Abstract

The research aims: 1) to increase lesson plan of writing ability; 2) to increase writing ability lesson proces; 3) to increase achievement of writing ability at students of tenth grade IIS I of SMA Negeri 6 Metro. This research was done by classroom action research approach. Result of this research shown that there is effort of teacher in increasing lesson planing and also increasing writing ability. Average score of writing ability at students of tenth grade IIS I at pre cycle was 65,9 at firt cycle was 71,1 second cycle was 74, 29 and third cycle was 85. It can be concluded that, this research result show that scientific approach can increase students achievement of in writing ability at tenth grade of IIS I of SMA Negeri 6 Metro academic year 2014/2015.Penelitian ini bertujuan sebagai berikut: (1) untuk memperbaiki perencanaan pembelajaran keterampilan menulis; (2) untuk memperbaiki proses pembelajaran keterampilan menulis; (3) untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar keterampilan menulis peserta didik kelas X IIS I melalui pendekatan saintifik. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui pendekatan penelitian tindakan kelas. Hasil penelitian ini, menunjukkan adanya perbaikan pada perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran keterampilan menulis, serta peningkatan kemampuan menulis melalui pendekatan saintifik peserta didik kelas X IIS I SMA Negeri 6 Metro. Nilai rata-rata kemampuan menulis peserta didik kelas X IIS I pada pratindakan 65,9, siklus satu 71,1, siklus dua 74,29, dan siklus tiga 85. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan saintifik dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis peserta didik.Kata kunci: menulis, pendekatan saintifik, peningkatan.

Abstract

The method of this research is a qualitative one, through exploratory study and describing the research focus. This research conducted in the Institute of Education and Training of Lampung Province along 2011. The data of the research are achieved from a natural setting in the Institute. The data achievements were supported by managers of the Institute such as; an Institute Leader, a Secretary, division leaders of ;inter institutes relationship, employee up grading, technical skill training. The data are also achieved from the up grade manager level 3, and 4 training alumni, each 3 persons. The purposes of this research are; (a) to describe the method of organizational learning of the education and training institute of Lampung Province (b) to describe main reason why the learning method was chosen. (c) to describe process of organizational learning of the Institute. This research finds that; (a) method of organizational learning implemented in the research focus is adaptive learning one. In this matter, all members always effort to fulfill all of related regulations. They change to adapt with their environment. (b) The reconstructive learning for the organization is unable to implement. This kind of learning demands members to review goals determined. The method of Process learning/deutro learning as the highest learning level where all of the members always find new learning ways of organizational learning is not also implemented. These disabilities are caused by regulations of the organization and individuals disabilities. (c) The process of adaptive learning method can be implemented without design, if members of organization initiate to learn individually and always effort to obey to all of related regulations.Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif melalui studi eksplorasi dan mendiskripsikan fokus penelitian. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Bandiklatda Provinsi Lampung tahun 2011. Data penelitian didapatkan dari situasi alami yang didukung dengan informan dari penyelenggara utama organisasi Bandiklatda Provinsi Lampung, yaitu Kepala Badan, Sekretaris Badan, Kepala Bidang; Hubungan Antar Lembaga ,diklat penjenjangan, diklat teknis-fungsional, pendukung lain adalah para alumni Diklat Pimpinan eselon 3 dan 4, masing masing sebanyak 3 orang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah : (a) mendiskripsikan metode belajar organisasi yang diterapkan oleh Bandiklatda Provinsi Lampung (b) mendiskripsikan alasan pokok pemilihan metode belajar organisasi Bandiklatda Provinsi Lampung, (c) mendiskripsikan proses belajar organisasi Bandiklatda Provinsi Lampung. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (a) metode belajar organisasi yang diterapkan di Bandiklatda Provinsi Lampung adalah metode belajar organisasi adaptif (adaptif learning), di mana para anggota organisasi selalu berusaha memenuhi peraturan yang berlaku. Mereka melakukan perubahan karena tuntutan lingkunganya. (b) Belajar organisasi secara rekonstruktif (reconstructive learning) di mana para anggotanya dituntut untuk mengkaji ulang tujuan yang telah ditetapkan belum dapat diterapkan. Process learning/deutro learning yang merupakan fase belajar tertinggi, di mana para anggota organisasi selalu mengkaji cara-cara baru belajar oeganisasi juga belum diterapkan. Hal ini disebabkan faktor regulasi organisasi dan ketidakpahaman penyelenggara organisasi akan pentingnya belajar organisasi.. (c) Proses belajar adaptif di Bandiklatda Provinsi Lampung bisa dilaksanakan tanpa dirancang terlebih dahulu ketika para pegawai melakukan inisiatif belajar untuk memenuhi tujuan individunya, dan selalu berusaha mematuhi peraturan atau norma yang berlaku.Kata kunci: Belajar organisasi, latihan, pendidikan

