Abstract

The students’ misconceptions and attitudes in teaching learning fat through transparent soap-making lab has been investigated. The study was conducted on 36 science students on the 3th grade at one of the state senior high school in Bandung. The research used descriptive method, with diagnostic tests, questionnaires attitude scale “Likert”, observation, and interviews as the instruments. It was found that, 50% of students had misconceptions on physical properties of fats and oils concepts. The students had a good perception on teaching learning process as well as the relationship of fat with daily life.Keywords: misconceptions, attitudes, fat

Abstract

This research had been conducted to find study program which can increase ability of chemistry prospective teachers for doing assessment chemistry learning. Research process is held in LPTK in Bandung by 52 teacher candidates at validation test and 112 teacher candidates at implementation test. Design research and development is applied with four phases. Those were 1) preliminary study; 2) program planning; 3) program validation; and 4) program implementation. Data collected through test of the chemistry education evaluation theory, prospective teachers activity, and exercises. Data was collected using test, observation sheet, portfolio, questionnaire and field note. Data analysis used descriptive statistics of normalized gain score by t test. The research produced an inquiry based chemistry education evaluation program (PEPKBI). The program was consist of design, implementation and evaluation of learning Chemistry components. Results of research indicated that PEPKBI program was effective to increase score of the evaluation of chemistry learning theory (<g> = 0,462),Keywords: assessment, chemistry learning, program development

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian degradasi sifat toksik logam berat krom oleh bakteri melalui rekasi enzimatik yang mengubah krom(VI) toksik menjadi krom(III) yang kurang toksik. Penelitian dilakukan dengan memvariasikan pengaruh beberapa parameter terhadap reaksi enzimatik ini yaitu; jumlah bakteri, tingkat keasaman dan konsentrasi krom(VI).  Untuk menentukan konsentrasi krom(VI) yang tereduksi menjadi krom(III) digunakan teknik spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Jumlah krom(VI) yang tereduksi menjadi krom(III) ditentukan dengan menghitung selisih antara jumlah krom(VI) sebelum dan sesudah proses transformasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas transformasi krom(VI) menjadi krom(III) dipengaruhi oleh parameter-parameter di atas. Transformasi krom(VI) menjadi krom(III)  sangat dipengaruhi oleh pH larutan. Kondisi keasaman optimum untuk terjadinya transformasi krom(VI) menjadi krom(III) adalah pada pH = 7.  Proses transformasi ini  meningkat secara linear sebagai fungsi konsentrasi awal, dengan konsentrasi maksimum 30 ppm. Transformasi ini juga berlangsung efektif pada jumlah bakteri satu ose. Tingkat transformasi pada kondisi optimum mencapai 88,4% Kata Kunci; Biodegradasi, krom, limbah cair

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Pengembangan Penilaian Keterampilan Proses Sains Berbasis Kelas pada Pembelajaran Kimia”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh instrumen penilaian berbasis kelas yang dapat mengukur keterampilan proses yang dimiliki oleh peserta didik dalam pembelajaran kimia serta memperoleh tes tertulis yang memenuhi kriteria penilaian yang baik melalui uji reliabilitas, uji validitas, analisis taraf kesukaran, dan daya pembeda. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan dengan desain penelitian adalah pre-experimental designs one-shot case study. Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu SMA Negeri di kota Bogor dengan sampel penelitian kelas XI IPA 2 sebanyak 36 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah berupa tes keterampilan proses (tertulis), Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS), dan lembar observasi siswa serta pedoman wawancara dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tes keterampilan proses yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi kriteria tes yang baik berdasarkan validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran, dan daya pembeda. Namun, Proporsi tingkat kesukarannya tidak tersebar secara normal karena tidak adanya soal tes yang sukar. Soal-soal dalam Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) yang dikembangkan belum semuanya memiliki validitas yang baik. Abstract

This research is title “Test Development and Analysis of First Grade Senior High School Final Examination in chemistry Based on Classical Test Theory and Item Response Theory”. This research is conducted to develop a standard test instrument for final examination in senior high school at first grade using analysis based on classical test theory and item response theory. The test is a multiple choice test which consists of 75 items. Each item has five options. The research method is research and development method to get a product of test items which fulfill item criterion such as validity, reliability, item discrimination, item difficulty and distracting options quality based on classical test theory and validity, reliability, item discrimination, item difficulty and pseudo-guessing based on item response theory. The three parameter item response theory model is used in this research. Research and development method is conducted until preliminary field test to 102 first grade students in senior high school. Based on the research result, the test fulfills criterion as a good instrument based on classical test theory and item response theory. The final examination test items have vary of item quality so that some of them need a revision to make them better either for the stem and the options. From the total of 75 test items, 21 test items are declined and 54 test items are accepted.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students’ decision making strategy to answer TIMSS science reasoning test in cognitive reasoning domain. This research is quantitative descriptive research. The result shows that students tend to use compensatory strategy for decision making in solving multiple-choice questions and use rational category to answer essay questions. The result shows that more than half of students have been able to answer the questions TIMSS science tests correctly.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to find the impact of feedback in formative assessment in the learning process activity and students learning outcomes on learning chemistry. The method used on this study was quasi experiment research with non-equivalent control group design. The result showed that the application of feedback in formative assessment has a positive impact toward students learning process activity. Students become more enthusiastic, motivated, and more active on the learning process. Thus in this study can be conclude that feedback in formative assessment have a positive impact toward the learning process activity to form a habits of mind.

Abstract

The aim of this Research and Development (R&D) study was to develop performance assesment instrument in a form of task and rubric to evaluate students’ performance in acid-base titration practicum. Subjects were eleventh-grader science students in one of senior high schools in Bandung. Instruments were validation sheets, observation format, and interview guidelines. Validation and reliability test showed that the performance assesment instrument validity and reliability score were 0.84 and 0.91, respectively. The application of the instrument showed that students’ performance can be uncovered in which it can be categorized as excellent, good, poor, or did not carry out every practicum steps. It can be concluded that the performance assesment instrument can be used as a good assessment tools in evaluating students’ performance in acid-base titration practicum.ABSTRAKPenelitian Research and development (R&D) ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen penilaian kinerja berupa tugas (task) dan rubrik (rubric) untuk menilai kinerja siswa pada praktikum titrasi asam basa. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA di salah satu SMA di Kota Bandung. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar validasi, format observasi dan pedoman wawancara. Uji validasi dan reliabilitas menunjukan bahwa instrumen penilaian kinerja yang dikembangkan memiliki validitas dan reliabilitas sebesar 0,84 dan 0,91. Hasil penggunaan instrumen penilaian kinerja ini menunjukkan bahwa instrumen ini dapat mengungkap kinerja siswa dalam praktikum titrasi asam basa sehingga kinerja dapat dikategorikan menjadi sangat baik, baik, kurang, atau tidak melakukan setiap tahapan praktikum. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa instrumen penilaian kinerja yang dikembangkan memenuhi syarat sebagai alat evaluasi yang baik untuk menilai kinerja siswa pada praktikum titrasi asam basa.
