Abstract

The experiment was conducted to examine the effects of indigenous mycorrhizae inoculation and cow manure doses on the growth and yield of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis) at production stages I. It was conducted at farmer plantation in Semabu Village Tebo Regency located at -1.473543, 102484062. This research was arranged in a randomized block design consisting of two factors. The first factor is inoculation of mycorrhizae isolates comprising two levels, i.e. without and with inoculation, and the second factor is the dose of cow manure comprising five levels, i.e. without cow manure, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of the recommended dose of cow manure at Production Stages I (30 kg plant-1). The variables observed were plants girth, leaf midrib, number of bunches per plant, weight per bunch, weight of fresh fruit bunches per plant, and root infection. The results showed that there was interaction effect between inoculation of mycorrhizae and cow manure doses. The inoculation of mycorrhizae and cow manure at a dose of 50% of the recommended dose were able to increase oil palm growth and yield.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana respon tanaman seledri apabila pupuk anorganik dikurangi dan disubsitusi dengan limbah padat pabrik kelapa sawit decanter cake. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Lahan Petani di Desa Tangkit Baru, Kecamatan Sungai Gelam, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok satu faktor yaitu decanter cake dan pupuk anorganik (NPK) terdiri dari 7 taraf, yaitu : Pupuk NPK 100% (sesuai anjuran 200 kg urea/ha, 150 kg/ha SP-36, 200 kg/ha KCl), decanter cake 15 ton/ha, 20 ton/ha, decanter cake 15 ton/ha + 75% dosis NPK ( Pengurangan 25% dosis NPK), decanter cake 15 ton/ha + 50% dosis NPK (Pengurangan 50% dosis NPK), decanter cake 20 ton/ha + 75% dosis NPK (Pengurangan 25% dosis NPK), decanter cake 20 ton/ha + 50 % dosis NPK (Pengurangan 50% dosis NPK). Penelitian ini menggunakan empat ulangan. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah batang per rumpun, bobot segar per tanaman dan Laju Tumbuh Tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa respon tanaman terhadap pengurangan pupuk anorganik 50 persen yang disubsitusi dengan decanter cake 15 ton per hektar memberikan bobot basah tanaman, jumlah daun dan jumlah batang seledri tertinggi. Untuk parameter tinggi tanaman dan laju tumbuh tanaman tertinggi menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan nyata antara 15 ton per hektar dan 20 ton perhektar dari decanter cake pada pengurangan pupuk NPK 50 persen.

