Abstract

The progress and development of the industrial world in this industrial era requires technicians to improve their abilities to understand and understand how a system works and how the process of doing work according to procedures, one of the absolute requirements that must be owned by all human resources working in the industrial sector. heavy equipment. The Test Bench is a tool that makes it easy to carry out the disassembly and assembly of electrical components in a portable way. The design of the Test Bench is the main support in making the tool so that it can be used for testing tools. There are several stages in the process of making the Test Bench including the selection of materials, tools, the process of cutting materials, the process of drilling materials, the process of welding, and the process of painting. The Test Bench for starting the motor makes it easier for practical work on disassembly, assembly and testing of starting motors to be more efficient, effective and timely based on the procedures that have been made.

Abstract

A repeatedly used cooking oil is also called as used cooking oil. Used cooking oil from 17 entrepreneurs in Palaran Sub-District is 161,5 liters/day or 50,65 tons/year. Used cooking oil can result in pollution to the environment due to the increasing number of acids and the number of peroxide. The research objectives of this literature study is to find out the effects of the mass adsorbent in the refining process of cooking oil with the activated charcoal adsorbent from sugar cane on the number of acids and the number of peroxide. A lot of sugar cane has a content of cellulose 45%, lignin 18%, Pentosan 32% and others 5%, so it can be used as a material of active charcoal which can be applied as adsorbent for the purification of used cooking oil. The process of refining the oil using adsorption method by varying the mass of active charcoal adsorbent. The collection of secondary data on the research of this literature was sourced from Triyanto (2013), Irmawati and Syahrir (2018) and Bariah (2020) who have examined the mass influence of active charcoal adsorbent on the number of acids and numbers of peroxide. Abstract

Design and manufacture of this simulator aims to explain how the movement of the differential components. The components of this differential simulation consist of a differential case, pinion gear or spider gear, side gear, spider shaft, electric motor, pulley, v-belt and dimmer (motor speed controller). The method used in making this simulator is to start by first making a simulator design and then continuing with the collection of tools and materials needed. From testing the components of the simulator tool which was carried out for 50 minutes, it was found that every 10 minutes the temperature increased due to the lubrication system that was not maximized. Tests to determine the correlation between the dimmer and the RPM of the electric motor, it was found that any decrease in the resistance value will result in an increase in the RPM value of the electric motor. These results also show that the maximum value of the motor RPM after being assembled is 1435 RPM. Then the test when given a load found that the shaft axle rotation speed of the differential will change if there is a load on one side. From this test, it can be seen that there is an increase in the RPM value on the side of the shaft axle which rotates freely when the other shaft is given a load. With this simulator, it can also provide an overview of how the movement of the differential gears contained in the axle of a unit vehicle so that you can understand how it works

Abstract

Lack of understanding of students graduating from the Samarinda State Polytechnic Heavy Equipment Engineering Study Program and the availability of facilities in the form of teaching aids that support learning about Electrical Systems, especially Charging Systems at the Samarinda State Polytechnic Heavy Equipment Engineering Workshop. Charging System is a system that converts mechanical energy from the engine into electrical energy to charge the battery and supply electric current to operate the electrical system of a vehicle. When the ignition switch is in the on position and the electric motor is turned on to rotate the alternator, the alternator will carry out its duties in the Charging System and recharge the battery. This teaching aid can explain how the series of components of the Charging System and the working system of the Charging System. The aim of this research is to determine the amount of output supplied by the alternator when it is at a certain RPM with the alternator component belonging to the Caterpillar 390D unit. This teaching aid uses a 24V 95 ampere alternator, 2 HP1 phase AC electric motor, 12V battery, belt and monitor panel as the main components. To support this Charging System props, a stand is used.

Abstract

The hydraulic oil filter is one of the components contained in the hydraulic system which functions to filter the impurities contained in the oil so that it does not circulate into the system. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of the original and non-original filters in relation to the damage that occurred to the control valve. The results indicated that the damage to the spool valve was caused by hydraulic oil contaminated with water, resulting in corrosion on its surface. Visual inspection of the hydraulic oil filter reveals particles found in the filer element.

