Abstract

The purpose of this research is to formulate the development strategy of the small industry of tamarillo processed typical food in Kejajar District that faces the marketing obstacles, the simple technology, and the lack of capital. This research also aims at analyzing the position and the development strategy of tamarillo processed product as the typical food from Dieng Plateau. The SWOT analysis is used at the first stage and the Ansoff Matrix analysis is used at the second stage. The result of SWOT analysis indicates that the position of small industry is in quadrant II, which supports the growth strategy through horizontal integration. The strategy can be implemented by cooperating with the similar small industries and the Department of Tourism and Culture of Wonosobo Regency for marketing. The Ansoff Matrix analysis indicates that the position of tamarillo processed product is seen as the new typical food in Kejajar District, so, the main strategy for the small industry is market development strategy to increase the market share and to create the brand image to the tourists.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to make planning in the development of agricultural sector especiallyfood crops for the economic area improvement. The tools of analysis applied are shift share, LocationQuotient (LQ) and central index analysis. The development of the superb food crops is conducted withthe development of processing and central industry. By observing the superb crops commodity, centralindex value, and PRDB per capita, it can be determined the development direction of each food cropscommodities, that is by specifying central production area and processing industry. Paddy centralproduction is recommended in Temon, Panjatan, Galur, Lendah, Kokap, Girimulyo, Nanggulan andSamigaluh sub-districts, and rice mill is developed in Wates and Pengasih sub-districts. For Maizecommodity, the development of processing industry is conducted in Sentolo and Pengasih sub-districtsand its central production is in Temon, Lendah, Kokap, Kalibawang and Samigaluh sub-districts. Forcassava crops commodity, the central production is in Temon, Kokap, Girimulyo, Kalibawang andSamigaluh sub-districts, and its processing industry is founded in Sentolo and Pengasih sub-districts.Central production of sweet potatoes is in Panjatan, Pengasih, and Girimulyo subdistricts, and itsprocessing industry is in Wates sub-district. For peanuts commodity, the processing industry is foundedin Wates and Pengasih sub-districts, and its central production is in Temon, Lendah, Kokap, Girimulyoand Samigaluh sub-districts. Central production of soybeans crops commodity is located in Temon,Galur, Lendah, Nanggulan and Kalibawang sub-districts and its processing industry is in Sentolo andPengasih sub-districts. Temon, Sentolo, and Pengasih sub-districts are the central production for thegreen beans crops with processing industry in Wates sub-district.Keywords: development, food crops, superb commodity

