Abstract

Keterampilan (skill) dalam industri perhotelan sangat diperlukan bagi seseorang untuk memenuhi tuntutan kerja di dunia industri. Para lulusan SMA/K yang telah mengikuti pelatihan di LPK memerlukan suatu pendalaman keterampilan dunia industri perhotelan sebelum mereka benar-benar terjun langsung ke industri. Salah satu kegiatan untuk memperdalam keterampilan tersebut adalah melalui pelaksanaan on the job training. Namun adanya pandemi Covid-19 menyebabkan banyak hotel yang tidak membuka kesempatan bagi LPK untuk melaksanakan on the job training. Hal inilah yang membuat Institut Pariwisata dan Bisnis Internasional bekerjasama dengan IHGMA membuat program HOLISTIC yang bertujuan untuk membantu para lulusan SMA/K mendapatkan pengalaman OJT di industri perhotelan. Para peserta pelatihan diambil dari 3 wilayah di Provinsi Bali yang memiliki daerah wisata favorit, yaitu Ubud, Legian, dan Seminyak. Dengan total pelaksanaan pelatihan adalah 13 hari, peserta pelatihan mendapat pengalaman teori dan praktik langsung dari para praktisi perhotelan baik dari departemen tata hidang (food and beverage service), tata boga (food production), bartender, dan tata graha (housekeeping). Hasil dari pelatihan ini, para peserta mendapatkan pengalaman langsung di industri, selain juga berbagai pengetahuan mengenai profesionalisme kerja di industri perhotelan, peluang karir di dunia industri perhotelan, serta motivasi dan dukungan dari praktisi hotel sehingga para peserta memiliki optimisme yang besar bahwa sektor pariwisata masih menjadi sektor yang menjanjikan kedepannya.

Abstract

Education and employee training that is held at Inna Sindhu Beach Hotel.like Technical skill training, Managerial Skill and other education and skill training, be expected can increase knowledge, skill and attitude of the employee. But for the  implementation there are so many obstacles that are found like the limited of budget and follow up in the field is not done well for the control by each department head. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of education and training to employee performance  at Inna Sindhu Beach Hotel. Data analysis technique that is used for this research is rank spearman correlation analysis by spreading some questioner in Front office department, Food and beverage service department by using 44 respondent. Sampling technique that is used for this research is non probability sampling with type of saturated sampling by using all of population  member. The result of this research show that there is no significant effect p = 0,085 > 0,05 between education and training to employee performance  at Inna Sindhu Beach Hotel. Based on the result of the research Hotel side is expected to do education and training more effective, planning the budget to make the education and training can be done continuously, inviting good speaker, making schedule for each employee to follow education and training program and giving the employee matching topic of  training with their job.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to find out: (1) the effect of the job training and practical learning facilities simultaneously to working readiness of students (2) The effect of the job training and practical learning facilities partially to working readiness of students (3) the dominant effect between on the job training and practical learning facilities to working readiness of students.The samples of this research are all students of Hotel Management Program at The Bali Hotel School in the academic year 2010/2011. The total number of the samples are  87 students. Out of those 87 students, there are only 84 students return and answer the questionnaires. The data of each variable was analyzed by means of descriptive statistical analysis to find out any trend appearing in each variable and to explore the significant relation between the independent and dependent variable, both simultaneously and partially. The analysis applied for this is partial correlation and multiple regression analysis.The results of quantitative analysis show that: (1) there was  significant effect simultaneously between on the job training and practical learning facilities to working readiness of student based on the analysis of F test with SPSS program version 17 found the value of counted F is 90,343 and Sig value is 0,000. (2) There was significant effect partially between on the job training and practical learning facilities to working readiness of students based on the analysis of t test found significant of > 0,05. (3) The variable having dominant effect to working readiness of student is practical learning facilities (X2) which has the beta value of 0,558 while on the job training (X1) has the beta value of 0,292.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the English speaking skill of servers at Lakeview Restaurant-Kintamani, Bali in serving food and beverage orders, and focused on serving “A’la carte menu” orders. The problems of speaking in English often faced by servers are less confident talking to guests when handling them during breakfast, lunch or dinner. This case may be resulted by thinking of the grammatical correctness and the social functions of the sentence that we say should be done spontaneously.The results of this study would give the contribution to servers in order to improve the English speaking skills in serving food and beverage orders. Secondly, for the restaurant management in considering the policy of self-development of the servers to improve English speaking ability so that can consider the promotion policy for the servers who have speaking English skill well, and the last, the English lecturers at tourism colleges in developing approaches, methods and techniques of teaching English for communication and English for Specific Purpose (ESP).This study used a qualitative descriptive method to describe English speaking skill of 20 servers by evaluating language aspects in speaking such as the pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension in serving food and beverage orders of “A’la carte menu”.             Evidently, all the respondents do not have poor of English speaking skills.75% respondents has good category, 35% respondents has excellent category, and 10% has average category of English speaking skills. Based on the research, it was known that the characteristics of the sample can be fulfilled as required in the methodology of this study.

