Abstract

A hemophiliac boy was hospitalized due to head injury in the previous sixteen days. On admission the' consciousness decreased and visus of both eyes was 1/on. CT scan showed blood clot in the area of dorsomedial of medial cerebral arteria and sign of hydrocephalus. A surgical procedure could not be taken due to lack of facilities (antihemophilic factor supply and assay of factor VIII activity). The patient was given 6 cryoprecipitate everyday and supportive treatment as indicated. Fortunately the patient recovered, no neurologic complication occurred except the visus of the right eye that was still 1/oo and the hydrocephalus decreased.Key words : hemophilia - laboratory diagnostics - head injury - hydrocephalus and decreased visus - cryoprecipitate

Abstract

Thalassemia is a great health problem in the affected countries, especially in the developing countries including Indonesia. There is no curative therapy up to now, while the supportive therapy should be done life4ong and such therapy brings many problems to the patients and an enormous burden to the community who should afford the health services.Ninety thalassemia syndrome, at Dr. Sardjito General Hospital during the period of 1986-1992 were retrospectively studied. The diagnosis was based on clinical manifestations, routine blood examination, HbF investigation either with alkali denaturation test or electrophoresis and on the evidence of trait in the parents. Thirty six patients had undergone molecular studies. Aspects of therapy were also studied.The study found that 57 and 33 patients were major thalassemia and thalassemia-hemoglobin E disease, respectively. There was no difference between major thalassemia and thalassemia-hemogolobin E disease in term of male and female proportion (p > .05), and on the level (p > .05). Foutty eight patients came from Yogyakarta Province, the rest came from various parts of Java, especially nearby Yogyakarta Province. Compared with the estimation, we conclude that many thalassemic patients had not yet been covered. The expenses for supportive therapy were so great, while most of the patients belonged to the middle to low sosioeconomic level, so that only 30-40% had come regularly for routine transfusion. Among the 36 patients who underwent molecular studies, 31 have been genotypically identified. Molecular diagnostic was aimed at the first step of prenatal diagnosis.Key words: thalassemia syndrome-thalassemia trait-blood transfusion-molecular study-prenatal diagnosis

Abstract

Since the first description in 1925, thalassemia has been studied intensively and extensively. Thalassemia is inherited by Mendelian recessive genes, in which there is a mutation or deletion of the DNA nucleotide or results in defective production of one or more globin chains of the hemoglobin. There are two important forms of tha/assemias, a- and ft-thalassemia that are health problems in the tropical belt, extending from Africa and Meditenanian countries up to West Melanesia. The molecular studies of thalassemia and other hemoglobinopathies had discovered such a lot of abnormal hemoglobin structures and pathogenesis of the disease, so that the hemoglobin is now indeed a paradigm for our understanding of gene action at the molecular level. The thalassemia occurs essentially due to deletion, whereas 13thalassemia is mostly due to mutation of the gene(s). The understanding of the molecular pathogenesis of thalassemia is very essential for the diagnosis of the trait and especially for prenatal diagnosis, and in the future might be for genetic therapy.Key Words: thalassemia gene deletion gene mutation polymerise chain reaction haemoglobin

Abstract

Hemorrhagic diathesis in pediatrics, covering the mechanism of hemostasis and the diagnostic and therapeutic aspects, is discussed.Hemorrhagic cases due to various causes are not uncommon in children. It is essential to understand aspects of hemorrhagic diathesis to be able to manage such cases efficiently. The diagnostic approach should be in an ordered fashion. By such a way and by understanding the principles of management, even with limited facilities, we can diagnose and treat many cases and at least recognize difficult cases and act appropriately before referring.Key Words: hemorrhagic diathesis - mechanism of hemostasis - hemophilia - purpura - hypoprothrombinemia

Abstract

This research aims to determine the percent recovery of gold (Au) and silver (Ag) in the electronic waste such as CD-RW and determine the purity of gold and silver metals in the electronic waste such as CD-RW that through multilevel precipitation process. The first step was the optimization of the concentration of thiourea and time dissolution of gold and silver in the sample. The concentration of thiourea and the time dissolution optimum obtained from conentration of gold and silver maximum. By The percent recovery of gold and silver are determined by comparing the concentration of gold and silver between in the solution sample and in the sample without dissolution that be analyzed by XRF. The scond step was the multilevel precipitation process and calcination. Precipitation and calcination of the filtrat was dissolution results in the optimum condition. Reagent used was a solution of hydrochloric acid and potassium carbonate. The precipitation gold and silver produced from the precipitation of dissolution again and then be analyzed by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The purity was determined by comparing the weight of gold and silver between in the precipitate and in the solution.  The results of this research showed that the percent recovery of the silver in the CD-RW through the process dissolution with thiourea 10 g/L and 4 hours soaking time were 21.09 %. The purity silver preipitate were 0.15 %. The percent recovery and the purity of gold can  not be determined because the gold contained in the sample were not detected or below the limit of detection equipment. Keywords: recovery, gold, silver, electronic  waste

