujuan ini. Tiga konsep yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu konsep kekuasaan persuasif, diplomasi budaya, dan diplomasi publik. Ketiga konsep ini membantu Jepang maju dalam dua cara utama. Fase awal melibatkan pengorganisasian pameran di acara-acara seperti festival, sedangkan fase kedua melibatkan peningkatan kesadaran melalui media visual seperti manga dan anime. Kesimpulan utama dari artikel ini adalah bahwa upaya Jepang melalui washoku ditujukan untuk menjaga kepentingan nasional, termasuk memajukan bangsa dan mencapai nilai ekspor yang diinginkan ke luar negeri. Mempengaruhi persepsi masyarakat dunia bahwa Jepang adalah negara yang menghargai perdamaian dan memiliki budaya menawan baik kontemporer maupun tradisional, serta menegaskan fakta bahwa Jepang memiliki budaya kuliner yang sangat khas. Kata Kunci: Jepang, Tradisional, Diplomasi, Budaya Kuliner Abstract The objective of this research is to analyze the initiatives that the Japanese have implemented to utilize traditional cuisine. The research methodology employs qualitative methods. A review of literature utilizing various secondary data sources is utilized for this purpose. Three concepts are utilized in this research: the concepts of persuasive power, cultural diplomacy, and public diplomacy. These three concepts assisted Japan in progressing in two main ways. The initial phase involves organizing exhibitions at events such as festivals, while the second phase involves raising awareness through visual media like manga and anime. The main conclusion from this article is that Japan's endeavors through washoku are aimed at safeguarding national interests, including promoting the nation and achieving the desired value of its exports overseas. Influencing the perception of the global population that Japan is a country that values peace and possesses a captivating culture that is both contemporary and traditional, as well as emphasizing the fact that Japan possesses a highly distinctive culinary culture. Abstract

Pelatihan ini membahas pengelolaan sumber daya manusia (SDM) di era digital dan upaya untuk meningkatkan produktivitas usaha kecil dan menengah (UKM). Pelatihan ini melibatkan analisis kompetensi yang diperlukan oleh profesional sumber daya manusia dan peran mereka dalam merancang strategi dan kebijakan yang efektif untuk pengelolaan SDM di organisasi. Selain itu, pelatihan ini juga menyoroti tantangan yang dihadapi oleh UKM, terutama dalam hal rendahnya tingkat produktivitas, nilai tambah, dan kualitas produk. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa profesional sumber daya manusia perlu menguasai kompetensi strategis yang meliputi pemahaman tentang nilai-nilai organisasi, pengelolaan talenta, kepemimpinan, dan penggunaan teknologi digital. Selain itu, penting juga bagi mereka untuk dapat memposisikan bisnis secara strategis, membangun hubungan berdasarkan kepercayaan, dan mengelola berbagai tekanan dalam bisnis. Dalam konteks UKM, pelatihan ini menekankan pentingnya peningkatan produktivitas sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Dalam hal ini, modernisasi sistem usaha dan kebijakan yang sistematis menjadi salah satu alternatif yang diusulkan. Hal ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan daya saing daerah dan memperbaiki kinerja UKM. Selain itu, pelatihan juga diidentifikasi sebagai kebutuhan penting bagi pelaku UKM, termasuk pengembangan keterampilan digital, manajemen keuangan, dan penguasaan teknologi informasi. Pelatihan ini memberikan wawasan yang berharga bagi para profesional sumber daya manusia dan pemangku kepentingan UKM dalam memahami pentingnya pengelolaan SDM di era digital dan meningkatkan produktivitas UKM. Implementasi strategi yang efektif dalam pengelolaan SDM dan peningkatan produktivitas akan membantu mencapai tujuan pengembangan UKM yang berkelanjutan dan kontribusi yang lebih signifikan terhadap perekonomian nasional

Abstract

Podcasts are one of the well-liked technological advancements to aid language acquisition. Podcasts, which are digital recordings, can be utilized to help students acquire the English language, particularly in speaking and skills. The reconducted was skilled at SMAN to know how to teach speaking and listening skills in high school using podcast media. Researchers used qualitative methods with observation and interview approaches and an interactive model for data analysis. The study results are (1) podcasts are a solution to students' difficulties in learning English as a medium for utilizing technology, (2) podcasts as a medium for learning speaking and listening skills, (3) podcasts can increase student motivation in learning English. So, this researcher draws the conclusion that Podcasts are one of the choices of English learning aids that also allow teachers to use technology in the classroom. It is important to highlight that the aim is not to replace podcasts as a substitute for live teaching. Therefore, it is recommended that when using podcasts, teachers should instruct their students well to maximize their effectiveness.
