Abstract

Islamic education as a science faces a pull of the study of dogmatic theological or philosophical studies. So there is an assumption that the study of Islamic education has been adopting Western philosophy and then looked for justification in Qur’an. From this background, it is necessary to the existence of thought that led to the paradigm of Islamic education as a science from the perspective of ontology, epistemology and axiology. In the study of ontology that Islamic education should have a separate study area with a distinctive style of Islamic education that differentiates it from other sciences such as human, educational function, the purpose of education, education curriculum, students, teachers, teaching methods and approaches, and evaluation based on the teachings of Islam. From the aspect of educational epistemology of Islam must have a way to explore and test the truth of such examining values of Islamic education in a philosophical ideal that exists in the Qur'an and the Hadith as well as empirical studies through pragmatic. The level of educational paradigm axiology as a science should have a value associated benefits and goals such as building science to human welfare, educating and directing humans towards awareness of God, and has the social and vocational skills.

Abstract

Institutions of Islamic education in Indonesia today have been growing in many variety. Growth and development are inseperable from the opportunities that surround it. Opportunities of Islamic education development in Indonesia is very large. They are muslim peoples in Indonesia who converted to Islam a-majority, having the concept of a mature theologis, the government is allowing the public to develop the varied Islamic education. However, there are also several challenges, the first is globalization and the development of science and technology, so that Islamic education must adapt to these developments. The Second is academic cultures that are less rooted in academic circles as well as educational practitioners. The third, is the challenge of education among the Reformers, who has always argued that Islamic education is identical with the old-fashioned and backward education. Therefore, the solutions offered that Islamic education should adapt to the technological development, building a strong academic culture and maximize the potential that there is such a stabilization concept operationally.

Abstract

Pesantren Nabil Husein is the biggest pesantren in Samarinda. It is not only because of the wide area of it, but it is also because of the total number of its students as well as its programs. Its students and teachers are from different places and educational background. This study tried to describe the media and the model in the teaching of multiculturisme values at Pesantren Nabil Husein Samarinda. This is a sociological and pehenomenological qualititave research. The data and data sources were from the ustadz, the headmasters, the owner, the managerial staffs, and the students. The data sampling technique used purposive sampling. The data collection used interview, observation, and documentation. The data validation used data triangulation. The data were analyzed by using three stages of data analysis, they are: data reduction, data display, and coclusion drawing. The result of the study shows that: 1) the media used to reinforce the multiculturisme values are the students’ orientation activity, dormitory, ta’lim al-Diniyah, art and culture performances, and halaqah; 2) the model used to reinforce the multiculturalisme values are the action-reflection and action model, ignasian and practice model, empirical model, and rasional model. Based on the findings, it is suggested the dormitory managerial staffs become more intensive in reinforcing the multiculturalisme values especiallyat al-Azhar room, all teachers and managerial staffs should have a same vision in reinforcing the multiculturalisme values, and the non-academical activities should be improved in reinforcing the multiculturalisme values.

Abstract

This research is directed to evaluate the research topics done by the students of teacher training and education faculty of IAIN Samarinda from 2014-2016 which can be used as the references to develop the research quality of IAIN Samarinda. This research was done by applying the quantitative bibliometric. The data was collected by using the documentation of the thesis abstracts of the students of teacher training and education faculty of IAIN Samarinda. The data was analysed by using co-word analysis. The results show that the dominant topics focused by the PAI students to write the thesis from 2014-2016 were about the cognitive, affective, and psycomotoric learning aspects. The topic trend of the Educational management students to write the thesis from 2014-2016 were about the educators and non-educators management, whereas the topic trend of the English department students to write the thesis from 2014-2016 were about the speaking ability of the English learners. The dominant research approaches used by the all three study programs were quantitative research. The suggestions are given related to the findings are: 1) It needs to enrich and enlarge the topics research should be done by the students of teacher training and education faculty of IAIN Samarinda and 2) The students need to learn more about the research methods to improve the accuracy and the validity of the research done by the students.