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis kesalahan dan persentase kesalahan yang dibuat oleh siswa dalam menggunakan simple past tense pada teks recount tertulis. Metode yang diguakan adalah metode deskriptif. Sumber data diperoleh dari siswa kelas tiga SMAN 1 Pringsewu. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, hasil kesalahan yang dibuat oleh siswa sebanyak 200 item. Frekuensi kesalahan tertinggi berdasarkan Surface Strategy Taxonomy adalah misformation yaitu 111 (55.50%). Frekuensi selanjutnya adalah omission yaitu 42 kesalahan (21,00%), diikuti addition yaitu 24 kesalahan (12,00%), dan yang terendah adalah misordering yaitu 23 kesalahan (11,50%). Kemudian, berdasarkan Communicative Effect Taxonomy, kesalahan global yaitu 27 item (13,50% ) dan kesalahan lokal yaitu 173 item (86,50%). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa masih melakukan semua jenis tipe kesalahan, mereka masih memiliki masalah dengan tata bahasa Inggris.The purposes of this research were to find out the types of errors and the percentages of errors made by the students in using simple past tense in writing recount text. The method was descriptive method. The sources of data were the third grade students of SMAN 1 Pringsewu. Based on the results of the analysis, the result of errors that was made by the students were 200 items. The highest frequency of errors based on Surface Strategy Taxonomy was misformation that was 111 (55.50%). The next frequencies were omission that was 42 errors (21.00%), followed by addition that was 24 (12.00%), and the lowest one was misordering consisted of 23 errors or (11.50%). Then, based on Communicative Effect Taxonomy, global errors were counted for 27 items (13.50%) and local errors were 173 items (86.50%). The conclusion of this research was most of the students still committed all types of errors, they still had problem with English grammar.Keywords: communicative effect taxonomy, recount text, simple past tense, surface strategy taxonomy

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti apakah ada peningkatan signifikan pada keterampilan pemahaman menulis siswa setelah penerapan teknik roundtable selama lima kali pertememuan. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 29 siswa tingkat pertama sekolah menengah atas. Tes menulis digunakan sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan Repeated Measure t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada kemampuan menulis siswa dengan tingkat signifikansi 0.05. Hal ini menandakan bahwa teknik roundtable dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa.The objectives of this research were to find out whether there was a statistically significant difference of students’ writing ability after the students were taught through roundtable technique for five meetings. The approach of the research was quantitative. The subjects were 29 students of the first grade of senior high school. The writing tests were used as the research instrument. The data were analyzed by using Repeated Measure t-test. The result showed that there was a statically significant difference of the students’ writing ability with the significant level 0.05. This suggests that roundtable technique facilitates the students to improve their ability in writing skills.Keywords: writing, writing ability, roundtable technique

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan nilai membaca siswa melalui aktifitas membaca terbimbing. Responden pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 11 berjumlah 28 siswa. Peneliti menggunakan desain penelitian one pre-test post-test design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata meningkat hingga 23.38 dari 58.43 menjadi 81.71 dengan nilai total meningkat dari 1636 hingga 2288. Nilai t-test menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan (p0.05, p=0.000). Hal ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan aktifitas membaca terbimbing meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa.The objective of this research was to find out whether there is improvement on students reading comprehension through the implementation of guided reading activity. The sample of this research was grade XI numbering of 28 students. The researcher used one pre-test post-test design. The researcher found out that there is an improvement in students reading comprehension after being taught by guided reading activity. The mean of students gain score was 23.38 from 58.43 up to 81.71 with total 2288.The t-test also revealed that the result was significant (p0.05, p=0.000). It indicates that the implementation of guided reading activity improves students reading comprehension.Keywords: guided reading activity, reading comprehension, reading