Abstract

Now rice can be planted in the yard, using polybags and SRI Method (one seed per pot). Liquid organic fertilizer based on local microorganism (LOM) which is obtained by fermentation livestock urine and extract of golden snail. This extract is used as biodecomposer to ferment livestock waste into solid and liquid fertilizer. The fertilizer is used for black rice plant in polybag. This technology was applied in Sri Agung village from Sido Rukun and Sido Mukti area, specially for womens from several RT and for agriculture womens association that are active in the utilization of yard. The target is to increase the yield of the yard, previously no rice crops, now exist, at least each pot produced 500 g of dry black rice, 100 liters of liquid organic fertilizer per month and 50 kg of solid fertilizer per two months. The result showed, the level of PKK participation when mentoring is high because from 50 people, 40 people are present in every activity. Evaluation showed there are high farmer participation in land preparation and demonstration of RINMAS technology and low level farmers participation in implementation SRI method. It is recommended to planting rice on the yard.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan kombinasi terbaik dari pupuk anorganik dan bahan organik dari limbah pabrik kelapa sawit yang memberikan pertumbuhan dan bobot segar kailan terbaik yang ditanam pada tanah bekas tambang batu bara. Penanaman menggunakan media ini perlu dilakukan dengan tujuan pemanfaatan lahan terlantar untuk perluasan areal pertanian. Dalam penelitian ini diteliti sebelas perlakuan kombinasi persentase pengurangan pupuk NPK dari dosis anjuran + Decanter Cake (DC) limbah pabrik kelapa sawit. Parameter yang diamati adalah pertambahan tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun, luas daun dan bobot segar tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kombinasi perlakuan terbaik terhadap pertambahan tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun adalah pada kombinasi 50% atau 75% NPK dari dosis anjuran dengan DC 20 ton per hektar. Untuk luas daun dan bobot segar tanaman adalah pada pupuk NPK 50 persen + DC 15 ton per hektar. Kesimpulannya adalah untuk mendapatkan hasil kailan terbaik di tanah bekas tambang batu bara adalah dengan pemupukan NPK 50 persen dari dosis anjuran + Decanter Cake 15 ton per hektar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan kombinasi terbaik dari decanter cake (DC) danpupuk kandang ayam (PKA) terhadap hasil kedelai. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalahRancangan Acak Kelompok dan perlakuannya adalah kombinasi dari DC dan PKA yaitu kontrol(pupuk anorganik dosis rekomendasi: 100 kg/ha NPK), DC 15 ton/ha +PKA 0 ton/ha, DC 10 ton/ha + PKA 5 ton/ha, DC 7,5 ton/ha + PKA 7,5 ton/ha, DC 5 ton/ha + PKA 10 ton/ha, DC 0 ton/ha+PKA 15 ton/ha. Parameter yang diamati : Jumlah cabang produktif, jumlah polong per tanaman, jumlah polong berisi, hasil biji kedelai. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan sidik ragam dan dilanjutkandengan Uji DMRT pada taraf α =5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi DC danPKA dapat memperbaiki sifat kimia tanah, jumlah cabang produktif, jumlah polong per tanaman,jumlah polong berisi dan hasil biji kedelai. Kombinasi terbaik terhadap hasil kedelai tertinggiadalah pada kombinasi DC 5,0 ton/ha dan PKA 10,0 ton/ha.

Abstract

Pepper (Piper nigrum L.) is a commodity of high economic value, but the production is still low. The main reason is the lack of availability for good pepper seedling. Pepper has been commercially propagated by cuttings. To optimize pepper cutting growth could be done through the application of plant growth regulator (PGR). PGR can also be obtained from plant extracts. Some parts of the plant can be used as an exogenous growth regulator hence it contains many hormones that plants need. This experiment was conducted at Teaching and Research Farm, Universitas Jambi to select the best plant extract as an exogenous growth regulator that could induce root and growth of pepper cutting. Five plant extracts, animal urine, and synthetic growth regulator were used as treatment namely: Rootone-F as control, coconut water (Cocos nucifera L.), cow urine, extract of mung bean sprouts (Vigna radiata) + moringa leaf extract (Moringa sp.), young corn (Zea mays) seed extract + moringa leaf extract, young corn seed extract + moringa leaf extract, bamboo shoot extract + banana hump (Musa paradisiaca) extract. The experiment was set in the form of randomized complete design with three replications. Result revealed that synthetic plant growth regulators and plant extracts as exogenous growth regulator have a significant effect on the growth of pepper cuttings. Coconut water gave the best of pepper seedling growth based on the percentage of live seedling, percentage of cutting sprouts, shoot length, root length and shoot dry weight.

