Abstract

The number of vehicles on the road has increased drastically in recent years. The license plate is an identity card for a vehicle. It can map to the owner and further information about vehicle. License plate information is useful to help traffic management systems. For example, traffic management systems can check for vehicles moving at speeds not permitted by law and can also be installed in parking areas to se-cure the entrance or exit way for vehicles. License plate recognition algorithms have been proposed by many researchers. License plate recognition requires license plate detection, segmentation, and charac-ters recognition. The algorithm detects the position of a license plate and extracts the characters. Various license plate recognition algorithms have been implemented, and each algorithm has its strengths and weaknesses. In this research, I implement three algorithms for detecting license plates, three algorithms for segmenting license plates, and two algorithms for recognizing license plate characters. I evaluate each of these algorithms on the same two datasets, one from Greece and one from Thailand. For detecting li-cense plates, the best result is obtained by a Haar cascade algorithm. After the best result of license plate detection is obtained, for the segmentation part a Laplacian based method has the highest accuracy. Last, the license plate recognition experiment shows that a neural network has better accuracy than other algo-rithm. I summarize and analyze the overall performance of each method for comparison.

Abstract

Development of edge detector using mathematical morphology can provide remarkably more precise edge detection. This system mainly focuses on edge detection of cars. This paper uses car database for the early detection in automatic traffic law enforcement. The methodology for accurate edge detector includes grayscale image conversion, median filter, element structures formation, mathematical morphology, synthetic weighted and segmentation using Otsu method. The morphological operation that was used in this study is basic operation such as dilation and erosion. The use of morphological operation was to find the limits and the image terminals by selecting different size and extensions converted to images of grey levels and the results were compared to determine the most suitable and better methods. In this study, 371 car databases and 100 objects from the publicly available Berkeley and Greek car databases were used as data. This methodology is proved highly accurate 0.7-1.58% higher than Canny edge detector. The accuracy of the results from Mathematical Morphlogy Edge Detection were 83.23%; 83.27%; 82.66%; 79.78% while the results from Canny Edge Detection were 81.90%; 82.08%; 81.08%; 79.71%. In comparison with the results from Canny edge detector. It shows that mathematical morphology renders better overall performance. It was also tested with salt and pepper noises and still shows better results. Z-test was used for comparing the means of two populations while F-test was used to test if two population variances are equal. Both tests were done because in this study two populations were used as main datasets. The effectiveness and robustness make this mathematical morphology method a suitable tool to be integrated into complete pre-screening systems for the early detection in automatic traffic law enforcement.

Abstract

XYZ Ltd. is an expedition company that uses container ships and container trucks as transportation modes. There are three business process transactions that are carried out by the company, i.e. customer registration, ordering expedition services, and payment expedition services. Currently, all business process transactions are carried out manually, so process automation is needed in order for the business processes to run more effectively and efficiently. For this purpose, an Online Expedition Services Customer Service Information System was proposed to be built. This system consists of three main processes, namely the customer registration process, the customer order process, and the payment process and report generation. XYZ Ltd. Customer Service Information System was built following the waterfall development model. The stages of system development consist of five stages, namely planning, requirements analysis, database, and interface design, implementation of program code writing and testing and system maintenance. In implementing and testing the system, whole system requirements have been checked; the three main business processes in the proposed online system were running precisely, effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

Background: Employees of technology companies evaluate their experience through online reviews. Online reviews of companies from employees or former employees help job seeker to find out the weaknesses and strengths of the companies.  The reviews can be used as an evaluation tool for each technology company to understand their employee’s perceptions. However, most information on online reviews is not well responded since some of the detailed information of the company is missing. Objective: This study aims to generate an Aspect-based Sentiment Analysis using user review data. The review data were then extracted and classified into five aspects: work balance, culture value, career opportunities, company benefit, and management. The output of this study is the aspect score from each company.Methods: This study suggests a method to analyze online reviews from employees in detail, so it can prevent the missing of specific information. The analysis was sequentially carried out in five stages. First, user review data were crawled from Glassdoor and stored in a database. Second, the raw data were processed in the data pre-processing stage to delete the incomplete data. Third, the words other than noun keyword were eliminated using Standford POS Tagger. Fourth, the noun keywords were then classified into each aspect. Finally, the aspect score was calculated based on the aspect-based sentiment analysis.Results: Result showed that the proposed method managed to turn raw review data into five aspects based on user perception.Conclusion: The study provides information for two parties, job seeker and the company. The analysis of the review could help the job seeker to decide which company that suits his need and ability. For the companies, it can be a great assistance because they will be more aware of their strengths and weaknesses. This study could possibly also provide ratings to the companies based on the aspects that have been determined.

