Abstract

Data warehouse application is commonly used by many corporations as an analytical platform to develop marketing strategy and give advantage edge to their business. Many times, data warehouse platform need to manage huge amount of data as it needs to extract, load and transform enterprise data from many sources. To improve performance of data warehouse system, compression has been used in various ways, both at database layer or at filesystem layer. Compression brings an other benefit  as it reduce storage capacity therefore reduce cost. However compression also add data processing that may impact to overall application response time.  In this research, three different compression algorithms which are zle, lzjb and gzip were tested on data warehouse filesystem to understand the performance impact and the capacity saving benefit. Using swingbench as the benchmark tool and oracle database 12c, it shows that zle is the best compression algoritm with performance improvement of 92%, follows by lzjb with 78% performance improvement and gzip with 53% improvement. In terms of compression ratio, gzip can deliver the highest with 3.31 compression ratio, follows by lzjb with 2.17 compression ratio and zle with 1.55 compression ratio. AW.

Abstract

Similar to any other governments, Indonesia government has the role of protecting the security of its citizens via the established police unit. However, the executive unit is often unable to provide response in timely manner due to the huge data size. For the reason, an executive information system (EIS) is established in order to provide necessary information to leverage the decision making process. This work intends to establish and evaluate the executive information system and its support to facilitate the efforts to fight crimes in Indonesia territory. The EIS prototype is established and is evaluated on the basis of the six information system success factors where the required data are collected by means of questionnaire. The results suggest that the factors of system quality, information quality, easy-of-use, user satisfaction, and individual and organization impacts are very significant.

Abstract

The main goal of this research is to analyze and design a database configuration of migration and replication in PT Metro Batavia. Research methodologies used in this research are data collecting, analysis and design model. Data collecting method is conducted with library research and direct survey in the company. Analysis method is conducted by analyzing hangar system, migration and reflection process and the available problems. Design method is conducted by designing a prototype for migration process with the implementation of Oracle SQL Developer and replication process with implementation of Oracle Golden Gate. The result of this research is a prototype for configuration of migration and replication process by using Oracle Golden Gate, which can produce two sets of identical data for the purpose of backup and recovery, and also design a simple tool that is expected to help active-active or active-passive replication process. The conclusion of this research is migration process of MySQL database to Oracle database by using Oracle Golden Gate hasn’t been conducted, because Oracle Golden Gate still has bug related to binary log, so database of migration is conducted by using Oracle Golden Gate. However, replication of bi-directional in between database of Oracle by using Oracle SQL Developer can guarantee data availability and reduce work burden from primary database.

Abstract

The goals of the thesis were to create a model enterprise architecture strategic planning of IS / IT college in the form of IT blueprint with Zachman framework in STP Trisakti. Data were compiled by the main supporting documentation college events, questionnaires, interviews and field observations. Development of IT blueprint is done by utilizing the methodology of Ward & Peppard framework and EA (Enterprise Architecture) Zachman Framework is mapped into the Framework as the ultimate form of IT blueprint. Data were analyzed using analysis tools for internal and external environment. Internal environmental analysis using Value Chain, CSF (Critical Success Factor), the current application portfolio and Asset / IT, while the external environment analysis using the PEST (Political, Economic, Social, Technological), Porters five force and the latest technology trends. It also carried defining enterprise architecture in the form of business architecture, data architecture, application architecture and technology architecture. Results of the Analysis were a blueprint IT shaped matrix cell 36 Zachman. It can be concluded that the can are 5 stages of implementation in the IT blueprint STP Trisakti with three major central system development in four areas of development of the IS / IT is the application portfolio, HR IT, Hardware, Software and Networking

Abstract

Along with the development of information technology in recent era, a number of new applications emerge, especially on mobile phones. The use of mobile phones, besides as communication media, is also as media of learning, such as translator application. Translator application can be a tool to learn a language, such as English to Bahasa Indonesia translator application. The purpose of this research is to allow user to be able to translate English to Bahasa Indonesia on mobile phone easily. Translator application on this research was developed using Java programming language (especially J2ME) because of its advantage that can run on various operating systems and its open source that can be easily developed and distributed. In this research, data collection was done through literature study, observation, and browsing similar application. Development of the system used object-oriented analysis and design that can be described by using case diagrams, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, and activity diagrams. The translation process used rule-based method. Result of this research is the application of Java-based translator which can translate English sentence into Indonesian sentence. The application can be accessed using a mobile phone with Internet connection. The application has spelling check feature that is able to check the wrong word and provide alternative word that approaches the word input. Conclusion of this research is the application can translate sentence in daily conversation quite well with the sentence structure corresponds and is close to its original meaning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the feasibility of the development of mobile enterprise strategic plan, analyze the academic process and the utilization of information technology (IT), and generate documentation IT strategic planning by implementing Mobile Enterprise Architecture in the academic process of Atma Jaya University in Makassar. Data were taken from distributing questionnaires to 297 respondents and conducting interviews to 18 respondents. Data were examined using SWOT analysis, the incorporation of academic scorecard analysis and IT balanced scorecard analysis, financial analysis, as well as analytic hierarchy process (AHP). SWOT analysis results indicate that case study is in a weak position, which possibly never take advantage of opportunities since the weakness of the stand or the power is not enough to work on it. In addition, the results of the performance analysis of the utilization of information technology using the Balanced Scorecard analysis show that the average performance is sufficient. The result of documentation of IT strategic planning was analyzed with financial analysis indicating the feasibility of implementation because it provides benefits for university of 141,32%. Furthermore, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine the priority of IT strategy proposals shows that the main priority is to develop portal for student and lecturer.

Abstract

The human population significantly increases in crowded urban areas. It causes a reduction of available farming land. Therefore, a landless planting method is needed to supply the food for society. Hydroponics is one of the solutions for gardening methods without using soil. It uses nutrient-enriched mineral water as a nutrition solution for plant growth. Traditionally, hydroponic farming is conducted manually by monitoring the nutrition such as acidity or basicity (pH), the value of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Electrical Conductivity (EC), and nutrient temperature. In this research, the researchers propose a system that measures pH, TDS, and nutrient temperature values in the Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) technique using a couple of sensors. The researchers use lettuce as an object of experiment and apply the k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN) algorithm to predict the classification of nutrient conditions. The result of prediction is used to provide a command to the microcontroller to turn on or off the nutrition controller actuators simultaneously at a time. The experiment result shows that the proposed k-NN algorithm achieves 93.3% accuracy when it sets to k = 5.