Abstract

This articles aims to understand the practice of empowerment through assistance to salak farmers. The study includes 60 salak fruit farmers which are taken as the samples. Descriptive analysis is used to analyze the obtained data from the study. The research result shows that most respondents have the relative low level of empowerment. The empowerment level from business aspect explain that most of the respondent (73%) are never and could not got the financial assistant to develop their business. Likewise, it could be happen in the technological access, most of the respondent (56,7%) explain that in the production process the technology that used is base on traditional and hereditary. So, it is depend on labour relieves when the production and harvest process. Furthermore, the research shows that a low level of a capability to access the market information. It could be seen that most of the farmers (38,3%) directly selling their product to the consumers and 33,3% sell their product to the broker. The empowerment from non economic aspect could be seen from the low ability of lobbying aspect, like the asking for a relieves from their colleagues at the local government officer (10%), financial institution like cooperation, bank and etc (25%), society figures (32,1%), employees (32,1%), non government institution/ academision (10%) and a families (93,3%). To empower the farmers in order to make them sustainable, it is necessary to built a partnership by empowerment strategy. The empowerment strategy that involves industry as the farmers’ partner is carried out to improve the empowerment of the farmers of salak fruits.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi praktek pemberdayaan melalui pendampingan petani buah salak. Sebanyak 60 orang petani salak diambil sebagai sampel. Analisis deskriptif telah digunakan untuk menganalisis data dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar masyarakat di daerah penelitian mengaku pada saat panen melimpah harga jual buah salak sangat rendah. Tingkat keberdayaan dari Aspek Usaha menunjukkan bahwa dalam mengakses kredit sebagian besar responden (73%) menyatakan tidak pernah atau tidak mampu mendapatkan kredit untuk pengembangan usahanya. Demikian juga dalam megakses teknologi sebagian besar responden (56,7%) menyatakan bahwa dalam melakukan proses produksi berdasarkan turun-temurun dimana teknologi dalam melakukan produksi bersifat tradisonal dan menggunakan insting, sehingga masih tergantung adanya bantuan dari orang lain pada saat terjadi masalah baik dalam proses produksi maupun pada saat panen. Selajutnya kemampuan dalam mengakses informasi pasar menunjukkan rendah yang dapat dilihat dari pemasaran hasil panen sebagian besar (38,3%) dijual langsung ke konsumen dan kepada tengkulak (33,3%). Tingkat keberdayaan dari aspek non-ekonmi yang dilihat dari kemampuan lobbying menunjukkan masih relative rendah, seperti keberhasilan dalam meminta bantuan kenalannya di Pemda sebsar 10%, lembaga keuangan seperti koperasi, bank, dan lain sebagainya sebesar 25%, tokoh masyarakat sebesar 32,1%, pengusaha sebesar 32,1%, akademisi/LSM sebesar 10% dan saudara 93,3%.  Untuk meningkatkan keberdayaan petani agar mampu menjalankan usahataninya secara berkelanjutan serta meningkatkan nilai tambah, diperlukan adanya kemitraan yang dapat dilakukan melalui Strategi Pemberdayaan.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is planning for development the agricultural sector, especially food plants in order to improve the local economy. The steps taken is to examine the performance of the agricultural sector in the district, identify potential food plants to be developed in each sub district, construct a hierarchy of centers of social services and economic development, planning the development of agriculture food plants in the district, then describe it in a planning map. The research was conducted in the district Wonosobo. Analysis of the research carried out by using Shift Share analysis, Location Quotient (LQ), and analysis skalogram. The results showed that the highest productivity in agriculture in the district is Wonosobo vegetable plants. Types of plants that can be developed are food plants that have competitive and comparative advantage.

Abstract

Mapping industry and need assessement are the first steps for developing the industrial sector. This study aims to describe the performance of the industry, prepare the map of industrial development potency and identify the need assessement on industries in Sub Gunungpati. The data was obtained from the survey by spreading questionnaires and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The descriptive statistical analysis is used in this study. The result shows that there are 12 types of industries in the Village Gunungpati. However, most of these industries do not have a good management of the business eventhough they have been running their industries for a long time. It can be seen from several aspects, such as accounting and finance, production and marketing. Every type of industry has different condition and distribution. There is only one type of industry which form a large cluster; it is the industries that produce red bricks in Ngrembel. Finally, the result of need assessment shows that trainings on administrative records, financial report, innovation on production machines, packaging, marketing, obtaining raw materials, waste management are needed to increase the business capacity. Pemetaan industri dan need assessement merupakan langkah awal dalam pengembangan sektor industri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan performance industri, menyusun peta potensi pengembangan industri dan mengidentifikasi need assessement pada industri-industri di Kelurahan Gunungpati. Data diperoleh dari metode survey dengan kuisioner dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Analisis yang dilakukan adalah analisis deskriptif statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada 12 jenis industri di Kelurahan Gunungpati. Meski sudah berdiri lama, mayoritas industri- industri tersebut belum memiliki manajemen pengelolaan usaha yang baik. Ini dapat dilihat dari beberapa aspek, antara lain aspek pembukuan dan keuangan, produksi dan pemasaran. Setiap jenis industri memiliki kondisi dan sebaran yang berbeda-beda. Hanya ada satu jenis industri yang membentuk cluster besar yaitu industri pembuatan bata merah di daerah Ngrembel. Hasil need assessment menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan pencatatan administrasi, pelatihan penulisan laporan keuangan, inovasi alat produksi, pelatihan teknik pengemasan, pelatihan teknik pemasaran, kemudahan memperoleh bahan baku, dan pengelolaan limbah produksi dibutuhkan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas usaha.

