Abstract

Abstract THE ROLE OF THE JAMIYYAH IJTIMAIYYAH IN THE FORMATION OF TRADITIONS (A study on Jamiyyah NU Subsection Kedung Banteng in the Tradition Change of Mitung Dina in Dukuh Kedung Banteng, Village Wonorejo, Subdistrict Karangayar District of Demak). Nahdlotul Ulama is a religious social organization which follow the ahlus sunnah wal jama’ah, by preserving the society tradition. The Mitung Dina tradition is a tradition of Islam that has been acculturated by indigenous traditions. Mitung dina tradition is a multi colored diversity of NU which has been grown. Technically, the tradition of mitung dina sometimes brings its own burden for the families left behind. Then, it becomes a separate discussion for the jam’iyyah board, to make changes to the tradition became more ease. Based on the results of the research, it can be inferred that the jam’iyyah NU subsection Kedung Banteng has committed changes to the ritual mitung dina or ngajekno in village Kedung Banteng Subdistrict Karangayar Demak regency.Keywords: Jamiyyah NU, mitung dina tradition. AbstrakNahdlotul Ulama merupakan organisasi sosial keagamaan yang berhaluan Islam ahlus sunnah waljamaah, dengan tetap melestarikan tradisi masyarakart. Tradisi mitung dina merupakan tradisi Islam yang telah beralkulturasi dengan tradisi pribumi. Di sini, tradisi mitung dina merupakan tradisi keberagamaan warna NU yang sudah mengakar. Secara teknis, tradisi mitung dina ini terkadang membawa beban tersendiri bagi keluarga yang ditinggalkan. Hal ini kemudian menjadi pembahasan tersendiri bagi pengurus jamiyyah, untuk melakukan perubahan tradisi tersebut menjadi lebih meringankan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa jamiyyah NU ranting kedung banteng telah melakukan perubahan terhadap ritual mitung dina atau ngajekno di dukuh Kedung Banteng Kecamatan Karangayar Kabupaten Demak.Kata Kunci: Jam’iyyah NU, tradisi Mitung Dina

Abstract

This article discusses on contextualist understanding about sunnah or hadith. One of the contemporary Muslim thinker who is studied by muslim scholars is Muḥammad Syaḥrūr. According to Syaḥrūr, the sunnah was the initial ijtihad of Muhammad to overcome the problems that existed at that time, so it must be dynamic. Among the interesting thoughts of Syaḥrūr is his division of the concept of Muhammad's obedience and position. There are two forms of obedience to Muhammad: obedience that is not directly related to Allah (al-thā'ah al-munfashilah) and directly related to Allah (al-thā'ah al-muttashilah). In examining the hadith of the Prophet, Syaḥrūr did not understand in a textuality, but he studied the position of Muhammad when the hadith was spoken. He divided the position of Muhammad into three poins; as human beings, the Prophet, and the Apostle. The Hadith or Sunna will be universally applicable when Muhammad is based as an Apostle. Syaḥrūr's understanding of a hadith is very humanity because he is not directed to sanad studies, but rather to matan hadith.

Abstract

This article tries to explore the concept of shahabat in a book Manhaj Żawīal-Naẓar written by Maḥfūẓ al- Tarmasī. This book is Sharḥ Naẓm Alfīyah al-Suyūṭī (died in 911 H) consisting of 980 stanzas, and is added 20 stanzas by al-Tarmasī, so the total is 1000 stanzas. One of the interesting point to be discussed in hadith study is the concept of shahabat, the first source of hadith. The validity of shahabat becomes polemic between Sunni and Shi’i, especially on the concept of shahabat justice. In the book, there is no new concept of shahabat’s justice in general. Al- Tarmasī only repeats the previous ulama’s explanations in his book. By following the majority of ulama, he states that all shahabat are ādil (fair), but the reality shows that not all of them are ādil (fair). This article has been proved it by quoting some sources. Modern Muslim scholars also ask about the concept of al-ṣaḥābah kulluhum udūl. In some literatures, it has been mentioned some shahabat’s attitudes that did not show the Islamic values. There are many examples of bad shahabat’s behavior, so it can be said that the concept of al-ṣaḥābah kulluhum udūl does not have to be understood that all shahabat are ādil (fair). The appropriate meaning is that some of shahabat are ādil (fair) since “kullu” here is juz’iyah (some), not kulliyah (whole). Keywords: ādil, Maḥfūẓ al-Tarmasī, Manhaj Żawīal-Naẓar, Sahabat

