Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of worms and their prevalence in cattle and goats slaughtered at the Banda Aceh Slaughterhouse (RPH). The study was carried out by examining the feces for parasites taken directly (rectal exploration) and then examining the feces under a microscope using two methods, namely the Centrifuge Method and the Parfitt & Banks Method. In cattle found 5 types of helminth parasites, namely Paramphistomum spp. (71.67%), Gastrointestinal trichostrongylidae (65%), Fasciola gigantica (45%), Strongyloides papillosus (41.67), and Trichuris spp. (41.67%). Meanwhile, in goats, 4 types of helminth parasites were found, namely Strongyloides papillosus (58.33%), Paramphistomum spp. (53.33%), Gastrointestinal trichostrongylidae (43.33%) and Fasciola gigantica (23.33%).
