Abstract

An analysis of a small industry is a wide variety and refers to developing and empowering; therefore, in a long term, it can be autonomous in a strict competition. The study aims to examine a small industry performance of chips in Kota Jambi. The study is useful for describing the characteristics of industry specifically. The findings of the study indicate that UKM (middle-small sized industry) in a variety of forms has different characteristics. However, there are a number of serious problems for sustainability. Some problems are a license, location and capital since a majority of UKM is not bankable, a lack of human resources including regeneration and succession for sustainability, dualistic leadership as owner as well as manager, serious management problem – incredible accounting, pay standard, raw-material assurance, additional product, marketing aspect and waste of production. A further research needs to design all problems referring to the findings of the UKM cases in industry center for chips. Although the generalization of the findings is not broad, it shows a classical problem of UKM to need analyzing more intensively for answering the problem. For a further research, thus, it is necessary to include all of the parties to find a solution for the continuity of UKM that can positively contribute to labor market recruitment and micro and macro economy improvement. However, the study is limited to the case so that the generalization can not be reached. The conclusion, but, can concretely describe a variety of problems.Keywords: UKM, industral center, empowering

Abstract

AbstrakKemoterapi memiliki peranan penting dalam penatalaksanaan kanker payudara. Obat ini bekerjamembunuh sel-sel kanker, namun dapat juga menghancurkan sel-sel sehat termasuk sel darahsehingga dapat menyebabkan neutropenia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kejadiandemam neutropenia pada pasien kanker payudara yang mendapat kemoterapi. Jenis penelitianini adalah obsevasional dengan desain cross sectional study. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 98 orangpenderita kanker payudara yang menjalani kemoterapi di RSUP Dr. M Djamil Padang.Pemeriksaan yang dilakukan adalah differential count dan suhu tubuh oral, kemudian dilakukananalisis statistik dengan uji non parametrik. Kejadian demam neutropenia ditemukan pada 10pasien (10,2%), dimana didapatkan hubungan yang bermakna antara regimen kemoterapidengan kejadian demam neutropenia (p=0,028), dan tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermaknaantara kejadian demam neutropenia dengan umur pasien (p=0,683) serta setting kemoterapi(p=0,631). Hubungan antara kejadian demam neutropenia dengan siklus kemoterapi tidak dapatdianalisis secara statistik. Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa regimen kemoterapi non FACmeningkatkan resiko kejadian demam neutropenia pada pasien kanker payudara yangdikemoterapi.AbstractChemotherapy has an important role in breast cancer management. Chemotherapy works bykilling cancer cells in the body. However, healthy cells including blood cells are also destroyedleading to a condition called neutropenia. This study aimed to determine the incidence ofneutropenia febrile in patients with breast cancer who received chemotherapy in thechemotherapy unit of Dr. M. Djamil Padang Hospital. This study was a cross-sectional study of98 samples. Leucosite differential count and oral body temperature were examined and wereanalyzed with non parametric test. Neutropenia febriles were found on 10 out of 98 patients(10.2%). There was a significant association found between chemotherapy regimen and theincidence of neutropenia febrile (p=0.028), however, there were no significant associationbetween the incidence of neutropenia febrile with patient’s age (p=0.683) and the setting ofchemotherapy (p=0.631). While the correlation between the incidence of neutropenia febrile andchemotherapy cycle can not be statistically analyzed. It is concluded that chemotherapy causesincidence of neutropenia febrile at 10.2% patient. Non FAC chemotherapy regimens increasesthe risk of neutropenia febrile in patients with breast cancer patient receiving chemotherapy.

