Abstract

Emesis gravidarum is a common complaint made in young pregnancies. Preganancy causes hormonal changes in women due to an increase in estrogen, progesteron, and the realease of the placental chorionic gonodothropine hormone. Emesis gravidarum usually occurs in the morning, but there are those that arise at any time of the night. Feelings of nausea are caused by increased levels of the hormones estrogen an human chorionic gonadothropine (hCG) in the serum. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving a combination of acupressure and ginger drinks at Bandar Setia Village 2020. This type of research is quantitative research, using a quasy experiment design study with the design of Three-Groups Pretests-Posttest design control. The study population was pregnant women who experienced emesis gravidarum in Desa Bandar Setia. Sampling using Probability Sampling technique that is Simple Random sampling by determining the inclusion and exclusion criteria of 45 pregnant women who will be divided into three groups, 15 people for the experimental group who were given acupressure only, 15 people for the experimental group who were given ginger drinks only, and 15 experimental groups were given a combination of acupressure and ginger drink.The results of the study using Wilcoxon test obtained p-value = 0.000 <0.05. The conclusion is there is an effect on pregnant women who experience emesis gravidarum after being given a combination of acupressure and ginger drink.

Abstract

Disinfectant products distributed in Lubuk Pakam vary in types from different manufacturers. The disinfectant ingredients are phenol and quartenary ammonium. The potency of disinfectant for killing microorganisms needs to be evaluated to assure the quality of the products. This study was carried out to determine the effectivity of disinfectant products based on phenol coefficient. Phenol coefficient testing of disinfectant products was microbiologically performed against Salmonella typhi. The disinfectant solutions were prepared by diluting the sample in sterile distilled water in ratio of 1:5, 1:10, 1:20, 1:30, 1:40, and 1:50. Phenol solution (5%, w/v) was used as disinfectant standard. The growth of bacteria was observed at the exposure time of 5, 10, and 15 minutes. The results indicated that the phenol coefficient of product A, B, C, D, E, F, and G were 2.38, 2.00, 3.00, 3.38, 2.38, 2.63, and 3.00, respectively. Statistical analysis using Kruskal-Wallis test showed that the quality of desinfectant products was significantly different (p < 0.05). This study revealed that product A, B, C, D, E, F and G distributed in many supermarket of Lubuk Pakam fulfilled the requirement of disinfectant activity. Product that contain HCl had the strongest activity than other disinfectant products.

Abstract

The basic thing that differentiate both is how to make it, lasting power, and design products. This study aims to determine the level of calcium in the sample of fresh guava, ginger, and nutmeg, and to investigate the mineral calcium levels in samples of fresh and processed products as wet sweetmeat and dry sweetmeat. Each sample must first be destructed by dry destruction, then the mineral assay performed with quantitative assay atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS) using a gas burner nitrous oxide-acetylene at a wavelength of 422.7 nm. The advantage of this method is to have a high sensitivity (limit of detection of less than 1 ppm), and the implementation is relatively simple. Calcium levels in samples of fresh guava, ginger and nutmeg in a row each each sample as follows (7.7105 ± 0.1224) mg / 100 g, (14.5232 ± 0.117) mg / 100 g and (38, 8834 ± 0.6996) mg / 100 g. In the wet sweetmeat guava, ginger and nutmeg for (13.7787 ± 0.4123) mg / 100 g, (22.8345 ± 0.8247) mg / 100 g and (0.2284 ± 0.3759) mg / 100 g. While on dry sweetmeat guava, ginger and nutmeg for (160.9401 ± 0.4223) mg / 100 g, (176.0465 ± 1.0458) mg / 100 g and (120.4426 ± 0.7932) mg / 100 g. Levels of calcium contained in a sample of fresh guava, ginger and nutmeg and sweetmeat processed as wet and dry sweetmeat has different levels