Abstract

Agriculture-based business development efforts is crucial carried out in support of public welfare. One of the agricultural products which have the potential to be developed towards an industrial scale are fruits and vegetables. During this time, farmers only sell fruit and vegetables in the form of raw products, and product diversification are less in touch. So far, farmers also simply be a price taker, where they do not have the strength in pricing. This causes farmers sometimes manipulated by middlemen, especially when the harvest is abundant. Therefore, it takes effort and innovation to cultivate fruit and vegetables to be more durable, has a high economic value and improve the welfare of farmers. The purpose of this service is: (1) provide training on making chips eggplants and carrots; (2) facilitate the use of freezingfrying machines; (3) help the vegetable farmers in assessing the feasibility of making chips eggplants and carrots (4) facilitate and assist farmers in accessing capital loans to financial institutions (5) business assistance. The methods used in service activities are 1) a method of action which the servants of training the production of chips eggplant and vegetables, 2) methods of assistance where efforts procurement of machines, access to capital and feasibility studies done here and, 3) the method of supervision, which in the method The servant evaluate and solve problems encountered while running a business. After the service is implemented, is expected to solve the existing problems so as to support the promotion of the local economy and local vegetable growers.

Abstract

The performance of the tourism sector in Kedungsepur region increases significantly viewed from the indicators of the number of tourism objects, labors, tourists, income, and the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of the tourism sector, but the contribution of the tourism sector to the GRDP and the average of the tourists’ length of stay decreases. This shows that the performance of the tourism sector in Kedungsepur region decreases and the Public Private Partnership has not been optimallee implemented. Therefore, the researchers use the analysis of SWOT and AHP to find the strategy alternatives to increase the performance indicators of the tourism sector. The research result of the SWOT analysis shows that the development of tourism sector in Kedungsepur region is at the quadrant III, which supports the Turn Arround strategy by applyinga strategy formulated in the matrix of SWOT. And the research result based on the AHP analysis shows the priority based on the criteria of aspects and alternatives. The aspect of institutional and the Alternative strengthen the institutional internal relationship to be a priority in the development of tourism sector in Kedungsepur region.

Abstract

Fenomena migrasi sangat mewarnai di beberapa negara berkembang, termasuk di berbagai daerah di Indonesia. Di Indonesia terutama banyak tenaga kerja yang berasal dari daerah pedesaan mengalir ke daerah perkotaan, Salah satunya dari Kabupaten Kendal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap keputusan migrasi sirkuler yang antara lain meliputi jenis kelamin, usia, status perkawinan, tingkat pendidikan dan pendapatan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah tenaga kerja kabupaten Kendal yang bekerja di Kota Semarang dan menjadi migrasi sirkuler yang jumlahnya 1.135 jiwa Tidak semua tenaga kerja dalam populasi menjadi objek dalam penelitian ini karena jumlahnya sulit untuk diketahui. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode Snowball sampling dalam hal ini sampel adalah tenaga kerja di sektor formal yang bekerja di Kota Semarang dan menjadi migrasi sirkuler yang berjumlah 92 responden. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Jenis kelamin berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap migrasi sirkuler, usia berpengaruh positif dan tidak signifikan terhadap migrasi sirkuler, status perkawinan berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap migrasi sirkuler, tingkat pendidikan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap migrasi sirkuler, pendapatan berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap migrasi sirkuler. The phenomenon of migration is very coloring in some developing countries, including in the various regions in Indonesia . In Indonesia especially many workers coming from rural regions flowed into the urban area, One of Kendal District. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the decision of circular migration which includes gender, age , marital status , education and income levels . In this study the object studied is the workforce in the formal sector who work in the city of Semarang and becomes circular migration. The population in this study was a labor of Kendal district who work in the city of Semarang and becomes circular migration which numbers 1,135 souls Not all workers in the population become the object of this study because the amount is hard to know. Sampling was done by snowball sampling method in this case the sample is labor in the formal sector who work in the city of Semarang and becomes circular migration which amounted to 92 respondents. Based on the results of the study indicate that the Gender positive and significant to circular migration, age positive and not significant to circular migration, marital status negative and not significant to circular migration, education level positive and significant impact on circular migration, revenue negative effect and significant impact on circular migration.
