Abstract

AbstractThe use of humor in da'wah of Islamic communication is something that is widely practiced by some preachers whether it is through religious pulpits or through the internet media called social media, humor is aimed to attract the attention of the audiences and be a part that is always awaited by the audiences in da’wah even though in fact, humor is only a complement in an Islamic da’wah, which is nothing else but to get attention from the audiences. However, the use of humor in the da'wah of Islamic communication sometimes backfires for those who do not pay attention to the standard criteria of humor such as ethical and aesthetic. Thus, based on the results of the analysis of the author that the use of humor in da’wah of Islamic communication is permissible and it becomes a good way as long as the preacher observes that in slipping his humor, he does not forget the propriety set out in the Qur'an and hadith. Keywords: humor, da’wah, Islamic communication

Abstract

The social media is a new means of communication that is widely used in today's modern era, with the features that can provide comfort and convenience in its use and at an affordable cost and even provided for free. There are positive and negative impacts caused by the social media, therefore, the researchers are interested in finding out how to understand communication and social media in order to adapt to the changes that occur in today's modern era. The research method employed is in the form of a descriptive literature review, containing theories and relevant concepts to the research problem. It can be concluded that one way to adapt with social media is based on self-awareness and ethics in communicating both in commenting, opinionating, and conveying information, and strengthening rules regarding the use of social media in order to achieve good communication goals.

Abstract

Digital media is a necessity that always accompanies family activities, this has also become a new habit in family environment in the new normal era and also to adapt to the technological developments and developing communication situations. This phenomenon reinforces that media literacy in family is something that is crucial to be an attention for parents in protecting the family from the consequences that can be caused by the use of digital media which can damage the children’s life and adolescents in family. Hence, the role of parents is needed, such as: (1) Parents have to monitor children's activities so they feel their parents' attention. (2) Parents can play with children while directing children to open content that is useful for their learning development. (3) Parents can provide time limits for children in using digital media to avoid the dangers of addiction. So the negative impacts that can damage the psychology and behavior of children in family such as content that leads to violence, pornography, and cyberbullying as well as foreign cultural influences can be avoided and the positive impacts of digital media can be used well by children.

Abstract

Film is one of mass media that people are most interested in because it delivers picture and sound simultaneously. It also has become the means of educating as well as means of propaganda to spread the cultural values among society. One of film that educating and having moral values is animated film Upin and Ipin. Hence, this research objectives is to analyze the moral values in Upin and Ipin on episode “The Beginning of Ramadhan” and this research is analyzed using framing model of Gamson and Modigliani. The findings report that the moral values in Upin and Ipin animated film episode “The Beginning of Ramadhan” describes positive issues that has moral values in the story which teaches human being to be trustworthy and responsible with the given work and always be honest as well as to have good deeds and words.

Abstract

Fenomena yang terjadi saat ini bahwa masih adanya mahasiswa mengabaikan etika sopan santun yang sudah tertanam sejak dulu yang menjadi dasar bagi kehidupan perkuliahan. Oleh karena itu, penulis tertarik untuk melakukan penelitian etika komunikasi antara mahasiswa dan dosen dalam interaksi akademik melalui media digital. Adapun jenis penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan trigulasi berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Adapun teori yang digunakan yakni teori strategi kesopanan Brown dan Levinson. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa Mahasiswa dan Dosen pada Prodi Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam masing-masing menyadari tentang pentingnya penerapan etika dalam berkomunikasi melalui media digital, dan Mahasiswa sebagian besar sudah berperilaku sopan dan beretika dalam menghubungi dosen melalui media sosial, berdasarkan teori strategi kesopanan Brown dan Levinson yakni mahasiswa menggunakan konsep wajah negatif (negative face) dengan menyampaikan permohonan maaf, dan menggunakan pesan permintaan dan ancaman (FTA) disertai dengan kesopanan negatif. Namun masih terdapat beberapa Mahasiswa yang kurang beretika dalam menyampaikan pesan chat kepada Dosen melalui media sosial seperti menghubungi dosen pada waktu istirahat dan hari libur, penggunaan kalimat yang seakan-akan memerintah Dosen dan tidak menyebutkan identitas dan tujuan yang lengkap dan jelas. Adapun Upaya yang dilakukan Dosen dalam memaksimalkan etika komunikasi Mahasiswa seperti memberikan informasi berupa himbauan dan arahan tentang cara berkomunikasi yang baik melalui media sosial serta menegur secara langsung Mahasiswa jika menyampaikan pesan yang kurang etis atau kurang sopan kepada Dosen melalui media sosial. Kata Kunci: Etika Komunikasi, interaksi akademik, media digital.

Abstract

This research examines the media consumption pattern and preferences among young adults, emphasizing the importance of udnerstanding their engagement with media. Using a survey methid, the data were taken from 50 respondents by considering specific criteria of young adults. The data were taken by using questionnaire through a close-ended questionnaire. the findings reveal that young adults engage with various media platforms, with streaming services and social media being the most popular choices. They spend a significant amount of time consuming media content, primarily in the range of 2-4 hours per day. The preferred media genres include entertainment, music, news, sports, and lifestyle, among others. Infuencers on the media also plays significant role in shaping the attitude and behavior of young adults.
