Abstract

The aim of this research to gain the result of developing instructional sets through quick on the draw with open ended problem of pyramid and prism subject validly, practically, and effectively. The learning instrument deve-lopment using Plomp model. TKKM data processed by t test, and the proportion of z.The instructional sets valid based on the average score of validity: Syllabus 4.0; Lesson Plan 4.2; Supplementary Books 4.3; Students’ Worksheets 4.3; and creative thinking test on mathematics was valid, the level of difficulty was balance, and distinctive feature was significant and reliable. The instructional sets were practical by gaining average score 3,87, the implementation of learning process was good. Students and teachers had positive responses. The instructional sets were effective by gaining: students’ creative thinking competence of mathematics beyond the KKM; creative thinking abilities of students who were given a quick on the draw learning with open ended problems better than students were given the conventional learning; and the improvement of creative thinking competence of students who were given a quick on the draw learning with open ended problems better than students were given the conventional learning.

Abstract

The aims of the research is to describe the thinking process at mild intellectual disability students to solve mathematics problem. The research was a descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the research was students of grade eight SMPN 5 Metro. Technique analyzing of the data were: (1) classifying the data, (2) presenting the data, and (3) concluding the data in each categories. The results of the research showed that thinking process for mild intellectual disability students : (1) mild intellectual disability students can establishnment understanding in thinking process; (2) mild intellectual disability students can’t establishnment opinion and students cant’t using the right strategy to solve mathematics problem; (3) mild intellectual disability can’t give conclusion.Keywords: mathematics problem, mild intellectual disability, thinking process

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce discovery learning based materials through ethnomathematics approaches on geometry transformation materials (valid, practical, and effective) and according to the needs of students. The type of this research is Research and Development (R & D) by using Plomp Model which consists of five stages: prelimenary investigation; realization/construction; test, evaluation and revision; dan implementation. The instruments were used the form of validation questionnaire, student response sheet, observation sheet of teaching materials implementation, and achievement test. Based on the research, the result of the validation of experts with the percentage of 83% (very valid), 84.50% (very practical), and the effectiveness of 85.71% (high). Based on this development research the advantages of teaching materials are material materials related to the ethnomathematics of Batik Lampung pattern on the application of the concept of geometry transformation. The weakness of teaching materials developed is that the material discussion is limited to the type of geometry transformation and its effective test is only based on the KKM. Further product development, teaching materials can cover the entire material of geometry transformation with other Lampung culture ethnomathematics studies and effectiveness tests are thoroughly tested from learning outcomes, activities and learners abilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bahan ajar geometri dasar berbasis penemuan terbimbing terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa tahun akademik 2017/2018. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampling jenuh yaitu semua anggota populasi menjadi sampel sebanyak 28 mahasiswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah paired sample t-tes yaitu dengan melihat perubahan signifikan sebelum menggunakan bahan ajar dengan sesudah menggunakan bahan ajar geometri dasar yang dikembangkan, kemudian digunakan juga N-Gain. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh bahan ajar geometri dasar berbasis penemuan terbimbing terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika pada mata kuliah Geometri Dasar.This study aims to determine the effect of basic geometry teaching materials of guided discovery-based on student achievement in 2017/2018 academic year. This research was carried out in the Mathematics Education Study Program, Teaching and Education Faculty, Muhammadiyah Metro University. The sampling technique uses saturation sampling, that is, all members of the population become a sample of 28 students. The data analysis technique used is paired sample t-test that is by looking at significant changes before using teaching materials after using the basic geometry teaching materials developed, then used ­N-Gain. Based on the results of data analysis it can be concluded that there is an influence of guided discovery-based basic geometry teaching materials on the learning achievement of students of mathematics education study program in the Basic Geometry course.

Abstract

Teaching materials is one important component in learning because teaching materials can be used for independent study. On the other hand, the lack of teaching materials are on open-ended problems leads to an underdevelopment of creativity in learning. With the open-ended problems, students are expected to have more than one solution to solve problems in everyday life, especially in mathematical problem solving. The purpose of this study is to develop teaching materials based on open-ended valildly, practically and effectively in the subject of linear algebra. This research is the development by using Plomp models which consists of three stages: preliminary research, prototyping, and assessment. Data collection technique through observation, questionnaires and tests. The instruments used were observation sheet, questionnaire sheet and a test sheet. Based on result of the research that has been done shows that the teaching materials is based on open-ended in the subject linear algebra that have been developed otherwise valid with a value of 3.43, practice with a value 3,11 or in the percentage reached 77,75%, and effective with value of learning outcomes experiment class (use teaching materials developed) higher than control class.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to describe the error and to know the cause of student error in solving trigonometric problems based on Newman Theory and cognitive style. The type of this research is qualitative descriptive research conducted at SMAN 1 Sekampung Udik. Selection of research subjects using purposive sampling, selected 4 research subjects with 2 subjects have a cognitive style reflective and 2 subjects have impulsive cognitive style. Data collection techniques used were tests and interviews, while the instruments used were: (1) cognitive style test or MFFT (Matching Familiar Figure Test), (2) trigonometric problem test, and (3) interview guides.    The results of this study can be described as follows. (1) students who have reflective cognitive style in solving trigonometric problems tend to make mistakes in the stage of transformation error and process skill error; and encoding error, (2) where as students who have impulsive cognitive style in solving trigonometric problems tend to make mistakes in the phase of comprehension error, transformation error, process skill error and encoding error. Abstract

