Abstract

Packaging has been done long ago with a simple function that is just as protective products. Packaging is made to facilitate transactions between merchants and buyers to consider the protective factors of products of long distance travel. However, over the times, packaging has undergone a shift in priorities. Packaging is no longer merely as a protector, especially with the amount of competition between product spread on the market. Packaging should be altered so that the product is easy to remember by the community and achieve the expected sales figures. That requires some graphic factors carefully planned and through in-depth research in order to produce an attractive packaging design, global and wanted by the community. In this paper, the research object is the packaging for souvenirs from Japan, which in recent years, become a topic of conversation in the community, not only in Japan even in the world. The writing is compiled using literature study approach and study data from an electronic network used as the primary source of information from this research. With good packaging design, imaging dignity of a product will go up and get the attention of potential buyers.

Abstract

Understanding and application of color theory in the color wheel to create a harmonious color has been researched and developed from ancient times. Until now, the color theory that often used by practitioners of design like, graphic designer, interior designer, fashion designer and etc, based on the color theory by Prang. Simplifying color theory made by Prang makes his theory as a reference in creating harmonious color combinations. Now, the discussion of harmonious color combinations is in fashion matching appearance. Looks is the first impression in socializing with other people, with an understanding of color and aesthetic intuition of good matching, will create an attractive and not-boring appearance. In addition to improving mood, good cloth matching can also help a person to appear more attractive. Of course, such expertise cannot be obtained in a short time, it takes some extra knowledge in addition to understanding harmonious color combinations theory in general. We must consider other factors such as how to recognize skin color that will sustain the intensity of the color selection for our appearance. Hopefully, with this writing, the reader can see and learn a fashion matching appearance better.

Abstract

Various ways had been taken to promote the Indonesian culture in conventional media such as magazines, books, and even articles. The receiver generation who had lived in the abundance of technological world of digital media was the next target of inheritance and one way to do it was with the mobile application technology. So, it would be nice if the society started to take a big step to be more focused in the dissemination of culture and pass it following the development of the time, of course, without losing national identity. One of many interesting Indonesian Culture was Topeng Bali (Balinese Mask). Through observation and field research, knowledge about the art of Balinese mask was gathered, and later present it in form of mobile application. This research used the qualitative and quantitative method. The qualitative research was done by collecting data sampling from some of the selected target markets in limited quantities, while quantitative research was done by spreading the questionnaires that will be created and distributed to the main target market but not in the number and selected resource persons. This research finds that the mobile application is deemed appropriate to be one medium that can distribute effectively and efficiently in promoting one of Indonesia culture, Balinese mask.

Abstract

Understanding and knowing the meaning of culture that shape the culture of a nation is the first step. Indonesia as a country that has various shades of different cultures from Sabang to Merauke, the diversity of cultural patterns is a matter of pride that should be preserved and passed on to generations of recipients so that its presence can be maintained. Do not let the culture of Indonesia is claimed by other countries simply because of ignorance and indifference to the Indonesian cultural heritage. Various means have been taken to promote the culture of the archipelago in conventional media such as magazines, books and even articles. Generations who have lived in abundance world of digital media technology is the next target of inheritance. So it would be nice if steps are taken to a great start to focus more on the spread of culture and passed it along the changing times and of course without losing the identity of the nation.
