Abstract

The Community Service Activity / Kegiatan pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) was held in Cibinuang Village, Kuningan District, Kuningan Regency with the target of young people who are members of Karang Taruna Tunas Mekar as youth organization in Cibinuang Village. The problems faced by partner institution in this activity are: a) lack of socialization about the existence of youth organizations and their roles in the development of rural communities, b) less awareness and participation of youth in organizations, both administrator/ other members, c) training of administrators / members in making work programs have never been done. The method of implementation in this activity is active participation with stages namely 1). Seminar and discussing about the role of youth organizations, 2). Providing technical training in making organization programs, 3) Mentoring in making proposals. Seminar about the roles of youth organization for community empowerment in youth organizations in Cibinuang Village presented material in accordance with the theme. The materials presented to the participants including: the role of youth in village development, the mechanism for preparing programs and how to make proposals for effective funding requests. The training in making organization programs and activity proposals were divided into three stages, namely lectures and discussion about the role of youth organizations, providing technical training in the preparation of organization programs and making activity proposals, and mentoring in making organization programs and proposals.  Based on the process PkM activities, it can be seen that 1) there were enhancing youth's understanding and awareness of their capacity in developing villages through youth organizations, 2) members and administrators of youth organizations were motivated to play an active / participating role in building themselves and their villages, 3) administrators of youth organizations to arrange a program, 4) the management of the youth organization was able to make a proposal from each organization program that will be submitted to the Cibinuang Village Government. Keywords: Youth Capacity, Youth Organization, Organization Program AbstrakKegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini dilaksanakan di Desa Cibinuang Kecamatan Kuningan Kabupaten Kuningan dengan target pemuda-pemudi yang tergabung dalam Karang Taruna Tunas Mekar yang merupakan organisasi kepemudaan di tingkat Desa Cibinuang.  Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh lembaga mitra dalam kegiatan ini yaitu: a) kurang tersosialisasikanya eksistensi organisasi pemuda dan perannya dalam pembangunan masyarakat desa, b) kesadaran dan partisipasi pemuda dalam organisasi baik pengurus/anggota kurang, c) pelatihan pada pengurus/anggota dalam membuat program kerja belum pernah dilakukan.  Metode pelaksanaan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu partisipasi aktif dengan tahapan yakni 1). Ceramah dan tanya jawab tentang peran organisasi pemuda, 2). Memberikan pelatihan teknis pembuatan program kerja, 3) Pendampingan dalam membuat proposal kegiatan. Seminar tentang peran organisasi pemuda untuk pemberdayaan masyarakat pada organisasi pemuda di Desa Cibinuang Kec. / Kab. Kuningan diisi dengan pemaparan materi yang sesuai dengan tema. Materi-materi yang disampaikan kepada peserta meliputi: peran pemuda dalam pembangunan desa, mekanisme penyusunan program kerja dan cara pembuatan proposal kegiatan untuk permintaan dana yang efektif. Pelatihan pembuatan program kerja dan proposal kegiatan dibagi menjadi tiga kegiatan, yaitu ceramah dan tanya jawab tentang peran organisasi pemuda, memberikan pelatihan teknis penyusunan program kerja dan pembuatan proposal kegiatan, dan pendampingan dalam membuat program kerja dan proposal kegiatan. Berdasarkan proses kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat dapat dilihat adanya 1) peningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran pemuda terhadap kapasitasnya dalam membangun desa melalui wadah organisasi pemuda, 2) anggota maupun pengurus organisasi kepemudaan termotivasi  untuk berperan aktif/berpartisipasi dalam membangun diri maupun desanya, 3) pengurus organisasi kepemudaan dapat menyusun program kerja, 4) pengurus organisasi kepemudaan mampu membuat proposal kegiatan dari setiap program kerja yang akan diajukan ke Pemerintah Desa Cibinuang.

