Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh model pembelajaran Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) berbasis etnosains sehingga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada konsep pencemaran lingkungan. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas dengan menggunakan teknik pusposive sampling. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rerata N-gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,71 lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,27. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan Whitung = 0,06 < Wtabel = 95,36 maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Simpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa model pembelajaran SSCS berbasis etnosains dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada konsep pencemaran lingkungan. Selain itu peserta didik juga memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap penggunaan model pembelajaran SSCS berbasis etnosains. This study aimed to examine the influence of Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model based on ethnosciences in order to improve students’ critical thinking skill on the environmental pollution concept. The samples of study consisted of two classes using purposive sampling technique. The method used was quasi experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The results showed that the average value of N-gain of the experimental class was 0.71. It was higher than the control class (0.27). The result of Wilcoxon test showed that Wcalc = 0.06 < Wtable = 95.36, then H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. The conclusion of this study was that the SSCS learning model based on ethnosciences could improve the students critical thinking skill on the environmental pollution concept. In addition, students responded positively to the use of SSCS model based on ethnosciences.

Abstract

Fundamentally, teacher’s motivation in the framework of improving the quality of students’ education is considerably required and shall constitute a value-based effort for the teacher, as he/she is actively involved in pedagogical process of learning. In addition, teacher has an ultimate role in the process of building students ‘education.&nbsp; In view of that, the students’ ideal characters building can be accordingly attained if it is performed by a highly qualified teacher. For that reason, teacher supposedly recognizes systematically the matters which can satisfy the fulfillment of student’s education quality and the characteristic of education itself in the society. Academically, the writer specifically analyzes the problem as follows: 1) How important is the teacher’s motivation in improving students’ education quality? 2) Why is teacher’s motivation very crucial in the society?; and 3) what are the steps of teacher’s motivation fulfillment in improving students’ education quality ?.&nbsp; To sum up teacher’s motivation in improving student’s education quality is very important and to such an extent it is very crucial as teacher is the actor of agent of change in the society. For that reasons, teacher should use his/her best endeavor to realize such purpose through a value-based motivation developments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the role of the GUPPI Al-Barkah Private Madrasah Aliyah committee in improving the quality of education in the Madrasah. The results of the study can be summarized as follows: 1) The role of the madrasah committee in giving consideration to improve the quality of education in the Private Aliyah Madrasah GUPPI Al Barkah is realized in the form of giving input to the education management process and learning process; giving consideration to the provision and use of facilities and infrastructure needed and the use and utilization of madrasah budgets; 2) The support provided by the madrasah committee to improve the quality of education in the Private Aliyah Madrasah GUPPI Al Barkah by monitoring the condition of human resources and infrastructure. 3) the madrasa committee in carrying out its role as a controller in improving the quality of education in the Private Aliyah Madrasah GUPPI Al Barkah is carried out in the form of supervision of all educational activities in madrasas; 4) the role of the committee as a mediator is realized as a liaison and container of aspirations from the community.

Abstract

In certain situations, a moving or stationary object can be a barrier for a vehicle. People and vehicles crossing could potentially get hit by a vehicle. Objects around roads as sidewalks, road separator, power poles, and railroad gates are also a potential source of danger when the driver is inattentive in driving the vehicle. A device that can help the driver to brake automatically is known as Automatic Braking System (ABS). ABS is a part of the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which is a device designed to assist the driver in driving the process. This device was developed to reduce human error that is a major cause of traffic accidents. This paper presents the design of ABS based on fuzzy logic which is simulated in hardware by using a remote control car. The inputs of fuzzy logic are the speed and distance of the object in front of the vehicle, while the output of fuzzy logic is the intensity of braking. The test results on the three variations of speed: slow-speed, medium-speed, and high-speed shows that the design of ABS can work according to design.