Abstract

Grafting bibit kopi memiliki tujuan menghasilkan tanaman dengan karakteristik terbaik dari dua varietas kopi yang disambungkan. Kopi robusta digunakan sebagai batang bawah, karena lebih tahan terhadap kondisi yang tidak menguntungkan di lahan gambut. Upaya peningkatan ketahanan batang bawah dapat memanfaatkan mikoriza dan disambungkan dengan kopi liberika sebagai batang atas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  mendapatkan bibit kopi Liberika unggul hasil grafting dengan kopi Robusta bermikoriza serta mendapatkan panjang entres kopi Liberika yang mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan bibit kopi Liberika hasil sambung pucuk. Percobaan ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap faktorial dengan dua faktor dan empat ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah inokulasi mikoriza (tanpa aplikasi mikoriza dan aplikasi mikoriza gabungan Glomus sp-1a dan Glomus sp-3c) dan  faktor kedua berupa panjang entres (10, 15, 20 dan 25 cm). Parameter yang diamati adalah persentase keberhasilan sambungan, waktu pecah tunas, pertambahan tinggi bibit, pertambahan jumlah daun, jumlah tunas, bobot kering tunas, dan infeksi mikoriza. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan respons bibit kopi Liberika hasil grafting dengan bibit kopi Robusta bermikoriza terbaik diperoleh pada panjang entres 15 cm, sedangkan yang disambungkan dengan Robusta tidak bermikoriza diperoleh pada panjang entres 25 cm. Pertumbuhan bibit kopi Liberika hasil grafting dengan bibit kopi Robusta terbaik pada berbagai panjang entres diperoleh pada kopi Robusta bermikoriza.” The main goal of coffee grafting is to create a crop with the best characteristic of two coffee varieties in one plant. Robusta coffee is used as the rootstock, which is more resistant to constraints and unfavorable conditions in the peatland. The effort to increase rootstock resistance is inoculated by mycorrhizae and grafted with Liberica coffee as the scion. This study aimed to obtain the best scion length in order to increase the growth of Liberica coffee with Robusta coffee as the inoculated rootstock. The experiment used factorial completely randomized design with the first factor was mycorrhizae inoculation (without inoculation and inoculation of Glomus sp-1a and Glomus sp-3c combination) and the second factor was  the length of scion (10, 15, 20 and 25 cm). The variables observed were the percentage of success grafted plants, shoot break time, growth (plant height, number of leave, number of shoots, and shoot dry weight) and mycorrhizae infection. The results showed that the plant inoculated by mycorrhizae and scion lenght of 15 cm gave the best percentage of the success graft, shoot break time, and growth of scion. While, the root stock without inoculation showed the best result with the scion length 25 cm. The best growth of grafted plant was obtained in all scion length with mycorrhizae inoculation.

Abstract

The research was conducted at Agriculture Researh Farm, Faculty ofAgriculture, Jambi University. The aim of this research were todetermine the effect of the combination of different material and dosesof organic liquid fertilizers on growth and yield of celery (Apiumgraveolens, L.). Abstract

The aim of this research was to examine the effect of different material and dosages of liquid organic fertilizer on growth and yield of lettuce. The experiment was conducted at Agriculture farm, Jambi University. The laboratory analysis of soil and plant was conducted at Agriculture Laboratory and material of organic fertilizers in BALITRO, Bogor. Research design used factorial, arranged with randomized complete block designed. The treatment are Factor I material of organic compost liquid, control (p0), Imperata cylindrica (p1), Cromolaena odorata (p2) and Leucena lecochepala (p3), and the second factor are dosage, control (d0), 5 ml (d1), 10 ml (d2) and 15 ml (d3). Result showed that there was interaction affect between liquid compost material and dosage on growth parameter, number of leaves, leaf area, plant height, fresh weight dan plant yield. The trend of growth parameter indicated that compost material Cromolaena odorata at dosage 15 ml showed the highest. The same result was achieved at lettuce yield. However, in this research the optimum combination of liquid compost material and dosage was not yet attainable.Key words: Fertilizers, lettuce, cromolaena, leucena, imperata

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to analysis the growth and yield of Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L) at different type of organic liquid fertilizers. The experiment has conducted at Agriculture Faculty Research Farm, Jambi University. Six treatments were arranged in Randomized Completed Block Design. The treatments are kinds of liquid organic fertilizers, they are P0 (none of liquid organic fertilizers), P1 (Golden Harvest liquid organic fertilizers), P2 (NASA liquid organic fertilizers), P3 (Compost Tea liquid organic fertilizers), P4 (Nutrisi Saputra liquid organic fertilizers), P5 (Bio Subur liquid organic fertilizers), and P6 (Alam Natural I liquid organic fertilizers). The result shows that there is significant effect of liquid organic fertilizers to every parameter of growth analysis: average leaf area index, average net assimilation rate and average plant growth rate. The trend of growth parameter indicated that Golden Harvest always achieved the highest. The highest lettuce yield was achieved at Golden Harvest liquid organic fertilizers, but there are no significant differences effect between Golden Harvest and Bio Subur.Key words : Lettuce, growth, yield, liquid