Abstract

Community Service (PkM) is a medium to connect higher education/university with the community in order to make community being able to face challenges. In the future, especially in the era of globalization, entrepreneurship in Kuningan Regency is one of the pilot projects that can be used as opportunities to improve community welfare through entrepreneurship opportunities. This service aims at Community Empowerment through improving the management of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) for village officials and BUMDes managers as a basis for increasing capacity both individually and government in Cibinuang Village, Kuningan District, Kuningan Regency. The method used in this activity is the lecture method, question and answer method and discussion method. The core objective of this service is community empowerment through improving the management of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), so that BUMDes managers have the ability to run programs that are suitable on target so they can be accounted for in accordance with applicable regulations, especially in Cibinuang Village, Kuningan District, Kuningan Regency. It is hoped that further program in the future, it requires follow-up by the Regional Government and all related parties and it is necessary to carry out a closer and more planned collaboration between universities and local governments to explore the potencies that exist in the region.Pengabdian  kepada Masyarakat  (PkM)  merupakan  suatu  media  untuk  menjembatani  dunia pendidikan  dengan  masyarakat  dimana  Perguruan  Tinggi  dihadapkan  pada  masalah  bagaimana  agar  warga masyarakat mampu menghadapi tantangan. Lebih jauh ke depan di era globalisasi  dengan berwirausaha di Kabupaten Kuningan menjadi  salah  satu  pilot  proyek  yang  dapat  dijadikan  peluang  untuk  meningkatkan  kesejahteraan masyarakat  melalui  peluang  berwirausaha.  Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk Pemberdayaan  Masyarakat  melalui peningkatan pengelolaan Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes) bagi aparatur desa dan Pengelola BUMDes sebagai dasar untuk meningkatkan kemampuan baik secara individu maupun secara lembaga desa di Desa Cibinuang Kecamatan Kuningan Kabupaten Kuningan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu metode ceramah, tanya jawab dan metode diskusi. Adapun tujuan inti dari pengabdian ini adalah pemberdayaan  masyarakat  melalui peningkatan pengelolaan Badan Usaha Milik Desa (BUMDes), sehingga pengelola BUMDes memilki kemampuan dalam menjalankan program yang tepat sasaran agar bisa dipertanggungjawabkan sesuai dengan aturan yang berlaku, khususnya di Desa Cibinuang Kecamatan Kuningan Kabupaten Kuningan.  Harapan  lebih  jauh  ke  depan tentunya  diperlukan tindak  lanjut  oleh  Pemerintah  Daerah dan semua pihak yang terkait serta perlu dilakukan kerjasama yang lebih erat dan terencana antara Perguruan Tinggi dengan Pemerintah Daerah untuk menggali potensi-potensi yang ada di wilayah tersebut.

Abstract

This descriptive qualitative research was about the analysis of figurative language in English stand-up comedy. The purposes of this study were to identify the types of figurative language and to describe the functions of figurative language found in the selected video of stand-up comedy show. The data source was taken from one of selected videos of Russell Peters stand-up comedy show. Russell Peters’s speech contained about figurative language in the video is observed. The data were collected through content analysis technique by collecting the verbal language used by Russell Peters. The first research questions was analyzed by McArthur (1992) theory and supported by Crystal (1994) theory to find out the types of figurative language found in English stand-up comedy. To answer the second research questions about the functions of figurative language found in English stand-up comedy was analyzed by Chunqi (2014) theory and suppoted by Kokemuller (2001) theory and Turner (2016) theory. After analyzing data, it was found that Irony was the most dominant figurative language used by Russell Peters in “Russell Peters Comedy Now! Uncensored” with 29.94%. It was happened because the kind of topics used by Russell Peters in that show were about ethnics (canadian, white people, black people, brown people and asian), society case (beating child) and culture (accent and life style of various ethnics in the world, habitual of various ethnics in the world). Irony and Hyperbole were needed dominantly in the performance, to entertain the audiences in the stand-up comedy show. The function of eleven types of figurative language which were used by Russell were concluded. The functions were to amuse people in comedic situations, to expand meaning, to explain abstract emotions, to make sentence interesting represented and give creative additions. Abstract

Abstract: This study examined the patterns of intonation and kinds of information structure that occur in EFL learners. The objectives of this study were: (1) to know the patterns of intonation that occur in EFL learners; (2) to know kinds of information structure that occur in EFL learners. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative and the subjects of this study is a debater and also a student in English Department at one of private university in Kuningan, West Java. Techniques of collecting data used in this research were library research, observation and interview. Halliday’s theory and PRAAT Software Analysis use in this research to analyze the data. Based on the data analysis, it can be known that: (1) There were 5 kinds of intonation pattern used by the speaker: fall, rise (final), rise (non-final), fall-rise (final), fall-rise (non-final); (2) There were 158 clauses with 25 independent clauses and 133 dependent clauses from the respondent’s performance; (3) There were three systems from information structure: tonality, tonicity, and tone; (4) In tonality system, H-TS-T with the percentage 18% was the most pattern used by the respondent; (5) Given-New-Given (G-N-G) with the precentage 36% was mostly used in her performance based on tonicity system; (6) Incomplete information (rise non-final) was the most dominant intonation pattern used by the respondent with the precentage 33%.Keywords: intonation, information structure, EFL learners