Abstract

Neutrality is an important capital for the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) as the government organizer. However, it is not easy to realize the principle called neutrality. There are several factors that make it difficult for ASNs to be neutral. First, the massive amount of ASN. ASN has a good understanding of the government's governance policies, as well as the authority possessed by the country's civil apparatus. Various regulations related to elections both in the handling of violations and the state civil apparatus are indeed well structured, but they should be able to reduce the potential behavior of the community, election participants and election organizers, but the potential for violations in the general election yesterday was large enough so that the authors are interested in researching deeper, based on Indonesia being a state of law both the government and its people must obey and abide by existing laws, but unfortunate law made easily by the public is one of the regulations related to general elections, this paper focuses on the role of the state civil apparatus in organizing general elections and handling election violations in the Indramayu district

Abstract

Salah satu pembelajaran yang menekankan penguasaan keterampilan berupa kemampuan memecahkan masalah adalah Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA). Kemampuan ini termasuk ke dalam aspek critical thinking. Karakteristik siswa SMP yang sudah mulai mampu berpikir kritis secara mandiri perlu dilakukan pengembangan kemampuan tersebut ke depannya. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui profil kemampuan memecahkan masalah siswa SMP kelas VIII. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif dengan menggunakan subjek penelitian siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri Kabupaten Sukabumi yang dipilih berdasarkan purposive sampling. Instrumen  penelitian berupa soal kemampuan memecahkan masalah sebanyak 10 soal uraian dengan 5 indikator (mengidentifikasi masalah, mengumpulkan data, menetapkan hipotesis, menguji hipotesis, dan menarik kesimpulan) pada materi sistem ekskresi. Instrumen pendukung adalah lembar wawancara. Analisis data penelitian dilakukan dengan menghitung capaian rata-rata skor kemampuan memecahkan masalah siswa perindikator dalam bentuk persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase kemampuan memecahkan masalah siswa adalah 40,3% (dikategorikan kurang). Berdasarkan wawancara diketahui bahwa kurangnya kemampuan memecahkan masalah siswa dikarenakan metode pembelajaran yang digunakan belum melatihkan kemampuan memecahkan masalah. Metode pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah ceramah, tanya jawab dan diskusi. Kemampuan memecahkan masalah dapat ditingkatkan dengan cara guru memilih metode pembelajaran yang mampu melatih dan mengembangkan kemampuan ini, yaitu dengan metode praktikum. One of the lessons that emphasizes mastery of skill in the form of problem solving skills is Natural Sciences (IPA). These skills are included in the critical thinking aspect. The characteristics of junior high school (SMP) students who have begun to be able to think critically independently need to develop these skills in the future. Therefore, the study aimed to determine the profile of the problem solving skills of junior high school student in class VIII. The study method was descriptive using the subjects of class VIII students of SMP Negeri Sukabumi who were selected based on purposive sampling. The study instrument was 10 questions in description with 5 indicators (identifying problems, collecting data, establishing hypotheses, testing hypotheses and drawing conclusions) on the excretory system material. The supporting instrument was an interview sheet. Data analysis was carried out by calculating the average achievement score of the indicator student's problem-solving skills in the form of a percentage. The results showed the percentage of students' problem solving skills was 40.3% (categorized as less). Based on the interview, it was known that the students' lack of problem solving skills was due to the learning methods used had not yet practiced problem solving skills. The learning methods used are lectures, question and answer, and discussion. The problem solving skills can be improved by the teacher chooses learning methods that are able to train and develop these skills, one of those is the practicum method.

Abstract

The research aims to improve students learning outcomes through the use of learning cycle models in the science learning of motion tool content. This research was conducted in class V of SDN Bojongloa District Kasomalang Subang. This research is based on Brunner learning theory and the paradigm of constructivism The research method used is a classroom action research method with three cycles. The subject of this research totaled are 33 students. Data collection techniques or procedures used are interviews, observations, field records, and test learning outcomes. The results showed that by implementing learning cycle models can improve student learning outcomes on the content of motion tools. This is showed by the result of cycle I is 60.6% of students complete. Cycle II is 84.8% of students complete. Then cycle III is 93.9% of students complete to the minimun criterion 70.

Abstract

This study explains the direct and indirect effects of kyai leadership quality on the quality of pesantren education seen from teacher and kyai perspective as measured through leadership, pesantren culture and teacher work motivation. This research is a quantitative research using survey method and Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis technique. The research subjects were 32 pesantren in Banten Province and with 192 respondents consisting of 32 kyai and 160 teachers. The study found that the leadership quality of kyai had only a direct effect on pesantren culture and teacher work motivation, but did not have a direct effect on the quality of pesantren education. The quality of kyai leadership has an indirect effect on the quality of pesantren education through pesantren culture and teacher work motivation. This research is in line with the leadership theory of paternalistic-free rein leadership and charismatic-traditional-rational, which leads to the quality of kyai leadership has no direct effect on the quality of pesantren education in Banten Province.