Abstract

Sistem pendukung keputusan berupa prediksi penentuan penerima beasiswa online diharapkan dapat membantu dalam menentukan mahasiswa calon penerima beasiswa. Pada penelitian ini difokuskan pada studi kasus Program Studi Sistem Informasi Fakultas Vokasi, Universitas Airlangga. Banyaknya jumlah beasiswa yang masuk ke fakultas mengakibatkan staf  kemahasiswaan kewalahan karena jumlah calon penerima beasiswa sangat banyak sedangkan beasiswa yang ditawarkan terbatas. Kuota beasiswa sendiri juga diberikan pada tiap program studi berdasarkan banyaknya jumlah mahasiswa pada tiap angkatan. Karena proses administrasi serba manual maka petugas kemahasiswaan kesulitan dalam menentukan penerima dari beasiswa yang ada pada tiap semesternya. Akibatnya beberapa beasiswa peruntukkannya belum tepat sasaran sehingga terkadang ada beberapa mahasiswa yang menerima beasiswa ganda akibat kelalaian dalam penentuan penerima beasiswa. Oleh karena permasalahan tersebut maka sistem pendukung berupa prediksi penentuan penerima beasiswa sangat dibutuhkan untuk saat ini demi membangun sistem terkomputerisasi yang terstruktur di lingkungan Program Studi Sistem Informasi Fakultas Vokasi, Universitas Airlangga. Metode penelitian yang digunakan mencakup pengumpulan data, analisis sistem, desain system, implementasi sistem dan evaluasi dan pengujian sistem. Sedangkan algoritma yang digunakan adalah Algoritma  KNearest Neighbours. Nilai parameter K yang digunakan adalah 2. Indeks Kemiskinan dan Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif  merupakan variabel yang diukur. Nilai akurasi yang dihasilkan oleh algoritma KNearest Neighbours dengan nilai K= 2 yaitu sebesar 83,4%.

Abstract

Background: In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, hoax news emerged which often caused people to panic and make wrong decisions. The emergence of this hoax is because many people are not literate with information, so they trust all the information that is circulating. People also do not have social awareness to filter the information they get. Objective: This article aims to present the results of the socialization of digital literacy education to anticipate hoax news. Method: The method used in this community service is to provide socialization on the dangers of hoaxes and literacy education digital to anticipate hoax news, then explain how to search for valid and accurate information. Results: The result of this community service activity was an increase in public understanding of how to find valid and accurate Covid-19 information / news. As well as people's understanding of how to differentiate between true and false information about Covid-19. Conclusion: This community service activity has a positive impact on increasing public understanding of the spread of Covid-19 news on the internet.

Abstract

The welfare of the community on all fronts is one of Indonesia's national ideals. The village, as the smallest community in the state society, is often the forgotten part of the effort to achieve this. Therefore, legislation that regulates village problems is made in the hope that the welfare of the village community can be achieved. One of the things regulated in the law on villages is the BUMDes. BUMDes itself is an agency that plays an important role in improving the village economy. In this article, we will discuss the role of BUMDes as an economic driver using the Banjarworo Village case study. The research method used in this article is a qualitative research method with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, field observations, and literature studies through books, journals, and related websites. After the data was collected, data triangulation from the three data collection techniques was carried out to obtain the validity of the data used in this paper. The results obtained are that BUMDes can play an effective role in improving the economy in Banjarworo Village because they can develop MSMEs in the village by increasing branding and expanding the marketing reach of the products produced.

Abstract

Kesejahteraan masyarakat di segala lini adalah salah satu cita-cita nasional Indonesia. Desa, sebagai lingkup masyarakat terkecil dalam masyarakat bernegara, seringkali menjadi bagian yang terlupakan dalam upaya mencapai hal tersebut. Oleh karena itu, dibuatlah perundang-undangan yang mengatur masalah desa dengan harapan kesejahteraan masyarakat desa dapat dicapai. Salah satu hal yang diatur dalam undang-undang tentang desa adalah mengenai BUMDes. BUMDes sendiri merupakan badan yang berperan penting dalam peningkatan perekonomian desa. Dalam artikel ini, akan dibahas mengenai peran BUMDes sebagai penggerak ekonomi dengan menggunakan studi kasus Desa Banjarworo . Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam artikel ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi lapangan, dan studi literatur melalui buku, jurnal, dan website terkait. Setelah data dikumpulkan, triangulasi data dari ketiga teknik pengumpulan data tersebut dilakukan untuk mendapatkan validitas data yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah BUMDes dapat berperan secara efektif untuk meningkatkan perekonomian di Desa Banjarworo  karena dapat mengembangkan UMKM yang terdapat di desa tersebut dengan cara meningkatkan branding dan memperluas jangkauan pemasaran dari produk yang dihasilkan.