Abstract

Safety cannot be considered only important but is something that must be considered because negligence in Safety can result in serious injury to death. Therefore, SIMAB is an innovation to support security and safety, health, and the work environment for the convenience of working. SIMAB (License to Operate Electronic Heavy Equipment), this tool is capable of not providing operating access to those who do not have a license or password access, thereby increasing the security of the unit and workers. The research was conducted by the author with a literature review of related research, planning, designing, assembling, testing, measuring and reporting. This tool has met the author's expectations because it can work as expected. The case study that the author takes is the implementation of the 914G Caterpillar Wheel Loader unit. This tool is very satisfying and can create goals to improve security and safety in order to maintain work productivity, because it can work well.

Abstract

In the process of construction work, operators need accuracy in the process of finishing land leveling works such as road highway building, land reclamation, large commercial, landfill installation, so as to increase productivity. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to manufacture and implement a ground leveling finishing tool using Arduino IDE software and Atmega 328 microcontroller on the Dozer D3K Caterpillar heavy equipment unit. The placement of a series of components from the Grade Monitoring Assist includes the ultrasonic sensor on the lift cylinder, gyro and accelerometer at the top center of the blade, as well as a display that displays the results of parameter readings. Connections between components in Grade Monitoring Assist are cables that integrate all installed components. The results of testing the movement of the blade up and down position to get an accuracy value of 97.30% and an error of 2.70%. While the movement of the blade down position has an accuracy value of 96.50% and an error of 2.50%. And Tests by moving the blade according to the implement movement angle at the maximum blade angle position (either side) with an average error value of 1.48o, cutting ditches (angle V) an average error value of 0.676o

Abstract

Dalam banyak aplikasi lapangan telah melakukan penyaliran pompa tambang dengan dasar teknik pertambangan  saja tanpa memahami  dasar-dasar pompa tambang seperti kemampuan pompa itu sendiri, pembacaan kurva pada masing masing pompa itu sendiri, moyoritas dunia tambang saat ini hanya mementingkan air keluar sehingga life time pada  pompa  itu sendiri  menjadi  singkat dan tidak terukur. Penelitian  ini dilakukan studi survey disalah satu mining terbuka site asam-asam coal project utnuk dapatkan data sistim pemompaan untuk di analisa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui desain perhitungan head loss pada pipa dan daya konsumsi bahan bakar pada sistim pemompaan dengan multiflow MF 420EX untuk mendapatkan penggunaan pompa yang efisien. Hasil dari penelitian nilai diperoleh total head loss (HDPE) awal proyek 133,39 m dan target diahhir proyek sebesar 162,75m. Untuk daya komsumsi bahan bakar awal sebesar 96,80 liter/jam dan target 118,79 liter/jam, dengan nilai tersebut dapat dijadikan dasar acuan perhitungan pemompaan yang akurat sesuai dengan anggaran yang direncanakan.

Abstract

Caterpillar engines need to be completely reconditioned or general overhauled after operating and consuming a certain amount of fuel to restore engine performance to its specifications again. However, actual conditions can be faster or slower depending on the condition of the engine itself and operational needs. In the total reconditioning process, all seals, gaskets and bearings are normal spare parts that must be replaced, plus other spare parts that must be replaced based on the results of inspections and measurements in accordance with the guidelines from the caterpillar guidelines for reusability and salvage (GRPTS). The purpose of this research is to find out whether the reconditioned engine has reliable performance like a new engine from the manufacturer and of course refers to the engine performance specification number, as well as knowing the engine characteristics based on the application. The research stage is to carry out the total engine reconditioning process by disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, part listing, assemble, testing and adjusting engine performance specification. And for data retrieval, the engine is tested in the engine dynotest room with loadings of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. From the results of the engine after being reconditioned, it has performance like a new engine and deserves to be handed back to the customer to be operated according to its application and specifications with a maximum power achievement of 800 HP at 100% loading with 1800 rpm for industrial engine applications.

Abstract

The starter motor is a component in a vehicle that functions to start the engine for the first time by converting electric energy into rotary power. Where the motor starter system is used to rotate the crankshaft and then move the pistons so that the engine can start. Generally, cars use an electric motor combined with a magnetic switch to move the pinion gear that rotates to the ring gear and surrounds the flywheel and is bolted to the crankshaft. The starter motor must be able to produce a large moment from the small power available in a battery that has direct current. The purpose of this research is to find out how the mechanism of the starter motor works on the Toyota Kijang Innova 2.4 GA/T.  The research method used is a qualitative method, namely the method used to examine the components of the starter motor on the Toyota Kijangv Innova 2.4 GA/T. The results of this study indicate that the components on the starter motor of the Toyota Kijang Innova 2.4 GA/T  are all in standard condition.