Abstract

AbstrakKanker payudara stadium lanjut pada usia muda dikaitkan dengan gambaran klinis, patologis dan prognosis yang lebih buruk dibanding usia tua. Ovariektomi merupakan terapi paliatif yang efektif pada pasien ini, dengan menurunkan kadar estradiol yang akan mempengaruhi gen yang terlibat dalam proses proliferasi, diferensiasi, metastasis, angiogenesis, invasi, dan apoptosis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ovariektomi terhadap kadar VEGF, TGF β, IGF dan CA15-3 pada pasien kanker payudara stadium lanjut usia muda. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pre dan post test pada 12 pasien kanker payudara stadium lanjut usia muda sebagai subyek penelitian. Pemeriksaan kadar VEGF, TGF β, IGF dan CA 15-3 dilakukan sebelum dan tiga bulan sesudah pasien dilakukan tindakan ovariektomi dengan menggunakan teknik ELISA, kemudian dilakukan analisis statistik dengan uji non parametrik. Penelitian menemukan peningkatan kadar VEGF, TGF β, IGF dan CA 15-3 dan menurun sesudah dilakukan ovariektomi. Analisis statistik menunjukkan pengaruh ovariektomi yang bermakna terhadap penurunan kadar VEGF (p=0,023), TGF β (p=0,02), dan CA 15-3 (p=0,002), tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap kadar IGF(p=875). Ovariektomi dapat menurunkan kadar VEGF, TGF β dan CA 15-3 serum, sehingga dapat dipertimbangkan sebagai terapi pilihan pada kanker payudara stadium lanjut usia muda.AbstractAdvanced breast cancer in young age is associated with worse clinical features, pathology and prognosis than old age. Oophorectomy may be an effective palliative therapy in these patients, by decreasing estradiol concentration which will affect genes involved in proliferation, differentiation, metastasis, angiogenesis, invasion, and apoptosis. This research aimed at examining the effect of oophorectomy on the levels of VEGF, TGF-β, IGF and CA15-3 in patients with advanced breast cancer in young age. This study used a pre and post test design in twelve patients with advanced breast cancer in young age. The level of VEGF, TGF-β, IGF and CA 15-3 was measured before and three months after oophorectomy using the ELISA technique. Data was analyzed with non-parametric test. Of the twelve patients studied, there were increased levels of VEGF, TGF-β, IGF, and CA 15-3 before oophorectomy and there was a decrease after oophorectomy performed. Statistical analysis showed that oophorectomy significantly decreased levels of VEGF (p = 0,023), TGF-β (p = 0,02), and CA 15-3 (p = 0,002), but no significant effect on the decrease in IGF levels (p = 0,875 ). Oophorectomy reduces levels of VEGF, TGF β and CA 15-3 serum significantly in the first three months of observation. Thus, it could be considered for the management of advanced breast cancer in young age.

Abstract

                       ABSTRACTCatfish (Pangasius hypophthalmus) is a fishery commodity that has an high economic value. Fish bone is one of the waste products from fishing industry that has not been used properly. Catfish bone waste contains calcium and phosphorus that humans need. The difference in processing methods will affect the quality of the fish bone meal produced. This study aimed to determine the effect of different processing methods on the calcium and phosphorus content of catfish bone flour produced and to determine the appropriate method to produce the highest calcium and phosphorus content in catfish bone flour. The method used in this study was an experimental with a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) that consisted of 3 treatments, namely T1 (raw bones) T2 (steaming) T3 (boiling) and repeated 3 times. The parameters measured in this study were the levels of calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) from the catfish bone meal produced. The results showed that the different processing methods were affecting significantly to the calcium and phosphorus content in the catfish bone flour. The treatment of  T1 (raw bone), T2 (steamed bone), T3 (boiled bone) had calcium levels at 0.3068%, 0.2704%, 0.2094% and phosphorus levels at 0.0172%, 0.0141%, 0.0136%, respectively. The best treatment is steaming method with calcium value 0.2704% and phosphorus value 0.141%.Keywords: Boiling, Fishbone, Flour, Steaming.

Abstract

Desa mandiri menunjukkan bahwa desa mempunyai kekuatan secara sosial, ekonomi dan budaya melalui pembangunan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat secara berkelanjutan. Salah satu desa unggul dan memiliki target untuk menjadi desa mandiri adalah desa Toapaya Selatan, dengan berbagai upaya yang dinamis dilakukan untuk mewujudkannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui dinamika/praktik dynamic governance dalam upaya Desa Toapaya Selatan mewujudkan desa mandiri, serta hambatan-hambatan yang dialami dalam mewujudkannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Sumber data diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil peneltian ini menunjukkan bahwa Desa Toapaya Selatan memiliki potensi dan melakukan kemampuan yang dinamis.  Masih ada hambatan di beberapa indikator seperti kesehatan, pendidikan dan ekonomi. Kini berupaya mengoptimalkannya melalui penyediaan fasilitas, menjalankan desa wisata yang tertunda, pengembangan pasar desa dan PADes. Able people, adanya berbagai prestasi hingga dikancah nasional dibawah kepemimpinan Kepala Desa, bersama unsur-unsur desa lainnya, agile process, adanya proses kerja yang baik untuk desa wisata maupun di Bumdes sehingga sudah dapat berkontribusi terhadap PAD, thinking ahead,  Desa Toapaya Selatan melakukan hal-hal yang dianalisis dan direncanakan kedepan memberi dampak terhadap kemandirian desa. Thinking again, untuk mencapai keberhasilan suatu kegiatan, dilakukannya pemetaan terhadap produk dan sumberdaya serta modal yang tersedia. Thinking across, dengan  belajar dari desa mandiri lainnya seperti Bali dan Jogja, Ponggok, desa aktif berinovasi, melirik hal-hal baru yang dapat dikembangkan dan memaksimalkan potensi desa untuk menjadi mandiri.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBerunok is a type of marine biota that lives on muddy coasts and seagrasses but has not high economic value. This study aimed to determine the effect of different concentrations of acetic acid on the yield and chemical composition of collagen from sea cucumbers. The research method used was a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatment levels by repeating 3 times, namely 0.50 M acetic acid concentration, 0.75 M acetic acid concentration and 1 M acetic acid concentration. Parameters for analysis were analysis yield, and chemistry (water and protein). The results showed that the yield values extracted with acetic acid concentrations of 0.50 M, 0.75 M and 1 M were 2.74%, 3.56% and 5.07%, respectively. The chemical composition consisted of water content and protein extracted with acetic acid concentrations of 0.50 M, 0.75 M, 1 M respectively 17.15%, 14.21%, 11.54% and protein successively 75.69 %, 78.26%, and 79.21%. Keywords: Collagen, yield, Proximate Sea Cucumber