Abstract

Estetika musik Barat telah dikaji sejak ratusan tahun, yang telah dimulai sejak sebelum Masehi. Dalam perjalanan sejarahnya tersebut telah mengalami berbagai perubahan ide atau konsep tentang estetika musik. Hal tersebut tidak bisa dilepaskan dari roh tiap zaman di mana musik itu hidup berdampingan dengan disiplin yang lain. Ide atau konsep estetika musik selalu dipengaruhi oleh hal-hal di luar musik itu sendiri, seperti: budaya, sosial, dan politik. Para tokoh estetika musik berdebat tentang estetika musik, sesuai dengan ideologi mereka masing-masing. Perdebatan tersebut mencapai puncaknya terjadi antara Eduard Hanslick dan Richard Wagner. Keduanya berbeda ideologi: Hanslick seorang akademi dan kritikus musik; sedang Wagner seorang komposer dan juga penulis musik. Perdebatan keduanya telah menghiasi iklim intelektual dalam bidang musik sejak era Romantik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi penyebab dan cara penyelesaian konflik antara manajemen dan serikat pekerja. Desain penelitian ini adalah studi kasus menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melakukan wawancara. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 4 orang unsur manajemen dan 6 orang unsur serikat pekerja di PT. Dok & Perkapalan Kodja Bahari (Persero). Hasil penelitian menemukan faktor penyebab konflik : tertundanya pemenuhan hak normatif, komitmen sering tidak ditepati, dan kurang komunikasi yang harmonis antara manajemen dengan serikat pekerja. Pada penelitian ini juga menemukan cara penyelesaian konflik dengan membangun komunikasi efektif antara manajemen dan serikat pekerja melalui : komunikasi langsung, hubungan kekeluargaan dan berkesinambungan, kepercayaan dan komitmen serta keterbukaan informasi terhadap seluruh serikat pekerja yang ada.Penelitian ini memiliki implikasi praktis terhadap manajemen, sehingga serikat pekerja menyadari kondisi perusahaan, peran dan tanggung jawabnya sebagai mitra, membangun kepercayaan terhadap manajemen , yang pada akhirnya meminimkan terjadinya konflik. Problem pencemaran lingkungan sudah sangat dirasakan di negarakita, diperlukan metode analisis yang handal sehingga dapat memberiinformasi yang benar mengenai tingkat pencemaran lingkungan.Penggunaan metode standar adisi dapat memperkecil kesalahananalisis yang disebabkan oleh perbedaan rnatrik. Prinsip dari metodestandar adisi adalah sampel dan standar. Metoda ini sangat cocokditerapkan dalam menentukan tingkat pencemaran lingkungan.

Abstract

Abstrak Kabupaten Bandung Barat merupakan wilayah yang sedang berkembang dan melakukan pembangunan dari berbagai aspek. Untuk memajukan kawasan Kabupaten Bandung Barat ini diperlukan sarana pendidikan yang memadai, salah satunya dengan didirikan Sekolah Tinggi Astronomi. Dengan Adanya Sekolah Tinggi Astronomi ini dapat memberikan fasilitas pendidikan bagi masyarakat serta turut mewujudkan visi misi Kabupaten Bandung Barat dengan meningkatkan kualitas SDM di bidang Astronomi. Tema galaksi sebagai metafora dari disain rancangan arsitektur Sekolah Tinggi Astronomi sesuai dengan ilmu astronomi. Pemilihan tema tersebut dipakai untuk memadukan ciri-ciri bentuk dan pola dari galaksi kedalam perancangan arsitektur sehingga dihasilkan rancangan yang memberikan nilai arsitektur yang spesifik dan unik. Permasalahannya, bagaimana menerapkan tema tersebut dalam tapak yang berkontur. Metoda yang dipakai dalam merancang adalah metoda kualitatif dan observasi lapangan. Hasil dari perancangan disain arsitektur Sekolah Tinggi Astronomi ini dapat dilihat dari pola tatanan massa dan bangunan yang mengadopsi filosofi karakter galaksi dengan pola terpusat dan massa – massa pendukung disekitarnya. Kata kunci: Pusat pendidikan, Sekolah Tinggi Astronomi, Metafora Galaksi, Abstract West Bandung Regency is a growing area and the construction of various aspects. The selection of the theme used to combine the characteristics of galaxy shapes and patterns into architectural design to produce a design that gives the value of the specific and unique architecture. The problem is, how to apply the theme within the contoured tread. The method is used in designing qualitative methods and field observations. Results of design architectural design High School Astronomy can be seen from the pattern of mass order and adopted the philosophy that building character galaxies with centralized patterns of galaxies with masses of supporters around them. Abstract

Abstract: Health Promotion, Book KIA, Pengetahuan Antenatal Care. Mother and child health in Indonesia is still a major problem. It can be seen from the maternal mortality rate (MMR) that is still high. According to the extrapolation Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2007 MMR at 248 per 100,000 live births, while the MDG's target of 2015 was 102/100.000 KH (Department of Health, 2008). In Klaten district from 2005 to 2008 maternal mortality rate has decreased. In 2005 AKI showed 0.61, by 2006 MMR decreased by 0.47, in 2007, maternal mortality was 1.31, while in 2008 rose to 1.33 in 2009 and decreased to 0.98 (Klaten District Health Profile , 2009). Kesehatan Ibu dan Anak (KIA) is a book containing instruments to record the mother and child health condition, and consists of the guide for health promotion for mothers and their families, as well as a means of communication between health professionals and families. Research Objective is to know the impact of health promotion using books KIA t the increased knowledge and antenatal care to pregnant women in the health centers Ceper. The study was experiment with a survey approach. The study design is one group pre test - post test. Result shows the knowledge level of pregnant women about the Maternal and Child Book in Health Center Ceper Klaten area in 2011 was moderate level before being given a book MCH 28 (56%).After reading the book, the majority of pregnant mother which is 45 (90%) have a high level of knowledge with significance of 0001 and the r value correlation is low (0.389). The knowledge of antenatal care before being given the book at moderate level account 29 (58%) and after being given KIA book, the majority of pregnant mother, 39 (70%) have a high level of knowledge with significance 0:00 and r value 0,441 that means the correlation was moderate.
