The training program is equipped with a video demonstration, conducted online using the Zoom application held on July 30, 2020, with a team consisting of 4 lecturers and 4 clinical students of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Trisakti followed by 30 participants. Participants' knowledge was assessed by pretest and posttest using Google Form. The results of training on maintaining dental and oral health for parents and teachers of special needs children at SLB C Dian Kusuma which were conducted through webinars showed satisfactory results. The mean score of the pretest was 77+22.53 and the mean value of the posttest was 98+11.99. There was an increase in the posttest scores of the extension participants by 22% with changes in the increase in the correct answers percentage from the pre-posttest ranging from 6.6%-45%.

Abstract

Background: Gender determination is an important aspect of human biologic profile identification. The human skull is part of the body that has many gender indicators. Lateral cephalogram is used for human skull analysis because of its morphological biologic details, including gender. Purpose: The objective of this study was to determine the difference of angular measurements, those are sella-nasion-point A (SNA), sella-nasion-point B (SNB), point A-nasion-point B (ANB), gonial, mandibular plane, glabella-metopion and sella-nasion (GM-SN), glabella-metopion and Frankfort horizontal plane (GM-FHP), and glabella-metopion and basion-nasion (GM-BaN) angles measurement’s results between boys and girls aged 8-12 years. Methods: This study was an observational analytic on cephalometric radiographs in children aged 8-12 years from July-December 2018 using 54 samples from the Faculty of Dentistry Universitas Trisakti’s Oral and Dental Hospital Radiology Installation. Landmarks determination and angular measurement were digitized. The data were analyzed to a univariate test followed by a statistical test using the independent t-test. Results: The independent t-test showed there are no differences between boys’ and girls’ angular measurement results (p > 0.05). Conclusion: There are no differences in the angular measurements results between boys and girls aged 8-12 years.

Abstract

Diving Sports activities are very fun, because it is enjoyable. However, this sport is full of risks. If done carelessly, it will cause health problems including dental and oral health. The mouthpiece is the part that is attached to the SCUBA or snorkel equipment. In particular, the use of a mouthpiece has a negative impact on oral health, among other things, it can cause pain in the jaw (Temporomandibular Disorders), as well as transmission of diseases, name it bacteria, viruses or fungi. In 2020, the whole world, including Indonesia, was hit by a global pandemic in the form of Corona Virus Disease 19 (COVID-19) which has systematically changed human lifestyles. The Covid-19 pandemic is now gradually coming to an end. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out counseling and training regarding oral and dental health in the diver community during adaptation to new habits. Training and counseling will be carried out using online methods or distance learning using presentations on how to maintain dental and oral health in the Corona Diving Club diver community. Training and counseling were carried out for 20 community member cadres for 60 minutes, by giving presentations and followed by questions and answers. Increased knowledge about dental and oral health, measured by giving questionnaires before and after exposure to the material. The results are expected to increase the knowledge and abilities of the Indonesian cloth-loving community in Jakarta in maintaining oral health during the adaptation period to new habits during the Covid-19 pandemic. The outputs of this community service activity will be set forth in the form of HAKI PKM video recordings, leaflets and posters regarding dental and oral health care.

Abstract

Oral emergencies are trauma involving the teeth and the supporting structures of the teeth. This trauma can be in the form of open wounds, broken teeth and loose teeth. During the COVID-19 pandemic, mothers had more time to spend with their children, so they were expected to be able to provide quick and appropriate action if their children experienced trauma to their teeth. This empowerment activity aims to increase knowledge and skills in handling oral emergencies. This Community Service activity was carried out by the Trisakti University Faculty of Dentistry Team for Teachers and Parents of Kindergarten Al Hidayah 2 Kelapa Gading on December 1, 2022. Counseling and training were carried out offline using presentations on open wounds, broken teeth loose teeth, and first aid that can be done at home. Training and counseling was carried out to 46 participants for 60 minutes. Participants' knowledge was assessed by pre-test and post-test using Google Form. From the results obtained, it was seen that there was an increase in the knowledge of the counseling participants by 13.5% (mean pre-test score was 28.9 ± 14.6 and mean post-test score was 68 ± 15.3).
