Abstract

This study analyzes the influences of students’ perceptions about the quality of higher education services to satisfaction; high quality of education services to the loyalty; and student satisfaction to the loyalty on private universities (PTS) in Makassar. The population used in this study was all students of economics faculty that have been studied over four semesters at big four PTS in Makassar. The sampling method used in this study was simple random sampling. The number of samples is 114 people. Both Descriptive Statistics and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) were used as method of analysis. The data processed by using IBM SPSS and AMOS 20. The result shows that the quality of higher education services significantly influence student satisfaction, the quality of higher education services significantly influence student loyalty, and student satisfaction significantly influences student loyalty. Loyalty is more determined by student satisfaction rather than the quality of higher education services.

Abstract

This study conducts a comprehensive review of the literature and develops a framework that links among TQM practices, competitive advantage, and corporate performance.The paper provides empirical support for direct and indirect effects of TQM practices on competitive advantage and corporate performance.The purpose of this research is to empirically investigate the impact of TQM practices on competitive advantage and corporate performance. The study utilized primary data obtained from a questionnaire method. 167 manufacturing companies were surveyed in Makassar, South Sulawesi. A total of 114 completed questionnaires were returned as final sample. Four hypotheses have been developed through literature review and tested using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) by software of IBM SPSS and AMOS version 20. The result shows that TQM practices has significant effect on corporate performance and competitive advantage directly. TQM practices has significant effect on corporate performance through competitive advantage. Competitive advantage has significant effect on corporate performance. Corporate performance is more influenced by competitive advantage than TQM practices.Keywords: TQM Practices, Competitive Advantage, Corporate Performance, Quality Management, Operation Management

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to test and analyze the effect of TQM practices implementation which consists of leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, information and analysis, people management, and process management to quality performance at Sermani  Steel in Makassar. The population were 300 employees and the sample were chosen 150 employees as respondents. Sample technique which used was simple random sampling. Method of analysis which use both descriptive statistic and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Data processing uses two statistic tools i.e : SPSS for windows and AMOS 4.01. The finding of research indicate that : TQM practices implementation which consists of leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, information and analysis, people management, and process management have significantly and positive effect on quality performance. Leadership has dominant effect on quality performance (Critical ratio = 7,860 t-table = 1,960; and probability = 0,000 α = 0,05)

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of satisfaction of farmers towards to the performance of the partnership. The research was conducted at PG Takalar from April to September 2020. Respondents were 75 farmers. The analytical tools used in this research are IPA (Important Performance Analysis) and CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index). The results showed that the implementation of the partnership activities was in accordance with the partnership cooperation contract between the company and the partner farmers. The farmersare very satisfied with the implementation of the partnership with PG Takalar. The attributes of the partnership that greatly contribute to the satisfaction of the farmers are a clear acceptance of the partnership, technical advice, easy access forfund, compliance of payment results, factory locations easily accessible to farmers and communication relationships that established between farmers and sugar factories.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the ef fect among variables of organizational behavior, commitment , and employee sat isfact ion at PT. Bank SulSel Makassar. Thepopulat ion included all employee were 244 persons. There were 122 respondents part icipation in the survey. The respondents were chosen by simple random sampling technique f rompopulat ion. The data used consisted of primary data and secondary data collected by observation, interview, quest ionnaire, and documentat ion technique. Data was analyzed usingboth descript ive analysis, and St ructural Equat ion Modelling (SEM) performed by SPSS forwindows and AMOS 4.01. The results indicated following: (1) organizat ional behavior hadposit ive ef fect and signif icant to employee commitment ; (2) organizat ional behavior hadposit ive ef fect and signif icant to employee sat isfact ion; and (3) employee commitment hadposit ive ef fect and signif icant to employee sat isfact ion.