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aimed to determine the yield of Caulerpa lentillifera extracted with polar (methanol p.a.), semi-polar (ethyl acetate p.a.) and non-polar (n-hexane p.a.) solutions. The research method was explorative, the data is analyzed descriptively. The analysis parameter was yield. The results showed that Caulerpa lentillifera extracted with different solvent solutions had successively methanol, ethyl acetate, and n-hexane yields of 0.70%, 0.58%, 0.53%. The highest yield value was produced by methanol extract (polar) of 0.70%. Keywords: Caulerpa lentillifera dried, extract, identification, yield.

Abstract

ABSTRACTExtraction is one way to produce fish oil. The temperature used in the extraction process affects the characteristics of the oil. One of the extraction methods to get fish oil is dry rendering. Extraction temperature can affect the yield. This study aims to determine the appropriate temperature using dry rendering extraction of the resulting yield value. The research method used is an experimental method using a non-factorial completely randomized design. The treatment used consisted of 3 levels, namely 70 oC (K1), 80 oC (K2), and 90 oC (K3) with a duration of 1 hour. The analyzed parameter is yield. The results obtained that the extraction of mackerel fish oil using the dry rendering method and treatment at temperatures of 70°C, 80°C, and 90°C had yield values of 3.09%, 4.62%, and 5.22, respectively. %,. The highest yield of tuna fish oil was produced at a temperature of 90oC. The difference in the extraction temperature of tuna oil has an effect on the yield of the oil obtained. Keywords: Dry Rendering Extraction, Temperature, Yield.

Abstract

ABSTRACTTilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) was one of the large freshwater fish commodities in Indonesia. The fish has the potential as a raw material for fish protein hydrolysates. Fish protein hydrolysates use specific and extensive ongoing enzymes capable of influencing the formation of peptides and amino acids. This study aimed to determine the effect of the addition of different concentrations of papain enzyme totilapia protein hydrolysates. This study used experimental methods with non factorial complete randomized design three replicates with different concentrations of papain enzyme treatment (5%;10%; and 15%). The parameters tested consisted of proximate analysis, degree of hydrolysis, large molecular weight protein and yield. The results showed that fresh tilapia had water content of 78.08% (wb); ash content of 18.06% (db); fat content of 4.37% (db); protein content of 74.22% (db) and carbohydrate content by difference of 3.33% (db). Tilapia protein hydrolysate with 15% concentration of papain enzyme was the best treatment with yield value of 10.03%; degree of hydrolysis of 3.35% and large molecular weight protein of 10.01%. Keywords: fish protein hydrolysate, papain enzyme, proximate, tilapia, yield

Abstract

ABSTRACT Squid ink contains secondary metabolites that function to avoid enemy attacks. Several secondary metabolites can determine the presence of antioxidant activity. Solvents with different polarities can produce different yield values and bioactive compounds. This study aimed to determine the yield value and identify bioactive compounds in L. duvauceli ink extract. The method in this study was explorative and the data were analyzed descriptively. L. duvauceli ink was extracted by the maceration method. The treatments used were solvents with different polarity levels, such as n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and ethanol. The parameters carried out in this study were yield and qualitative secondary bioactive compound testing. The yield of squid ink extracts were 1.69% (n-hexane extract), 2.26% (ethyl acetate extract), and 2.77% (ethanol extract). The bioactive compounds identified in the n-hexane solvent were alkaloids and saponins, alkaloids and steroids in the ethyl acetate extract, and alkaloids and phenolic compounds in the ethanol extract. These compounds are thought to act as antioxidants in L. duvauceli ink.Keywords: bioactive compound, maceration, polarity of solvents, and squid ink
