Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine between increased ability to think creatively and mathematical communication students who take the learning project-based learning and students who received conventional learning. The research sample was taken randomly. The instrument used was a test form of essay questions given in pretest and posttest to see an increase, as well as about the student activity sheet that would be a reference in the debate. Based on statistical data analysis using t-test showed that the increase in the ability to think creatively and communication students acquire mathematical learning project-based learning was better than students who received conventional learning. Based on the analysis statistical data by using the Two-Way ANOVA showed that there was no interaction between the model of learning by the student's ability level to increase the ability of creative thinking and mathematical communication students

Abstract

The use of cooperative learning model type of Think-Pair-Share  is needed in order  to helps students of  learning to communicate mathematically as stated ideas, ask questions and respond question, and to developed students' mathematical disposition. This study aims to find out about increasing the ability of communication and mathematical disposition among students taught through cooperative learning model Think-Pair-Share with the students taught conventionally. This study uses a quantitative approach to the experimental method. The population in this study were all students of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Bireuen and take samples of the two classes (class experimental and control) with the selection of the sample through purposive sampling technique. Collecting data in this study using two different tests and instrument the nontes. Instrument tests the ability of mathematical communication and mathematical disposition nontes include scale and observation sheets. To look at the differences increased communication ability and mathematical disposition on the experimental and control classes using the Mann Whitney test with a significance level of 0.05, and to see the interaction between learning models and the grouping of students to increase communication ability and dispositions mathematically using ANOVA two lanes. Statistical test results were analyzed using SPSS 17.0. Based on the results: (1) Increase the ability of mathematical communication between students taught through cooperative learning model TPS better than students taught conventionally based on: 1) The whole student, and 2) grouping of students. (2) There is a model of the interaction between learning and grouping of students to increase mathematical communication ability. (3) Improved mathematical dispositions among students taught through cooperative learning model TPS better than students taught conventionally based on: 1) The whole student, and 2) grouping of students. (4) There is a model of the interaction between learning and grouping of students to increase mathematical disposition. (5) The response of students towards learning math using cooperative learning model TPS is positive.

Abstract

This research was aimed to know: (1) the difference of the increasing of understanding mathematical ability who get the learning process through MMP model by using online math game and students who get the learning process conventionally; (2) the difference of the increasing of students’ motivation who get the learning process through MMP model by using online math game and students who get the learning process conventionally; (3) the interaction between learning model by the level of students on their mathematics increasing of understanding mathematical ability; (4) the interaction between learning model by the students’ level on the students motivation increasing. This research used quantitative approach by quasi experiment method. The populations were all students of grade VII SMA Arun-Lhokseumawe–Aceh which consisted of five classes. As the sample were taken randomly namely class VII-C as experiment class and class VII-B as controlled class. The research instrument was the ability of mathematics understanding in essay form, motivation questioner of students and observation sheets. Data were analyzed by t-test and Anova. The analysis with result show indicated that (1) the increasing of the students’ understanding mathematical ability taught through MMP teaching model by using online math game was better than those who were taught conventionally; (2) the increasing of motivation which’s taught through MMP teaching model by using online math game was better than those who were taught conventionally; (3) there was no interaction between learning model by students’ level on student’s mathematic of understanding mathematical ability; (4) there was an interaction between learning model by students’ level on the increasing of the students’ motivation.

Abstract

The ability of communication is one of the mathematical ability to be mastered by students in learning mathematics. Students who have good mathematical communication skills will be able to create a diverse representation in solving problem. This will facilitate the students in making a variety of alternative settlement so as to enhance the students' ability in solving mathematical problems. One of approach to learning that is likely to improve mathematical communication skills and self-efficacy students is discursive approach. This research is experimental research with quantitative approach. The aim is to obtain an increase in mathematical communication skills and self-efficacy of students by using a discursive approach is reviewed by the entire student and student grouping. This study used a pretest - posttest  the control group. The data of mathematical communication ability collecting using test and the data of student self-efficacy collecting by questionnaire. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the improvement of students' mathematical communication skills are taught using a discursive approach is better than the improvement of students' mathematical communication skills are taught using the conventional approach based on the students' overall well-reviewed and reviewed based on level students. For self-efficacy concluded that there are differences increase in self-efficacy between students taught with the discursive approach better than students who were taught using the conventional approach. Based on the analysis concluded that there is an interaction between the factors of teaching approach and leveling students with.The improvement of students' mathematical communication skills while learning approach to factors and level of students to self-efficacy of students there is no interaction.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the difference between the improvement of mathematical creativity and self-confidence of students after PMR-based humanistic learning based on student level (high, medium, and low), and interaction between the learning levels of students after application of humanistic learning with PMR based on mathematical creativity of students. This study used a purely experimental research with research design shaped in "pre test - post test". The samples of this study were randomly choosen, and two classes were taken, namely class X-MIA4 as the experimental class (PMR-based humanistic learning), while class X-MIA7 as the control class (conventional learning). The instrument used was a mathematical creativity tests and questionnaires of self-confidence. The statistical test (the t-test of independent sample t-test) was used to analyze the data. The results showed that there were differences increase between mathematics creativity and self-confidence of students after the applied learning humanistic-based PMR and students who received conventional learning, both overall and by subgroups, and there was an interaction between the learning strategies and subgroups of students (high, medium and low) to creativity math students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matemastis antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan pendekatan CTL dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional, untuk menelaah perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah antara siswa dengan kemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang dan rendah pada siswa yang belajar dengan pendekatan CTL, untuk melihat apakah terdapat pengaruh atau interaksi antara faktor pendekatan pembelajaran yang diberikan dengan faktor kategori kemampuan siswa menyangkut peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman dan pemecahan masalah siswa, untuk Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan dua kelas, yakni kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan pre-test post-test group design. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTsN Rukoh Banda Aceh, sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah dua kelas yaitu VIII-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII- 4 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data dilakukan secara kuantitatif dilakukan terhadap rataan gain ternormalisasi antara kedua kelompok sampel dengan menggunakan Uji-t. Pengolahan data menggunakan Software SPSS 14,0 for Window dan Microsoft Office Excel 2007. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan kontekstual dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman dan pemecahan masalah siswa ditinjau secara keseluruhan dan kategori kemampuan matematika siswa. Pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan kontekstual secara signifikan lebih baik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