Abstract

Natural disasters certainly have negative impact on the environment and society in community health, comfort, and economic conditions. This study aims to asertain and analyze the regulation─regional government service authority in organizing natural disaster management in Indonesia. This study employed empirical legal method involving primary and secondary data and was conducted in Kuningan Regency. The data were collected through interviews, observations and literature studies. The finding revealed the regional government service authority is governed in Article 9 of Law Number 24 of 2007─Disaster Management, Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 21 of 2008─the Implementation of Disaster Management, and Regional Regulation Number 6 of 2011─ the Implementation of Disaster Management. Finally, their authority is mostly defined clearly in Law Number 24 of 2007 concerning Disaster Management. This law establishes apparent rules that each duty and function is already appropriate.

Abstract

As a bond, marriage is part of civil law (private law), and is also part of criminal law (public law) which in the process fulfills the material elements as crimes and violations. Criminal acts within the scope of marriage will have an impact that affects both the victim and the environment concerned, because it will lead to legal uncertainty, disorderly population administration, neglect of protection of the rights of women and children. The purpose of this service is to focus more on the community to be more concerned with their surroundings and be aware of the risks that can lead to criminal acts within the scope of marriage so that the community must take an active role in carrying out various comprehensive efforts. The approach method used in this community service is through the method of socialization and discussion, where counseling participants are given information about criminal acts within the scope of marriage and then given the opportunity to ask questions and discuss in the forum. It is hoped that with this counseling, community members can become motivators as well as community members who participate in helping efforts to overcome criminal acts within the scope of marriage that can occur in everyday life, as people who have the potential to prevent criminal acts within the scope of marriage, assisting victims of criminal acts within the scope of marriage, as well as playing an active role in law enforcement in Cibinuang Village, so as to prevent and reduce the incidence of criminal acts within the scope of marriage, thereby reducing the number of domestic violence and creating an orderly and safe society.Sebagai suatu ikatan, perkawinan merupakan bagian dari hukum perdata (hukum privat), dan juga merupakan bagian dari hukum pidana (hukum publik) yang apabila dalam prosesnya memenuhi unsur-unsur materil sebagai tindakan kejahatan dan pelanggaran. Tindak pidana dalam ruang lingkup perkawinan akan memberikan dampak yang mempengaruhi baik korban maupun lingkungan yang berkaitan, karena akan menimbulkan adanya ketidakpastian hukum, tidak tertibnya adminstrasi kependudukan, terabaikannya perlindungan hak perempuan dan anak. Tujuan pengabdian ini lebih menitikberatkan pada masyarakat untuk lebih peduli dengan sekitar dan menyadari risiko-risiko yang dapat menimbulkan tindak pidana dalam ruang lingkup perkawinan sehingga masyarakat harus turut berperan aktif untuk melakukan berbagai upaya yang komprehensif. Metode pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah melalui metode sosialisasi dan diskusi, dimana peserta penyuluhan diberikan informasi mengenai tindak pidana dalam ruang lingkup perkawinan dan kemudian diberikan kesempatan untuk tanya jawab dan diskusi dalam forum. Diharapkan dengan adanya penyuluhan ini, anggota masyarakat dapat menjadi motivator dan juga sebagai anggota masyarakat yang turut serta membantu upaya penanggulangan tindak pidana dalam ruang lingkup perkawinan yang dapat terjadi di kehidupan sehari-hari, sebagai masyarakat yang berpotensi dalam mencegah tindak pidana dalam ruang lingkup perkawinan, membantu korban tindak pidana dalam ruang lingkup perkawinan, serta berperan aktif dalam penegakan hukum di Desa Cibinuang, sehingga dapat mencegah dan mengurangi kejadian tindak pidana dalam ruang lingkup perkawinan, dengan demikian akan menurunkan angka KDRT dan menciptakan masyarakat yang tertib dan aman.