The purpose of the development of this mathematics module is to produce products in the form of mathematical modules based on Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) material that is valid and practical. The type of research that is used is research and development (RD). The model that is used is the RD model developed by Sugiyono who has been modified. The stages which are used in this development research only stage 1 through 7. The instruments which are used were expert validation questionnaire and questionnaire response of students. Based on the results of expert validation obtained the results of the validation of material expert 78,84% (decent categories), linguists expert 85% (category of very feasible) and design expert 83,6% (a very feasible category), so that the overall percentage of the validator obtained a total percentage of 82,48% (very feasible category). The results of the small group trial were obtained from the response of students of the mathematics module was 84% (a very practical category). Based on the results, it can be concluded that the SSCS-based mathematics module material for students’ questions in SMA Negeri 1 Metro is very feasible and very practical to be used as a source of learning mathematics, especially circle material.Keyword:  circle; modules; SSCS models DOI:  http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/mtk/v8i2.pp261-272   Alternative Link - PDF

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve students mathematics learning outcome through Problem Based Learning (PBL) with QR-Code on MIPA class grade X SMA Negeri 1 Kotagajah (Senior High School in Kotagajah). This research is an Action Research Class. The subject of this research is 36 Students. This research is cyclus research with Kemmis and Mc Taggart Models consisting of: (1) planning; (2) implementation; (3 observation; and (4) reflection. Data collection technique is using in this research is tes. Based on the research result, then obtained the conclusion is Problem Based Learning with QR-code can improve students mathematics learning outcome on MIPA Class grade X SMA Negeri 1 Kotagajah. This matter showed a percentage value on the first cyclus is 47,22% and increase on the second cyclus to be 63,89%.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian  ini adalah mengembangkan bahan ajar yang layak (valid dan praktis) berbentuk handbook dengan menggunakan pendekatan nilai-nilai islam pada materi aritmatika sosial. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan langkah-langkah: potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi desain, uji coba produk, revisi produk, uji coba pemakaian, revisi produk, produk masal. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar angket validasi, lembar angket respon siswa dan lembar angket respon guru. Berdasarkan hasil validasi dengan persentase penilaian dari aspek materi dan bahasa 84,2% dikategorikan sangat valid, aspek agama 81,8% dikategorikan sangat valid, dan aspek desain 78,8% dikategorikan valid, dan rata-rata penilaian validator adalah 81,4% dengan kategori sangat valid. Sedangkan dari hasil uji coba pemakaian diperoleh rata-rata angket respon yang diberikan oleh 1 guru dan 18 peserta didik sebesar 84,3% dikategorikan sangat layak. Berdasarkan kriteria yang telah ditetapkan maka bahan ajar berbentuk handbook dengan menggunakan pendekatan nilai-nilai islam pada materi aritmatika sosial yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria valid dan praktis, menurut validator dan peserta didik. Kata kunci: Aritmatika sosial; bahan ajar; handbook; nilai-nilai Islam. AbstractThe purpose of this research is to develop appropriate (valid and practical) teaching materials in the form of a handbook using the Islamic values approach to social arithmetic material. The type of research is research and development (R & D) with steps to use are research and information collecting, planning, develop preliminary from the product, preliminary field testing, main product revision, main field testing, operational product revision, operational field testing, final product revision, and dissemination and implementation. Based on the results of the validation with the percentage of assessment from the material and language aspects 84.2% were categorized as very valid, 81.8% religious aspects were categorized as very valid, and 78.8% design aspects were categorized as valid, and the average validator assessment was 81.4% with very valid categories. Whereas from the results of the trial use, the average response questionnaire given by 1 teacher and 18 students at 84.3% was categorized as very feasible. Based on the established criteria, the teaching material in the form of a handbook using the Islamic values approach to social arithmetic material developed meets valid and practical criteria, according to the validator and students. Keywords: Social arithmetics; teaching material; handbook; Islamic values.