Geometri adalah cabang matematika yang diajarkan dengan tujuan agar siswa dapat memahami sifat-sifat dan hubungan antar unsur geometri serta dapat menjadi pemecah masalah yang baik. Masih banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam belajar geometri. Salah satu penyebab sulitnya siswa dalam memahami geometri adalah strategi pembelajaran yang digunakan tidak sesuai dengan materi yang diajarkan. Selain itu, dalam pembelajaran geometri selama ini belum disesuaikan dengan tingkat perkembangan berpikir siswa. Oleh karena itu diperlukan strategi yang tepat yang disusun berdasarkan tingkat perkembangan berpikir siswa dalam geometri. Pembelajaran berbasis teori van Hiele merupakan pembelajaran yang disesuaikan dengan tahapan berpikir siswa, sehingga pembelajaran ini tepat jika diterapkan dalam pembelajaran geometri. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah geometri antara siswa yang diajarkan dengan pembelajaran kooperatif berbasis teori van Hiele dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain pretes-postes control group design. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes pemecahan masalah dan VHGT. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII MTsN Model Banda Aceh dan sampel yang dipilih adalah kelas VII-11 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII-10 sebagai kelas kontrol. Data yang dianalisis yaitu data N-Gain kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol dengan perolehan nilai sig. 0,000 0,05 pada uji-t yang dilakukan. Selanjutnya, dari pengujian x2 diperoleh bahwa terdapat hubungan antara tingkat berpikir dengan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan kategori tingkat keeratan hubungan adalah cukup (0,421). Dengan demikian, dalam pembelajaran geometri disarankan untuk menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis teori van Hiele agar kemampuan pemecahan masalah geometri siswa dapat ditingkatkan. Kata Kunci:     Pemecahan Masalah Geometri, Pembelajaran Kooperatif Berbasis van Hiele.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the differences between improvement of mathematical reasoning abilities of students who obtain a model of learning through discovery learning and students who received conventional teaching. This research was a quantitative study with experimental method, that has pretest-posttest group design. The population was all students at MTsN Lambalek by taking samples of two classes, namely class-VIIIA as the experimental class and VIIIB as the control class. Then, the data were collected by using testing techniques. The collected data were analyzed by ANOVA. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the students' mathematical reasoning abilities in experimental class was better than the control class which was reviewed based on the whole student and grouping students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of critical thinking skills and students mathematical dispositions, as well as the interaction between learning factors and grouping of students to the critical thinking skills and the improvement of student mathematical dispositions. This study is an experimental study with a quantitative approach that describes an increase in critical thinking skills and dispositions of students overall mathematical and grouping students. The population inthis study were students of SMP Negeri 3 Peusangan, where in the sample is a class VIII student as much as 2 classes with 47 students enrolled. The sampling technique is done by simple random sampling design with pretest-posttest control group. Based on the results of the study concluded that the improvement of students critical thinking skills mathematical significantly higher in grade PBM than conventional class as a whole with a value of t = 4.373. However, the grouping of students simply an increase in the high group and medle group only, namely the value of t = 4.064 and t = 2,554. The study also concluded that there was an interaction between learning factors and grouping of students to the mathematical ability of students to think critically. In addition, the results of a study of students mathematical dispositions that get higher problem-based learning than students who received conventional teaching overall with a value of t= 4.214. While the grouping of students is only an increase in the high group with a value of t = 2.428 and the low group with a value of t = 3.439. But in the process of interaction, there is no interaction between factors of learning and grouping of student to an increase students mathematical dispositions.

Abstract

Abstract. Communication skills and mathematical reasoning is one of the objectives of the study of mathematics. Communication is defined as the ability to write, read, listen, examine, interpret, and evaluate ideas, symbols, terms, and mathematical information. Mathematical reasoning is a habit when the brain is well developed and consistent will facilitate the mathematical communicate both written and oral. Therefore, the necessary relevant learning models to optimize, improve, and develop communication and mathematical reasoning abilities of students. One of the cooperative learning models is Teams Games Tournament (TGT). The aim of this study to determine: (1) Is the increase in communication and mathematical reasoning abilities that students acquire learning with cooperative learning model TGT better than students who received conventional learning approaches, and (2) What is the attitude of students towards learning mathematics learning gain with cooperative learning model TGT. This research was experimental research design with pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study was all students of class XI MAN Darussalam Aceh Besar, which consists of five classes. While the sample was composed of two classes of experimental classes and control classes were taken by random sampling. The instrument used to obtain research data communications test and mathematical reasoning ability, and attitude scale questionnaire. The statistical test used for the data mengalisis increase communication skills and mathematical reasoning was two lanes ANOVA test, while the attitude scale questionnaire was calculated based on a percentage. The results showed that the overall improvement of communication and mathematical reasoning abilities that students acquire learning with cooperative learning model Teams Games Tournament better than students who received study with conventional approaches. From the results of student questionnaire concluded that in general the students had the positive attitude towards learning mathematics using cooperative learning model TGT.Key Word: Learning TGT, Communication, Reasoning
