Abstract

On the dry region of Wonogiri Regency and Pacitan Regency, in the Central Java and East Java Provinces border of Indonesia, there is a potential group of plant which is still disguise from the researchers attention. These wild edible tuberous plant, were actually have potential source of carbohydrate as an alternative to rice or corn inside the forest system or agro-forestry system. Their minimum maintenance, adaptability to drought and shading make them a potential plant as the staple food for the local people residing inside or in the forests buffer zone. Wild taro (Aracaceae family) existence in the forest system or agro-forestry might increase the economic sustainability of forest. Using a Randomized block design method on the 5 plots sample located on the Northern slope of Wonogiri dry-land, the density and distribution type of wild taro and taro-like plants were surveyed. There were six genus of wild tuberous plant with 12 identified species and several endemic species identified. Xantosoma sp has the highest population, and generally the aroid plants have clumped distribution. Current situation of economical importance of other commodity and relationship with human agricultural activities may vary the distribution of Taro.Keywords: Edible wild taro, distribution, altitude

Abstract

Bawang merah (Allium ascalonicum L.) merupakan salah satu komoditas sayuran unggulan yang sejak lama telah diusahakan oleh petani secara intensif, komoditas ini juga merupakan sumber pendapatan dan kesempatan kerja yang memberikan kontribusi cukup tinggi terhadap perkembangan ekonomi wilayah, karena memiliki nilai ekonomi yang tinggi. Bawang merah merupakan salah satu komoditas sayuran unggulan Jawa Timur yang  sangat fluktuatif  harga maupun produksinya. Penelitian dilakukan di kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Trunojoyo Madura di Desa Telang, Kecamatan Kamal, Kabupaten Bangkalan yang berada pada ketinggian ± 3 m di atas permukaan laut dengan jenis tanah grumusol. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan November 2011 sampai dengan Februari 2012. Perlakuan  tinggi bedengan tidak menunjukkan  pengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman bawang merah pada semua parameter. Perlakuan tinggi bedengan 40 cm (T1) cenderung menghasilkan jumlah daun ( 29,66), bobot basah pertanaman (43,37 g) dan bobot basah umbi per bedengan (3450 g)  dan bobot kering umbi per bedengan (8,9 g)  lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan perlakuan tinggi bedengan 50 cm (T2) dan 60 cm (T3). Perlakuan jenis varietas tidak menunjukkan pengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman bawang merah pada semua parameter. Perlakuan varietas Nganjuk (V2) cenderung menghasilkan tinggi tanaman (26,12 cm)  dan jumlah daun (27) lebih tinggi dibandingkan varietas lokal Madura (V1), sedangkan varietas lokal Madura  (V1) cenderung memberikan bobot basah umbi per tanaman (39,24 g) dan bobot basah umbi per bedengan  (3150 g) lebih tinggi dibanding varietas Nganjuk (V2). Perlakuan tinggi bedengan dan dua varietas bawang merah tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang nyata pada semua parameter pengamatan.Kata Kunci : varietas lokal, bawang merah, tinggi bedengan.

Abstract

Menekan laju alih fungsi lahan dan mewujudkan ketahanan pangan di suatu wilayah perlu segera dilakukan. UU No 41 Tahun 2009, PP No 1 Tahun 2011 dan 41/Permentan/OT.140/9/2009 mendesak dilakukan dengan mewujudkan lahan pertanian berkelanjutan. Tujuan penelitian ini memetakan kesesuaian lahan untuk tanaman pangan padi. Metode yang dipergunakan melalui pendekatan pemodelan Sistem Informasi Geografis.  Hasil yang telah didapatkan untuk penggunaan lahan untuk lahan produktif sawah mencapai 34.676,6 Ha (26,58%), Kondisi topografi sebagian besar datar  mencapai 90,3% dari wilayah Bangkalan, Jenis tanah dominan adalah jenis Mediteran Rodik mencapai 37%. Kesesuaian lahan untuk tanaman pangan padi lahan sangat sesuai mencapai  22.074 Ha (16,9%), lahan yang sesuai 16.352 Ha (12,5%), lahan kurang sesuai 30.085 Ha (23,1%) dan lahan tidak sesuai 61.952 (47,5%).Kata kunci: Pemetaan, kesesuaian lahan, SIG

Abstract

Agricultural potential have the highest contribution to Gross Domestic Product Wonogiri (BPS, 2011) because it is proper database agricultural potential is necessary for basic agricultural development planning in particular and the economy in general. In turn can be achieved high revenue. This study aims to provide information on the potential of agriculture in the "Kaki Lawu Selatan" South and provide recommendations on the development of agricultural. From this study the South Lawu Foot Zone can be divided into 4 (four) zones: the upper leg, foot zone central zone, lower leg and foot slope zone. Among these zones, based on the parent material foot zone less potential for commercial agriculture, based on the value of LQ, three priority commodities suspected potential for the avocado fruit, rambutan, breadfruit. Vegetables garlic, carrots and cabbage. Plantation commodities include coffee, cocoa and tobacco / patchouli. Food commodities include cassava, maize and peanuts.Kata kunci : Agricultural potential