Abstract

Since the era of STAIN Samarinda to IAIN Samarinda, the characteristics of Islamic studies at IAIN Samarinda has not been crystalized yet. It is an important issue, since the characteristics of Islamic studies in Islamic higher education forms the identity of its image. This study aims to describe the characteristics of Islamic studies at IAIN Samarinda and to formulate the epistemology of Islamic studies at IAIN Samarinda. This is a philosophical qualitative research. The sources of data were from the dean of faculties, the vice-dean of faculties, and the lecturers of IAIN Samarinda. The data were collected by using interviews, documentation, and the study of literature. To validate the data, the researcher used data triangulation. The data, then, analyzed through three stages, namely: data reduction, data display, and data conclusion. The data findings show that the characteristics of Islamic studies at IAIN Samarinda, particulary in the Islamic education study program, tends to implement the multiculturalism-based content. Otherwise, the epistemology of Islamic studies at IAIN Samarinda tends to use ASASI Model (Akademik Sains Islam Malaysia). The implication of this study are: 1) IAIN Samarinda should determine the identity of the characteristics of Islamic studies at IAIN Samarinda, 2) IAIN Samarinda should facilitate the formulation of the epistemology of Islamic studies at IAIN Samarinda, 3) IAIN Samarinda might formulate the concept and the implementaion of science integration both of the aspect of methodology using reflective-conceptual-tentative-problematic and the aspect of its science epistemology using the model of structure of Islamic science.

Abstract

This study belongs to qualitative study focusing on the standardization and typology of boarding schools. The technique of collecting the data used interview, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative covering data display, data reduction, and conclusion drawing. The research finding shows that boarding schools that meet implementation standard are Sabilal-Rasyad, Nabil Husin, al-Husna, Syaichona Cholil, Al-Istiqomah, Al-Rahmah, Asa’diyah, and al-Mujahidin. Meanwhile, the boarding schools that have not met yet the implementation standard are Al-Muna, Najwatul Ula, Hidayatul Mubtadiin, Al-Ittihad, and As-Suniyah. The category of type A covers the boarding schools of Nurul Iman, Al-Aziziyah, and Ar-Rahmah. The category of type B includes the boarding schools of Sabilal Rasyad, Darul Ihsan, MIC Technology, Syaikhona Cholil, Asa’diyah, Ihya’ Ulumuddin, and An-Nur. There is no boarding school in the city of Samarinda that includes in the category of type C. This research implies that the boarding schools that have not met the implementation standard should intensify the management.

Abstract

Islamic education and multiculturalism are connected each other where the content of multiculturalism in national scale includes religious character as one of the core components, whereas in Islamic education relies on commands and prohibitions regarding multiculturalism stated in Alqur’an. Therefore, since intercultural competence and religious character development of students are considered to be important and become one of fundamental objectives existed in national curriculum of 2013 in Indonesia, this research is aimed at conducting Research and Development (R & D) related to developing Islamic Religious course or what so called by Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) in Indonesian context in high schools in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. In terms of data collection, the data gained from observation, interview, questionnaire, and validation techniques. Moreover, five stages of ADDIE model were employed in conducting the development research of PAI materials which includes Analisis, Design, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. As a result, findings showed that material design of PAI teaching is feasible and effective to be used in PAI teaching and learning due to good criteria gained from the validation result from material expert and excellent category from media expert. Students’ responses towards the implementation of product design of PAI teaching materials showed good to excellent result towards all aspect assessment. Highlighting points regarding novelty and pedagogical implication are discussed further in this research.

Abstract

Abstract Innovation in the Islamic education system in the midst of the speed of change in the digital era as a necessity, adequate learning tools in the form of materials, tools and methods are indispensable in improving the quality of Islamic education. The purpose of this research is to describe views about the nature of materials, tools, and learning methods in the Islamic education system in the digital era. The type of research is literature with data analysis techniques of descriptive type with data collection from the google schoolar application. The results of the study illustrate that most researchers have a view of the nature of materials, tools and methods as a mechanism to achieve quality educational goals, which are supported through the integration of the values ​​of the Qur'an and hadith and the use of information technology in them. Keywords: Materials, Tools, Methods, Digital Era Abstrak : Inovasi dalam sistem pendidikan Islam di tengah kecepatan perubahan di era digital sebagai sebuah keniscayaan, perangkat pembelajaran yang memadai dalam bentuk materi, alat dan metode sangat diperlukan dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan Islam. Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan pandangan tentang hakikat materi, alat, dan metode pembelajaran dalam sistem pendidikan Islam di era digital. Penelitian berjenis kepustakaan dengan teknik analisis data berjenis dekriptif analisis dengan pengumpulan data dari aplikasi google schoolar. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa sebagian besar peneliti memiliki pandangan tentang hakikat materi, alat dan metode sebagai mekanisme untuk mencapai tujuan pendidikan yang berkualitas, yang didukung melalui pengintegrasian nilai-nilai Al-Qur'an dan hadits dan pemanfaatan teknologi informasi di dalamnya.