Abstract

In the tourism area the vehicle population continues to increase, on the other hand the lack of public facilities that are safe and comfortable as a medium of transportation causes most tourists to prefer carrying private vehicles. Meanwhile tourist attractions in tourist areas are usually centered on a particular location. This will also result in high concentration of vehicles in the area. Then the availability of parking lots is needed. The problem is the need for land for other purposes is also increasing and the availability of vacant land is also limited. Resulting in several problems such as parking on the roadside which will then hamper vehicle circulation activities. The research objective is to identify parking system problems in the Kuta tourism area and create ideas in the direction of the development of parking infrastructure referring to the development of multi-storey parking buildings (Vertical) with the application of the parking system system with APS (Automatic Parking System) technology. This research is a research with a qualitative descriptive analysis approach which is done by data collection techniques through direct observation, document studies, and literature studies.

Abstract

Brahmavihara Arama yang berlokasi di Desa Banjar Tegeha, Kecamatan Banjar, Kabupaten Buleleng merupakan vihara Buddha terbesar di Bali. Vihara ini merupakan tempat suci yang diperuntukkan bagi umat Buddha yang didirikan sejak tahun 1969. Brahmavihara Arama merupakan salah satu destinasi wisata bernuansa religi, edukatif, dan spiritual yang banyak dikunjungi wisatawan mancanegara. Keberadaan vihara ini sangat unik dan menarik karena berada di tengah-tengah komunitas masyarakat Hindu Bali. Terlebih arsitektur vihara tersebut tidak sama dengan vihara yang bercorak kebudayaan Tiongkok, namun lebih dominan menggunakan arsitektur Bali. Fenomena ini tentu memiliki aspek historis dan filosofis yang sarat akan muatan edukatif. Fenomena lainnya adalah adanya aktivitas pelatihan meditasi yang melibatkan wisatawan mancanegara secara terstruktur yang terpusat di vihara ini. Hal tersebut menarik dan penting untuk dikaji lebih jauh, sehingga penelitian ini akan berfokus pada permasalahan materi edukasi yang disosialisasikan kepada wisatawan, serta aktivitas implementasi spiritualitas yang terjadi di Brahmavihara Arama. Penelitian ini mempergunakan Teori Interaksionisme Simbolik dan Teori Fungsionalisme Struktural dalam menganalisis permasalahannya. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa aspek-aspek edukatif yang didapat wisatawan adalah toleransi (respect) dan filosofi pendakian spiritual melalui tahapan-tahapan dalam tiap struktur bangunan suci vihara yang dikunjungi. Sedangkan pola spiritualitas yang diterapkan pada wisatawan yang memang ingin mempelajari meditasi dilakukan secara bertahap. Tahap pertama adalah pengenalan ajaran Metta (kasih sayang universal), kemudian Samatha, yaitu melatih ketenangan melalui anapanasati, yaitu pengaturan napas. Setelah pengaturan napas dan posisi tubuh telah dikuasai barulah lanjut ke tahap Vipassana.