Abstract

Jackfruit leaf is (Artocarpus heterophyllus L) is one of the natural ingredients that can be used as a therapeutic treatment of acne. To facilitate its use the extract is made in the form of a cream. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of anti-acne cream jackfruit leaf extract against propionibacterium acne with concentrations of 30%, 50%, 70%, and 90%. Compounds that act as antibacterials on jackfruit leaves include flavonoids, tannins, saponins. This research method is an ANOVA one way method. The extraction method used is the maceration method. The tests include physical stability test and anti-acne activity test. Physical preparation stability test is carried out every 6 days for 3 weeks. While the anti-acne activity observation test was carried out on Propionibacterium acne bacteria. Based on the observation of organoleptic preparations of formulations 1 and 2 there was no change, while 3,4,5 there was a change. Anti- acne activity test showed that formulations 1 and 2 were more effective than formulations 3, 4, 5 with an average inhibition zone of 9.5 mm.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Buah pepaya memiliki banyak keunggulan selain rasanya yang enak juga kaya akan vitamin C dan antioksidan. Kedua hal tersebut merupakan suatu kajian yang menarik bagi peneliti. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kadar vitamin C dan aktivitas antioksidan dari buah tersebut. Metode: Kandungan vitamin C dapat dibuktikan berdasarkan hasil skrining menggunakan pereaksi Metilen Biru yang menghasilkan warna Biru – Memudar, pada uji NaOH + FeSO4 menghasilkan warna kuning dan pada penambahan reagen KMnO4 menghasilkan warna ungu memudar, sedangkan untuk penentuan kadar vitamin C dilakukan menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis dan analisis aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan menggunakan metode DPPH. Pengukuran kadar vitamin C dimulai dengan penentuan panjang gelombang maksimum asam askorbat yaitu sebesar 263 nm. Larutan pembanding asam askorbat diukur absorbansinya pada lamda 263 nm yang menunjukkan peningkatan konsentrasi berbanding lurus dengan absorbansi yang dihasilkan. Hasil: Persamaan regresi linear untuk kurva kalibrasi asam askorbat yang dihasilkan yaitu persamaan y = 0.0165x + 0.0813 dengan nilai korelasi (R2) sebesar 0.9869. Hasil yang diperoleh pada penentuan kadar vitamin C ialah sebesar 113.33 mg/mL. Persamaan regresi linear yang dihasilkan berdasarkan data konsentrasi buah pepaya terhadap % inhibisi yaitu y = 0.8994x + 8.8905 dengan korelasi (R2) sebesar 0.9703. Sementara hasil pengukuran antioksidan dari buah pepaya dalam meredam DPPH menghasilkan nilai IC50 sebesar 45.7077 yang dikategorikan termasuk antioksidan level kuat. Kesimpulan: Kadar vitamin C sebesar 113.33 mg/mL dan nilai IC50 adalah 45.7077 merupakan antioksidan kuat.

Abstract

Krim lulur merupakan sediaan kosmetik yang bertujuan untuk mengangkat sel-sel kulit mati pada kulit. Salah satu bahan alami yang dapat diformulasikan untuk krim lulur adalah bunga rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) dengan kandungan antioksidan yang mencegah radikal bebas. Tujuan; untuk mengetahui apakah ekstrak bunga rosella dapat diformulasikan sebagai sediaan krim lulur dengan konsentrasi 3%, 6% dan 9%.. Metode; secara eksperimental. Dengan melakukan evaluasi sifat fisik yaitu uji organoleptik, uji pH, uji iritasi, uji daya sebar, uji stabilitas, uji tipe emulsi dan uji kesukaan. Hasil; Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sediaan yang dibuat memenuhi evaluasi sifat fisik yaitu memiliki tekstur semi padat, warna formula F0 putih, FI ungu muda, FII ungu dan FIII ungu gelap. Setiap sediaan memiliki homogenitas yang baik, pH berkisar antara 4,6- 6,2. Krim lulur tidak mengiritasi kulit, Memenuhi persyaratan uji daya sebar. Stabilitas sediaan yang baik, tipe emulsi miyak dalam air (m/a), sukarelawan hanya kurang suka pada sediaan FII (6%). Kesimpulan; ekstrak bunga rosella (hibiscus sabdariffa L.) dapat diformulasikan sebagai sediaan krim lulur dan tidak mengiritasi kulit.

Abstract

Fever is a condition where the body temperature is above normal (Wardiyah et al., 2016). Normal human body temperature ranges from 36-37°C, fever can exceed 37°C (Kurniati, 2016). The purpose of this study was to determine the fever-reducing effect of Katang-Katang leaf extract (Ipomoea pescaprae L.) on rats induced with baker's yeast. The method used in this research is experimental laboratory. The test animals used were 25 rats which were divided into 5 treatment groups, each group consisted of 5 rats. The positive control group used paracetamol 500 mg/kgBW, the negative control group used 1% CMC Na and the EEDK treatment group with doses of 100, 200, 300 mg/kgBW given orally. Mice were induced with 0.2 ml baker's yeast subcutaneously (s.c). Measurements of the rectal temperature of rats were carried out before and after yeast administration after treatment in consecutive tests at 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 minutes. with EEDK at doses of 200 and 100 mg/kgBW, while paracetamol gave a greater decrease in rectal body temperature in rats than at a dose of 300 mg/kgBW. The results of the analysis showed that EDK doses of 100, 200, and 300 mg/kgBW did not have a significant difference with paracetamol at a dose of 65 mg/kgBW (P>0.05). It can be concluded that EEDK has the same effect as reducing fever in rats but not better than paracetamol. Suggestions for further researchers to carry out this research into dosage form and measure its toxicity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the health promotion strategy for community participation in preventing diarrhea in children under five in the working area of the Tomuan Siantar Public Health Center. The method used is quantitative observational with a cross-sectional approach. The results showed that the value of p advocacy was 0.001, social support was p = 0.008, and community empowerment was p = 0.005. In conclusion, advocacy, social support, and community empowerment influence community participation in preventing diarrhea in children under five in the working area of the Tomuan Health Center.
