Abstract

At least 13 million tons of kaolin claystone lie in several regencies of South Kalimantan covering Banjar, Tapin, Hulu Sungai Utara and Kotabaru regencies. This paper reports an attempt to explore their crystalline state characteristics, projecting their potential use for geopolymer. Sungai Tabuk, Cintapuri and Tatakan, due to their largest kaolin claystone deposits, were chosen as the sampling sites. The kaolin samples were prepared by syphoning method prior to X-ray diffraction (XRD) characterizations in determining their crystalline phases. X’Pert HighScore Plus and Rietica software were respectively responsible for the qualitative and quantitative phase analyses. The qualitative analysis used search and match method at peak position and peak height between measured and calculated diffraction patterns. Our study revealed the existence of two main phases in the sample, i.e. quartz (SiO2) and kaolinite (Al2Si2O5(OH)4). In addition, the Quantitative analysis used the Rietveld method with the least squares method approach. Rietveld refinement was based on a goodness of fit score of less than 4% by minimizing the difference in the character of the diffraction pattern (position, height, width and peak shape) between the observed and the calculated XRD patterns. The Rietveld quantitative analysis shows, Tatakan is an area with kaolinite-richest deposit (±84%), followed by Cintapuri (±76%) and Tabuk (±70%); quartz is found in reverse.

Abstract

Pada aktivitas pertambangan tidak luput dari jam operasional yang tinggi di daerah batubara dan suhu di sekitar mencapai 34o celsius yang berpotensi menyebabkan kebakaran pada unit komatsu WA600-3 (Wheel Loader). WA600-3 beroperasi di stock pile batubara menyebabkan panas berlebih (overheat) karena suhu di sekitar stock pile ataupun panas dari kebocoran sistem hidrolik yang menyebabkan menempelnya fine coal yang menyebabkan kebakaran. Penambahan proteksi kebakaran fire supression tipe LOP (Lose Of Pressure) dapat meminimalkan kerusakan dan kerugian pada saat terjadi kebakaran di PT. Kalimantan Prima Persada site Rantau. Sistem ini sangat efektif untuk mencegah unit terbakar karena aktif dengan suhu kerja (160 – 180o Celsius) pada detection tubing saat terjadi kebakaran dan juga bisa di aktifkan secara manual lewat knob internal actuator atau external actuator.

Abstract

Abstract. Performance appraisal is one of the important components in the rational and systematic process of human resources management. The Primary reason for having a performance appraisal program is to monitor employee’s performance, motivate staff and improve the company morale. In PT Mantu, the monitoring employee performance requires routine is from the attendance there is still use manual attendance, which is accomplished through completing a performance appraisal form which call “Amano”. The current performance appraisal system is not have the formal procedure so that the effect for the employees is perceived unfairness of the performance review during the performance appraisal process. This research is done using quantitative and qualitative data to know the employee performance appraisal system in current system and how to improve this system to the future in PT Mantu. The current employee performance appraisal system in PT Mantu cannot increase the employee performance and increase the employee productivity because the company not clearly criteria to appraise the employee performance. Not have the formal procedure to performance appraisal process. Not use the formal performance appraisal form. This research have the recommendation such as: design of performance appraisal, the criteria of employee performance appraisal system is, method of employee performance appraisal and period of employee performance appraisal. Keywords: Employee Performance Appraisal, Performance Appraisal

Abstract

Water hyacinth is a water plant species of the most dominating in the waters –waters or rivers - rivers. Water hyacinth has the ability to multiply very quickly that in aninstant the surface waters can be closed by the presence of water hyacinth. Researchshows that the extent of cover of water hyacinth is now more widely because of the abilityof growing 2.6 times faster in open water. This can be overcome by using water hyacinthand processes it into compost, because the water hyacinth contains a very high watercontent of 96%, then to reduce the water content is added bulking agent and to acceleratethe composting process that is able to degrade added bioactivator water hyacinth.In this study the materials used are water hyacinth, and as a bulking agent iszeolite, bentonite, sawdust. Then the water hyacinth and bulking agent are mixed, thenaddedbioactivator Primadek, EM4 and, on each - each treatment. The composting processusing aerobic composter. The composting process is stopped when the C / N ratio hasreached the limit required by the SNI Compost (10-20). This process is conducted in adevice called a composter.The results showed that, for the treatment of water hyacinth with zeolite andcompostEM4 mature at day 14, water hyacinth with bentonite and EM4 pda day 15. In general,the resulting compost compost quality standards (SNI 19-7030-2004), unless the ratio ofC / N for EG + SG + EM4 newly reached 43.88. Based on the results of VarianceAnalysis (Anova) followed by DMRT showed that the addition of bulking agent and fortreatment bioactivator + Z + EM4 EG and EG + B + EM4 significantly different in C / Nratio of compost but not significantly different in content of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P)and potassium (K).

Abstract

Energy audit is a technique that is used to calculate the amount of energy consumption and identify ways to the savings that includes the inspection activities to determine whether there is a deviation in an activity energy use . The purpose of the study was to determine the condition of the use of energy and look for improving the efficiency of energy use . Consumption energy on 2014 is 1.843.684,49 kWh. From the calculation and analysis shows IKE value on existing buildings diarea work, where there is a value that does not match the standard of which is the IKE BLH with a value of 21.15 kWh / m² / month , BLJ with a value of 19.84 IKE kWh / m² / month , BLK with IKE value of 15.26 kWh / m² / month, and Group Leader Room with IKE value of 37.37 kWh / m² / month. The circuit of the motor there are using star delta on BLH and BLU and soft starter on BLJ and BLK .From these data it can be concluded and carried out repairs on the value IKE by using energy-saving lamps corresponding ISO standard, while the Mega Tower can be done setting the timer on / off with the manual where it is currently night conditions No activity can be reduced coal shipments lighting without prejudice to the rules in the Occupational Health and Safety ( K3 ). And than on non-standard air conditioner can be done replacement AC power in accordance with existing standards and the use of AC technology uses inverter. For the electric motor can still be changed by using a series of soft starter or the inverter to be able to save energy and extend component life. Keywords : energy savings , energy audits , energy efficiency
