Abstract

Introduction:A individual who has reached the age of 60 or above is termed elderly. Depression in the elderly can be caused by a decrease in body physiological functions, a decrease in income, separation, the death of a life partner, and other factors. The attitude, action, and acceptance of the family toward its members is the family's function. The aim:This study was conducted in Talapeta Village, Deli Serdang Regency, to determine the description of family function in elderly depression. The data in this study was collected through a questionnaire, which is a qualitative method. Univariate analysis was used to analyze data. The results stated that the highest proportion of respondents were aged 60-74 years old, with 26 respondents (74.2%); the gender of respondents with the highest proportion of women was 24 respondents (68.6%); the marital status of respondents with the highest proportion of widows was 23 respondents (65.7%); and the education of respondents with the highest proportion not attending school was 18 respondents (51.4% ). In Talapeta hamlet, where there was a high proportion of moderate family function and as many as 16 respondents, family function in elderly depression was studied (45.7 % ). Depression in the elderly might be influenced by demographic variables. Conclusion: In depressed elderly people, family function is moderate. Because the elderly live with their families, this is the case. It is intended that the family would pay attention and play an active role in the care of the elderly.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of vitamin D on the repairingof thoracic on patients with pulmonary tuberculosis of Batak ethnic in Medan, conducted on 42 patients with TB, vitamin D group of 21 people and 21 placebo. Giving vitamin D dose of 2.5 mg (100,000 IU) for 4 times (weeks 0, 2, 4, 6) and placebo for 4 times (weeks 0, 2, 4, 6). B. The assessment of vitamin D and thorax photo were done before and after intervention.The results showed that the levels of vitamin D results before and after there is a difference, the measurement results using the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) provisions of the absorbance of each well at a wavelength of 450 ± 10 nm.Vitamin D levels were measured 25 (OH) D nmol / L then further analyzed using paired T test on vitamin D group p = 0:00, mean difference 29.27 + vitamin D levels were 22 ng / ml, whereas the placebo group p = 0:27, the difference of the mean levels of vitamin D 1:36 + 5:53 ng / ml. After examination of thorax photo in hospital then analyzed using Chi-square test. Vitamin D group showed a total improvement (66.7%) while the placebo treatment (33.3%), p = 0:06 concluded there was no effect of vitamin D on the restoration of thorax photo on patients pulmonary tuberculosis Batak ethnic.

Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis is a disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Tuberculosis usually attacks the lungs, which can then attack all parts of the body. WHO in 2017 reported that there were 1.3 million deaths caused by pulmonary tuberculosis and there were 300,000 deaths due to pulmonary tuberculosis. Indonesia is a country with the third rank after India and China in cases of pulmonary tuberculosis. In 2017, the Case Notification Rate/CNR (new cases) number of pulmonary tuberculosis AFB (+) in North Sumatra was 104.3 per 100,000. Purpose: to identify the characteristics of pulmonary tuberculosis patients based on age, gender, education, and occupation. Methods: This type of research is a descriptive study using a total sampling technique of 525 patients. Data analysis using univariate analysis. Results: in terms of age the most at the age of 41-60 years, namely 204 patients (39%), the most gender was male, namely 344 patients (65.5%), the most education was in high school, namely 418 patients (80%) , and the highest number of occupations is self-employed, namely 160 people (31%). Conclusion: the results of this study indicate that based on the characteristics of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis who suffer the most, namely high school education. Suggestion: it is hoped that the hospital will further improve health education to the community, especially for patients with pulmonary tuberculosis

Abstract

The accuracy of the bronchopneumonia case code is that all diagnoses are filled out correctly based on the completeness of filling out the medical record with code J18.0 as the code in the ICD 10 book. Completeness of filling out the medical record is a medical record that has been completely filled out by a doctor within 1x24 hours, after completing outpatient services. or after an inpatient is decided to go home which includes a patient identity sheet, medical resume, and supporting diagnostic examination sheet. Researchers take specific cases of bronchopneumonia because during the practice service at St. Hospital. Elisabeth in 2021 there are 10 files of bronchopneumonia patients, there are 3 medical record files with incorrect codes. Based on this background, researchers are interested in conducting research with the title of code accuracy and completeness of medical records of bronchopneumonia patients at St. Hospital. Elisabeth Medan 2022. The type of research design used was a descriptive design with a sampling method of 82 respondents in total at St.Elisabeth Hospital Medan 2022. The instrument used in data collection was a checklist study documentation. The results of the study obtain that the correct category code was 70 medical records (85.3%) and the incorrect category are 12 medical records (14.7%) medical record files. While the completeness of the patient identity sheet is 85.3%, the medical resume sheet is 85.3%, and the laboratory support results sheet is 81.7% complete.

Abstract

Elderly is an age that has a greater likelihood of experiencing autoimmune, this is based on the statement that the older you get or the older you are, the more likely you are to experience autoimmune. Osteoporosis is a disease with reduced bone mass density caused by several factors, one of which is an unhealthy lifestyle. Lack of knowledge of the elderly about osteoporosis tends to increase the incidence of osteoporosis. The purpose of this study was to describe the knowledge of the elderly about osteoporosis in 2020 with a systematic review technique. The research design used in this study is a systematic review. In the search results, found around 1,270 articles related to the description of the elderly's knowledge about osteoporosis. Based on these inclusion criteria, the researcher discussed 10 articles related to the description of the elderly's knowledge about osteoporosis. have good knowledge, the rest of the respondents have sufficient knowledge 75%, and respondents who have less knowledge 20.8%. Based on the level of knowledge of the elderly, the results studied above can be seen that most of the respondents have sufficient knowledge about osteoporosis. It can be interpreted that the elderly understand enough about osteoporosis, it's just that there are still a few shortcomings. It is hoped that health cadres can provide further information about osteoporosis so that they can increase the knowledge of the elderly to be good and improve the health status of the elderly.

Abstract

Hypertension cases continue to increase worldwide and are the biggest cause of death. In Medan, North Sumatra, the number of hypertensive patients is 7,174 people, and the cause of death is the 4th cause of death. The study aimed to formulate the effectiveness of family-based Dash education on elderly blood pressure at the Kutalimbaru Health Center. This research is a Quasi-Experimental design with one group pretest and posttest design. The population is hypertensive clients at the Kutalimbaru Health Center with a sample of 31 respondents, taken through a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of elderly hypertensive 2-4 years, blood pressure > 140/90 mmHg, age 55 years to 65 years, living with family, receiving medication the same antihypertensive and willing to be a respondent. The instrument used was a sphygmomanometer, a 24-hour Recall observation sheet, and a booklet—analysis with a Wilcoxon sign rank test. Research shows the average systolic blood pressure before 155.16 mmHg after 147.74 mmHg. The average diastolic blood pressure before 85.81 mmHg after 82.26 mmHg. The results of statistical tests showed an effect of family-based education on the blood pressure of older people at the Kutalimbaru Health Center (p = 0.000). The conclusion of family-based education is effective in reducing blood pressure in older people. Suggestions for families are expected to control eating patterns routinely and for older people to have their blood pressure checked regularly at the public health center.
