Abstract

Multicultural-based religious education becomes very important to be applied at schools as well as in society. It is because its present can be a solution of varied disintegration problems in our country. In addition, religious education should strengthen brotherhood among religious society. It means that all schools in Indonesia should provide space and high attention to religious education as well as arising the attitude of respecting each other, because without religion as basic element in life and involve it in conflicts is a contradictive problems based on the principle of religion itself. The objective of this research is to figure out the importance of development of Multicultural-based religious education, its implementation as well as forms developed at schools at SMPN 1 Samarinda and SMPN 1 Sangatta, East Kutai, East Kalimantan. Moreover, this is a qualitative research where it studies about natural phenomenon which rely on fact. In this case, the researcher uses semi-structured interview to capture the teachers’ of religious education subject perception. The result of the study shows that both teachers at SMPN 1 Samarinda and SMPN 1 Sangatta, East Kutai, agree that Multicultural-based religious education in very important to be applied in education, especially to the lower level such Junior High School. The shortage of the application of multicultural aspect in religious education is pointed out in this research as well as the future implication related to Indonesian curriculum.

Abstract

In individual and organizational manner, society has a motivation to establish Islamic education (Pondok Pesantren/ madrasah/ school) in order to meet their needs of education. As a matter of fact, it can be found that the school is built in limited resources. They are supported by the high level of religious spirit. Based on its quantity, percentage of those schools are over than 90% that belong to the society. The rest of them is 10% belong to the government which is categorized as a state school. Spirit of Islamic society to establish educational institution is supported by several things such as, Islamic teaching motive, preservation of parental beneficiary, strengthen of organization (regeneration of human resources empowerment), competition of influence, social demand, messages from the public figures and science development motive. This educational institution establishment motive is certainly has an implication to management and leadership pattern such as management of the institution which is tradition based instead of professional manner based on particular skills such as human skill, conceptual skill, and also technical skills in integrated way. As a result, there is no any fixed plan and also distribution of power equally. Implementation of Islamic education in any motive will get stagnant if it is not professionally and innovatively done. The institution will be exist if there is a change, innovation, professional management, accountability of financial statement, and human resources empowerment. It is necessary for Islamic education institution to have a future oriented thought in order to improve quality of the institution instead of their own group, tribes, and belief.

Abstract

Islamic education, both in the context of education in the mosques and educational institutions, is always considered as a social reformation system which is an effort to strengthen the civil awarness of multiculturilism. Islamic education is being pictured as a kind of dogmatic, doctrinic, and monolitical education which has not multicultural senses. A religion, in one side, shapes a particular type of culture, or even a special culture, so that sociologically frames an exclusivenes. This is a qualitative research. The informants of this research are the employee in the mosques and the teachers. The informants were chosen using snowball sampling. The collection data techniques were observation, interview, and documentation. The data were analized by using Miles and Hubberman’s data analysis technique. The result of study shows that: the mosques, Darussalam Great Mosque and Ilamic Center Mosque, have a role to promote understanding of Islam as kaffah and rahmatan lil alamin. The roles of mosques were implemented by developing mindset and the way of thinking of the employee of the mosques, by developing the comitment of the employee and the participants of the mosques, by instructing the teachers to promote multiculturalism-based teaching.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the creativity skill of children at early age through play by using plasticine in the group of B2 at TK IT Salsabila Samarinda. The type of the research is classroom action research with three cycles. The aspects assessed on the children?s creativity skill are fluency, originality, flexibility and detail. The result of the classroom action research shows an improvement on the children?s creativity skill through plasticine media during the pre-cycle, cycle I, cycle II, and clycle III.  The children?s creativity skill on the pre-cycle is 9% with undeveloped or poor category and 27% on the cycle I with undeveloped or poor category. Then, on the cycle II it increases to 47% with developing or fair category and on the cycle III it becomes 93% with well-developed or very good category. It shows that play by using plasticine can improve the creativity of children at early age.

