Abstract

The Qur'an Education Park (TPQ) and Tahzhul Qur'an House (RTQ) of the Raudhatul Adzkia Jorong Dalam Koto Nagari Koto Tangah, Tilatang Kamang, and District of Agam have been launched since 2015. The students who study here are free of charge. The operational costs of education and the honorarium for educators come from donations from their community and some nomads. However, this contribution is not sufficient for operational costs. The Department of Chemistry's community service team, Andalas University, collaborated with partners to start a business to solve this problem. The business was carried out using vacant land owned by partners for catfish cultivation. Surveys, program socialization and assisting activities were carried out online using virtual media, while Partners carried out the implementation in the field. Activities carried out were pond preparation, the release of catfish seeds, feeding, sorting, maintenance, harvesting, and marketing cultivated catfish. Based on the evaluation, 5000 seedlings from the released catfish developed well. About 99% of catfish typically growth to a large and even size, while the other 1% growth relatively slowly. Harvested catfish were sold for IDR 18,000/kg for wet fish and IDR 100,000/kg for dried fish. This business has been carried out sustainably by partners, and the profits have been used to support the operational costs of TPQ and RTQ Raudhatul Adzkia.

Abstract

Penelitian cangkang pensi (Corbicula moltkiana) sebagai penyerap zat warna metanil yellow telah dilakukan dengan sistem batch. Kondisi optimum penyerapan terjadi pada pH 4 dan konsentrasi awal 100 mg/L. Proses adsorpsi terjadi mengikuti model isoterm Langmuir dengan nilai R2 adalah 0,886 pada monolayer dengan kapasitas adsorpsi maksimum (qmax) diperoleh 2,591 mg/g. Hasil analisis gugus fungsi cangkang pensi dengan FTIR menunjukkan adanya interaksi antara molekul zat warna metanil yellow dan gugus fungsi. Analisis morfologi permukaan cangkang pensi menggunakan SEM menunjukkan bahwa pori-pori cangkang pensi telah diisi oleh molekul zat warna metanil yellow. Cangkang pensi dapat digunakan sebagai bahan penyerap zat warna metanil yellow di dalam larutan. ABSTRACTThe study of the Pensi Shell (Corbicula moltkiana) to adsorb metanil yellow (MY)dyes  has been investigated. This study was determined by batch system. The optimum conditions of metanil yellow dyes adsorption occurred at pH 4 and initial concentration 100 mg/L. The adsorption process was properly described by Langmuir isotherm model which was indicated by the value of R2=0,886. This confirmed that the adsorption process was monolayer with maximum adsorption capacity (qmax) was 2,591 mg/g. Functional groups analysis by FTIR showed the interactions MY molecule on pensi shell functional groups. Analysis of morphology surface of pensi shell by SEM indicated that the pore was filled by MY molecules. Pensi shell could be used as adsorbent of metanil yellow dyes in aqueous solution.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT Comparative studies on  nutrient uptake ability of rice plants (Oryza Sativa.L) that represent groups of plants dicotyledonous with long beans (Vigna sinensis) representative of the group of plants monocotyledonous have been conducted. The study was conducted on a community farm located in the Village of Sungai Sapih  Padang, at plants are used as the sample is sokan varieties. The root of leaves and fruit as well as beans, the same parts are used as sample.Morphological observations of roots, leaves and fruit using the SEM showed the difference between the rice and beans. While the homogenity for fruit rice and beans especially almost the same. The results of nutrient measurements performed by ICP - MS, elemental carbon is the largest percentage of nutrients in the two plants in average above 50% in all parts of the plant. The percentage of Ca, Mg and N elements in the leaves of beans is higher than in the rice leaves, otherwise the percentage of Si element is higher in the rice plants. Key words: absorption, nutrients, Oryza sativa, Vigna sinensis, ICP-MS

Abstract

 ABSTRACT Carrageenan is a general name for polysacharides, it is made up of sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium sulphat esters of galactose and 3.6-anhydrogalactose units. Research about parameters influencing extraction process of carrageenan from red algae (Eucheuma cottonii) has been studied. The parameters were particle size of red algae, pH of NaOH solution, heating time and heating temperature. About 64.30% of carrageenan was extracted from red algae (Eucheuma cottonii) under optimum condition, 425 µm particle size of red algae, solution pH 8.5, heating time 18 h, and heating temperature 95°C. The FTIR spectra of extracted carrageenan showed the same spectra as the pure carrageenan. Keywords : carrageenan, red algae (Eucheuma cottonii), and extraction
