Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the relative importance of general (GCA) and specific (SCA) combining ability and heterosis effects on resistance to C. gloeosporioides in selected papaya genotypes. A half diallel mating scheme of five genotypes of papaya were evaluated in the field. The combining ability analysis revealed that both the additive and nonadditive gene effects were present.  Crosses between the resistance and susceptible genotypes showed intermediate disease reaction to papaya anthracnose disease (PAD) suggesting a polygenic system of resistance to the disease. Highly resistance heterosis of 51.51% at Tajur and 48.71% at Gunung Geulis were expressed in crosses between IPB5 x PB000174.   Key words: Papaya, anthracnose, GCA, SCA, heterosis

Abstract

Screening genotypes of Aceh cacao to obtain resistant genotypes to Black Pod Disease (Phytopthora palmivora) is a key step. This study was conducted on basis of screening natural infection in the field and artificial infection in laboratory. The research was conducted in the field (Saree Aceh and East Aceh) and in the Plant Pathology Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, Syiah Kuala University. The study started from March to November 2013. Results from the field and laboratory, based on artificial inoculation, showed that three genotypes originated from Saree Aceh i.e. SR 26, SR 40 and SR7 were resistant, indicated by the characters of long incubation period (more than five days), a small diameter of spot, slow growth of the spot, and low percentage of symptoms. The three genotypes had both a good wounded post-penetration and unwounded pre-penetration resistance. Conversely, cacao genotypes originated from East Aceh did not show a significant difference of post-penetration resistance.

Abstract

.  The effect of picloram concentrations and three explants types on cacao somatic embryogenesis was studied. The objective of this work was to evaluate a procedure for somatic embryogenesis of cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) Aceh clones. Somatic embryogenesis was induced using floral tissue explants (petal, staminode, and anther) on North Aceh cacao genotype. No growth was observed on petal types of explants on low concentrations of picloram. Depending on the explants, the percentage of explants producing one or more embryos ranged from 3% to 75%, 5% to 80%, and 10% to 90% on media containing 3 mg/l, 4 mg/l, and 5 mg/l picloram respectively. Staminode explants produced 3 to 10 times more somatic embryos than petals, while anthers produced 2 to 5 times.  Secondary embryos were induced from the floral explants of the North Aceh cacao genotype that exhibited efficient primary embryogenesis. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tanggapan dan harapan pemilih pemula di Kabupaten Ponorogo terhadap pemimpin perempuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori persepsi yang dikemukakan oleh Brunner. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian yaitu pemilih pemula di Kabupaten Ponorogo dan terdapat 13 informan dalam penelitian ini. Pemimpin perempuan yang dimaksud adalah berkaitan dengan momentum Pemilihan Kepala Daerah Jawa Timur tahun 2018 dimana masing-masing calon kandidat memiliki wakil perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Untuk menguji keabsahan data digunakan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemilih pemula menganggap bahwa perempuan bisa menjadi pemimpin karena memiliki hak dan kedudukan yang sama dengan laki-laki. Terhadap perempuan yang menjadi kepala daerah, beberapa menyatakan setuju dan beberapa beranggapan bahwa pemimpin perempuan tidak sesuai dengan ajaran Al-Qur’an. Terhadap pencalonan pada Pilkada Jatim 2018, pemilih pemula menganggap bahwa yang pantas menjadi pemimpin adalah laki-laki. Perempuan lebih baik menduduki jabatan wakil sehingga bisa saling melengkapi. Pemilih pemula juga tidak mempermasalahkan apabila tidak ada calon perempuan dalam Pilkada tersebut. Harapan pemilih pemula di Kabupaten Ponorogo terhadap pemimpin perempuan adalah pemimpin perempuan harus sempurna, mampu mewujudkan pola pikir masyarakat yang kreatif, dan pemimpin perempuan harus melek teknologi. Abstract

Abstrak.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakter morfologi beberapa genotipe. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) faktor tunggal dengan 3 ulangan, setiap satuan percobaan terdiri dari 2 tanaman sehingga terdapat 42 tanaman. genotipe yang diuji adalah 7 genotipe pepaya, yaitu: Bontang, Calina, Carmida, Carisya, Dapina Hibrida 2x1 dan Ponti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa genotipe berpengaruh nyata terhadap beberapa karakter morfologi pepaya, yaitu: panjang bunga, umur panen dan berat buah utuh.Seluruh karakter yang diamati memiliki nilai duga heritabilitas yang tinggi dan dapat digunakan untuk tujuan pemuliaan tanaman. Abstract. This study aims to determine the character of morphological genotypes of papaya. This study uses a randomized complete block design (RAK) single factor with three replications, each experimental unit consists of two plants so that there are 42 plants. Factors tested are seven genotypes of papaya, namely: Bontang, Calina, Carmida, Carisya, Dapina Hybrid 2x1 and Ponti. The results showed that genotype significantly affect several morphological characters papaya, namely: length of flower, harvesting dan whole fruit weight. Heritability high of all character and can use to selection for plant breeding project.