Abstract

Having a specific excellence that is different to other educational institutions can be an attractiveness of madrasah. This excellence needs to be managed properly to attract societies and as one of benchmarks of educational institution qualities. Educational institutions in East Kalimantan such as MAN 2 Samarinda, MAN 2 Samarinda, MAN 2 Kutai Kertanegara, and MAN Balikpapan have implemented strategic management in managing their excellence. This research aimed to find out the excellence of each madrasah and strategic management to manage the excellence in MA in East Kalimantan. This is Field work Research with qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentations. Data analysis techniques used a qualitative analysis technique consisting of data reduction, data model (data display), and conclusing drawing/verification. Based on data, the strategic management considering the madrasah excellence in East Kalimantan is as following: 1) Skill Program based Madrasah has an excellence in the curriculum contents as elective programs for students such as culinary art skills, fashion (sewing skills), light vehicle automotive, computer science, and welding skills. The strategic management implemented is cooperative strategy to build cooperation with and credibility from business field and industry, 2) Religious Program based Madrasah has an excellence in academic by strengthening religious matters, sciences and technology, foreign languages and yellow book. The forms of strategic management used are cooperative strategy and competitive strategy, 3) Excellent Program based Madrasah has an excellence in the students’ achievements from extracurricular activities, particularly martial arts and scientific writing competition. The forms of strategic management are the combination of cooperative strategy and competitive strategy, 4) Regular Program based Madrasah has excellent achievements in scientific writing competition and Syiar Anak Negeri program. The strategic management developed is professional extracurricular coaching by implementing strategic management of cooperative and competitive.

Abstract

Pendidikan Agama Islam menghadapi berbagai tantangan dalam menciptakan iklim religius di sekolah, baik itu tantangan eksternal maupun internal. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya solusi untuk mengatasi tantangan-tantangan tersebut yaitu melalui implementasi strategi pengoptimalan budaya religius di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk, strategi dan kebijakan pimpinan sekolah dalam pengoptimalan budaya religius di Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) Plus Melati Samarinda. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian lapangan (field work research) dengan desain penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian berlokasi di SMP Plus Melati Samarinda. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan teknik analisis data kualitatif model Miles dan Huberman yaitu kondensasi data, model data (data display), penarikan/verifikasi kesimpulan dan dipresentasikan dengan teknik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pengoptimalan suasana religius di SMP Plus Melati Samarinda dengan membangun mindset seluruh civitas SMP Plus Melati Samarinda, membangun komitmen pimpinan, guru dan warga sekolah, melalui kebijakan strategis sejak awal berdirinya sekolah didesain untuk menciptakan lulusan yang berkualitas dan memiliki imtaq (perilaku religius) yang kuat, mewajibkan semua guru mata pelajaran untuk mengaitkan materi keagamaan dengan materi yang diajar, mewajibkan asrama, dan pendampingan siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kreativitas anak usia dini melalui metode bermain plastisin tanah liat pada anak kelompok B2 di TK IT Salsabila Samarinda. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan tiga siklus. Aspek-aspek yang dinilai dalam kemampuan kreativitas anak yaitu aspek kelancaran, orisinalitas, keluwesan, dan kerincian. Hasil penelitian tindakan kelas menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan kreativitas anak melalui media plastisin tanah liat pada pra siklus, siklus I, siklus II dan siklus III terjadi peningkatan, pada pra siklus diperoleh angka sebesar 9% dengan kategori Belum Berkembang (BB)  atau kurang, siklus I diperoleh angka sebesar 27% dalam kategori Belum berkembang (BB) atau kurang, siklus II naik menjadi 47% dalam kategori Mulai Berkembang (MB) atau cukup, sedangkan pada siklus III mengalami kenaikan menjadi 93% dalam kategori Berkembang Sangat Baik (BSH). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa metode bermain plastisin tanah liat dapat meningkatkan kreativitas anak usia dini