Abstract

The effective Supply chain management (SCM) has increasingly become an important way to enhance competitive strength as well as business performance. Trust, commitment, and well-integrated supply chain by Information Technology (IT) support are important elements to improve supply chain performance. The objectives of this study are to examine and analyze the effects of trust variables on supply chain performance, trust on commitment, commitment on supply chain performance, information technology on supply chain performance, and effects of trust variable on supply chain performance through commitment variable to Small and Medium Industries (SMIs) of passion fruit processing in Makassar. This study used a quantitative approach, where the questionnaire as main tools for data collection. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis and partial least square-path modeling (PLS-PM). Data computation used SmartPLS 2.0 Software. The results show that trust has a significant effect on supply chain performance, and it also has a significant effect on commitment. Furthermore, commitment has a significant effect on supply chain performance, and information technology has a significant effect on supply chain performance. Trust can improve the supply chain performance by commitment indirectly, and it gives smaller effect on supply chain performance directly than indirectly mediated by commitment. Then, supply chain performance is more influenced by information technology rather than trust and commitment. The results of this study may have implications for the important role of management in maintaining trust, commitment and utilizing information technology in the supply chain system.Keywords: trust, commitment, Information technology, supply chain performance, SMIs of passion fruit processingAbstrakPengelolaan rantai pasokan yang efektif telah menjadi cara terbaik untuk meningkatkan daya saing dan kinerja perusahaan. Kepercayaan, komitmen, dan dukungan teknologi informasi merupakan elemen-elemen penting untuk meningkatkan kinerja rantai pasokan dalam suatu perusahaan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh variabel kepercayaan terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan, pengaruh kepercayaan terhadap komitmen, pengaruh komitmen terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan, pengaruh teknologi informasi terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan, dan pengaruh variabel kepercayaan terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan melalui komitmen pada Industri Kecil dan Menengah (IKM) pengolah buah markisa di Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dimana kuesioner menjadi alat pengumpul data utama. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif, dan partial least square-path modeling (PLS-PM). Komputasi data menggunakan bantuan software SmartPLS 2.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel kepercayaan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan. Kepercayaan juga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap komitmen. Komitmen mempunyai pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan. Teknologi informasi mempunyai pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan. Variabel kepercayaan mempunyai pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja rantai pasokan melalui komitmen. Kepercayaan memberikan efek langsung yang lebih kecil pada kinerja rantai pasokan dibadingkan dengan efek tidak langsung, yang dimediasi oleh komitmen. Kinerja rantai pasokan lebih dipengaruhi oleh teknologi informasi daripada kepercayaan dan komitmen. Hasil studi ini dapat berimplikasi pada pentingnya peranan manajemen untuk konsisten menjaga kepercayaan, komitmen dan pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dalam sistem rantai pasokan.Kata kunci:   kepercayaan, komitmen, teknologi informasi, kinerja rantai pasokan, IKM pengolah buah markisa

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to analyze: (1) how likely the factors of motivation which consists of phyciological needs, safety needs, social needs, esteem needs, and self actualization needs affect to employee performance; and (2) which of those factors would be dominantly affected to employee performance at Hadji Kalla Corporation Makassar. The population in this research includes all employee at Hadji Kalla Corporation. The number of population were 360 persons. There were 90 respondents participated in the survey. The respondents are chosen using simple random sampling from population. The data which using in this research consists of primer data and secondary data that collected by observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. Methods of analyses used in this research both descriptive analysis, and multiple regression analysis which performed with SPSS for windows. The results indicated the following: (1) In simultaneous way, the factors of motivation which consists of phyciological needs, safety needs, social needs, esteem needs, and self actualization needs have significantly effect to employee performance; and (2) physiological need is the most dominant variable that affecting the employee performance at Hadji Kalla Corporation Makassar (t-hitung = 3,883; a = 0,000).Keywords: motivation factors, phyciological needs, safety needs, social needs, esteem needs, self actualization needs, employee performance.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to investigate the TQM practices effect on quality culture, competitiveness, and firm performance both directly and indirectly at Manufacturing Industry in Makassar. Company as unit of analysis in this research. There are 114 companies as sample, where company manager as respondent. Method of Analysis used in testing hypothesis is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Then, qualitative information used to find the addition explanation to support the result of hypothesis examination. The results shows that TQM practices have significant effect on quality culture, competitiveness, and company performance directly. Quality culture has significant effect on competitiveness directly. Competitiveness has direct effect on firm performance. Quality culture hasn’t significant effect on firm performance directly, but quality culture can be able to improve the firm performance by competitiveness. TQM practices can be able to improve the firm performance by competitiveness. While, the indirect effect of TQM practices on firm performance by quality culture aren’t significant.Keywords: TQM practices, quality culture, competitiveness, firm performance

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of marketing mix strategy which consist of product, price, place, and promotion on customer decision of PT. Semen Bosowa in Makassar, and to analyze the dominant factor which influence customer decision of PT. Semen Bosowa in Makassar. Population in this research were the customers of cement product of Bosowa in Makassar. The amount of sample were 100 persons. The respondents were chosen by purposive random sampling from the population. Method of analyses which use in this research were both descriptive analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis. Processing data performed by SPSS 18.00. The result shows that marketing mix strategy which consists of product, price, place, and promotion have significant and positive effect on customer decision, and (2) Product factor has dominant effect on customer decision (t-value = 6,517).

Abstract

The aim of this study was to empirically investigate the effect of critical TQM practices on operational performance of medium and large manufacturing companies in Makassar. The critical total quality management (TQM) practices divided into three factors, i.e. strategic, tactical, and operational factors as predictors of operational performance. Total of popula- tion were 143 manufacturing companies. A questionnaire designed and distributed to all population, a total of 59 returned. It consists of both 29 medium companies and 30 large companies. Data analysis use both descriptive and multiple regression analysis (MRA).The empirical analysis demonstrates several key findings: data analysis reveals that there was a positive effect of critical TQM practices which consists of strategic, tactical, and operational factors on operational performance. Tactical factors were the strongest significant predictors of operational performance. Overall, the results showed the central role of the tactical fac- tors as critical factors in improving the operational performance within medium and large companies in Makassar manufacturing industrial. There were some research limitations. For instance, the study is using perceptual data provided by production managers or quality managers which may not provide clear measures of performance
