This is part of research result from a Ph.D thesis which is submitted to Flinders University South Australia. This is a study about the Acehnese dayah salafi and its recent change and development, both in general and in the light of messages from the government about the need for standardisation and regulation of the studies of these Islamic educational institutions. Through a qualitative case study of a purposively selected dayah salafi in Aceh province, Indonesia, this research tried to find how standardising or regulating might affect dayah salafi and their teaching activity. The result is perhaps a kind of snapshot of the current moving situation. To get a variety of views for this research, data were collected, using semi-structured interviews, from various dayah salafi people, from a government departmental officer and from a senior Islamic educational researcher. The research also used other sources of data such as general observation and documents related to this study.

Islam memberi kesempatan yang sama bagi perempuan dan laki-laki untuk menunjukkan kiprahnya. Perempuan dan laki-laki telah diberikan potensi yang sama untuk menyerap pengetahuan yang diperoleh melalui proses pendidikan. Istilah pendidikan ada yang disebut ta‟lim, ta‟dib dan tarbiyah. Bagi perempuan Islam yang memperoleh pendidikan telah turut memberi sumbangan nyata yang tercatat dalam sejarah. Tokoh-tokoh perempuan itu tersebar sejak masa Rasulullah saw sampai sesudah masa Rasulullah saw wafat, dalam lingkup geografis yang luas mulai dari jazirah Arab, kawasan Persia, Eropa, sampai menjangkau kawasan Aceh dan Nusantara.

Al-Kitabah which is known as one of the maharah (proficiency) in learning Arabic, has become one of the names of courses in the study program. This paper wants to explore the background of the emergence of this course in the PAI program and how the learning process has been going on. To answer the problem the authors conducted a study involving respondents who know directly the process of emergence of this course and student respondents who have followed the learning of this course. The results show that the background of the emergence of al-Kitabah courses is due to efforts to revise the curriculum of the PAI program beginning in 2013. There are various methods applied in al-Kitabah's learning that are adapted to the material which entirely contains the practice of writing Arabic writings. Specifically this course does not require the ability to fabricate in Arabic.

This article is part of research which is funded by DIPA UIN Ar-Raniry 2016. This article tries to extract the long research report that studied the implementation of pre-marital training regulation circulated by a sub division in ministry of religious affairs in Indonesia. Through a qualitative approach Pidie district is purposively selected, this research tried to find the implementation process of pre-marital training and obstacle encountered during implementation of pre-marital training in Pidie district. Kini umat Islam harus mampu menyiapkan suatu sistem baru di bidang pendidikan Islam yang bermutu world class school and world class university (sekolah bermutu kelas dunia dan universitas berkualitas dunia) yang berperspektif Islam. Serta harus mampu membangun strategi baru bagi pembangunan dunia pendidikan Islam secara lebih bermutu tinggi.Pola pendidikan sekolah kebanggaan (proud school), dan sekolah ber-asrama (boarding school) model dayah (pesantren) di Aceh, mesti juga menyiapkan diri menjadi dayah (pesantren) bermutu world class.Bukan justru sebaliknya menjadi terpuruk atau bangkrut, akibat penetrasian gelombang hedonistik, materialistik, dan individualistik arus globalisasi.

The implementation of Sharia Law (Sharia) in Aceh has been going on for some time. Since the implementation of Sharia Law, many violations of Sharia Law have been found in Aceh. The implementation of Sharia Law must also be accompanied by education related to Sharia Law. So far, at the level of formal education, subject that can be categorized as having a connection with the implementation of Sharia Law in Aceh is PAI (Islamic Religious Education) subject. Therefore, this study aims to examine the application of sharia law study in schools and madrasah through PAI learning. An in-depth analysis is applied to various documents related to the 2013 curriculum, especially PAI subject in schools and madrasah at the upper secondary level. The results show that there has been an application of sharia law study through PAI learning in schools and madrasah. Furthermore, based on document evaluations, it is also found that the time allocation for PAI learning in schools is less than the time allocated for PAI learning in madrasah. The time allocation for PAI learning in madrasah is more due to the fact that each PAI component is a separate subject and has its own time allocation.

Poetry is an accumulation of beauty and imagination in the form of compositions that represent the subtlety of feelings and have messages that penetrate the recesses of the soul. Although the poetry comes from a time when there was not yet has a light of divine truth, there has been poetry with spiritual values touching the spiritual experiences. Therefore, this study aims to examine poetry that has spiritual value in pre-Islamic Arabic literature. Content-analysis is applied to find the spiritual values in a selected poetry. The result shows that spiritual values emerged such as kindness and compassion for others; generosity; deep thoughts about death; peacefulness; keeping promise; sincerity.

This study aims to determine students' perceptions regarding the contribution of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects in cultivating an understanding of Islamic law in Aceh. A qualitative approach using the case study method is used. Data obtained through interviews with five participants. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that there is contribution of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects in the form of students having knowledge of Islamic law applied in Aceh and students having knowledge of the categories of violations of Islamic law. Categories of violations of Islamic law that students know are drinking alcoholic beverages; maisir (gambling); khalwat (obscene) and wearing clothes that are not in accordance with the Shari'a law. The categories of punishment known to students for violations committed were caning for adultery.