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti i) apakah ada peningkatan signifikan pada keterampilan pemahaman menulis siswa sebelum dan setelah penerapan authentic material ii) aspek menulis yang paling meningkat setelah penerapan authentic material. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 30 siswa tingkat kedua SMP. Tes menulis digunakan sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan Repeated Measure t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada kemampuan menulis siswa dengan tinggat signifikansi 0.05. Isi adalah aspek menulis yang paling meningkat setelah penerapan authentic material. Hal ini menandakan bahwa authentic material dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa.Kata Kunci: Menulis, Descriptive Text, Authentic Material. The objectives of this research were to investigate whether there was statisfically significant improvement of the students’ ability in writing descriptive texts after being taught through the authentic materials. The data were analyzed by using Repeated Measure t-test. The result showed that there was a statically significant difference of the students’writing achievement with the significant level 0.05. Furthermore, content is the aspect of writing improves the most after the implementation of authentic materials. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti: i) peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman membaca teks naratif siswa melalui penerapan strategi Competitive Learning. Penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan one-group pretest - posttest design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 30 siswa SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Bandar Lampung. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui pre test dan post test. Kemudian, data tersebut dianalisis dengan menggunakan Repeated Measures Sample T-test. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pencapaian murid dalam pemahaman membaca naratif text meningkat dengan signifikan level sebesar 0.05. Ini menunjukkan bahwa strategi Competitive Learning membantu siswa dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa. This research was aimed at investigating: i) the improvement of students’reading comprehension achievement in narrative texts after the students were taught through Competitive Learning Strategy. This study was quantitative research with one-group pretest - posttest design of pre-experimental design. The subjects of this research were 30 students of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Bandar Lampung. The data were obtained from the pre test and the post test. The data were analyzed by using Repeated Measures Sample T-test. The results showed that the students’ reading comprehension achievement in narrative texts increased with the significance level 0.05. This suggests that Competitive Learning strategy facilitates the students to improve their reading comprehension achievement.

Abstract

Abstract:The objective of this research is to find out whether peer correction canincrease students’ accuracy in writing descriptive text. The population and sampleof this research were the second year students of SMPN 22 Bandar Lampung thatis class VIII.H which consists of 30 students. This research was a quantitativeresearch. The data were collected by using two writing tests: pre-test and post-test.The hypothesis was tested using Paired Sample T-Test.The result of the test shows that there is a significant increase from the pre test topost test after being taught by using a peer correction. The application of thetechnique also increases three aspects in their accuracy in writing: grammar 43.67up to 67.33, vocabulary 47.33 up to 64.67, and spelling 47.33 up to 66.67.Based on the finding above, it can be concluded that peer correction can increasestudents’ accuracy in writing descriptive text. Peer correction is effective toincrease the students’ accuracy. Abstract

Tujuan penilitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan yang signifikan pada nilai menulis siswa antara siswa yang diajar melalui materi otentik dan modifikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan dilaksanakan pada 32 siswa kelas VIII3 dan 32 siswa kelas VIII4. Test menulis digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Data dihitung menggunakan Independent Group T-Test of SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan pada nilai menulis siswa antara siswa yang diajar melalui materi otentik dan modifikasi. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari nilai rata-rata siswa pada kelas VIII3 meningkat dari 69.37 (pre-test) ke 80.04 (post-test) dan pada kelas VIII4 nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat dari 69.34 (pre-test) ke 82.62 (post-test). Dengan kata lain, materi modifikasi lebih baik digunakan untuk mengajar menulis teks deskriptif bahasa Inggris dibandingkan dengan materi otentik.The aim of this research was to find out whether or not there was a significant difference of the students writing achievement between students who were taught through authentic and modified materials. This research used quantitative approach and was conducted to 32 students in class VIII3 and 32 students in class VIII4. Writing test was used to collect the data. The data were calculated by using Independent Group T-Test of SPSS. The result of the data analysis showed that there was a significant difference of the students writing achievement between students who were taught through authentic and modified materials. It could be seen from students mean score in class VIII3 increased from 69.37 (pre-test) to 80.04 (post-test) and in class VIII4, students mean score increased from 69.34 (pre-test) to 82.62 (post-test). In short, modified material was better for teaching descriptive text writing English than authentic material.Keywords: authentic material, modified material, writing achievement.