Abstract

This paper examines the origins of ziyâdat al-thiqqah and its institutionalization in hadith studies. The term of ziyâdat al-thiqqah was firstly initiated by al-Bukhârî in the middle age of the third century of Hijrah. At first, ziyâdat al-thiqqah was used to mean as adding sanad (chain of hadith narrators). But later, the term was also used in terms of matn (main text of hadith), which begins to be institutionalized in the 7th century of Hijriah. The goal of al-Bukhârî in setting up the term is to assert that the narrator should only receive the additional thiqqah narrators. This could also be a strategy of anticipation to minimize a counterfeiting of Prophet’s traditions. With the existence of ziyâdat al-thiqqah, it certainly brings influences on the narration of Hadith. This study finds that there are three implications of ziyâdat al-thiqqah in Hadith studies: the reconstruction of the theory of maqbûl, the acceptance of ziyâdat al-thiqqah as a form of variation, and the confirmation of the existence of al-isnâd al-‘âlî and al-isnâd al-nâzil.

Abstract

This article discusses about the five of sunna of fithrah namely khitan (to circumcise), to shave the hair of penis (istih}dād), shave the hair of armpit (natf al-ibt}), cutting the nails (taqlīm al-az}āfīr) and cutting the moustache (qas} al-syārib) in six hadith books (al-kutub al-sittah). These five of sunna of fithrah did by Muslim society although they did’nt know the evidence or hadith. This article also explained about the chain of transmitter (sanad/isnad) and content of the hadith (matn) so we know who and where the hadith of sunna of fithrah. Besides that, this article tried to explains briefly about thats depend on the modern sciences. The modern research of sciences found that if we always do this five sunna of fithrah we will free from the disease, especially cancer, etc.

Abstract

This paper attempts to analyze one of the main topics in the ?Ul?m Al-Qur?n (Quranic Sciences), namely n?sikh and mans?kh or theory of abrogation. The study of this concept is very important for an interpreter to avoid mistakes in understanding the verses of the Qur'an. In general, classical scholars understand the study of naskh in terms of the timing of the decline of verses makk?yah and madan?yah. The polemic between supporters and rejecters of the theory of naskh colored the literature of the Ul?m Al-Qur?n since the classical period to the present. The majority of classical scholars accepted the concept of n?sikh-mans?kh, even as a form of miracles of the Qur'an. Unlike the minority groups who did not accept the concept of n?sikh-mans?kh, for them, all the verses of the Qur'an have their respective contexts. All verses are used because there is no way the verses of the Qur'an can be ignored. However, the past naskh theory was deemed irrelevant by Ma?m?d Mu?ammad ??h? and Abdullahi Ahmed An-Naim. These two Sudanese thinkers put more emphasized on universal basic values ??contained in the verses of the Qur'an. So, it could be verses makk?yah abrogated verses madan?yah. ??h? and An-Naim want to grounded the universal teachings of Islam, and that can be found in the verses of makk?yah, not madan?yah. This is one of the unique thoughts of the two Sudan thinkers. They want to emphasized gender equality, social justice, social transformation, from reluctance to liberation. The point is that they want the basic values ??that are universal to be applied in the lives of Muslim communities, not those that are particular. The verses that contain universal basic values ??was found in the makk?yah, not the madan?yah

Abstract

 AbstractThis research aimed to describe students? mathematical reasoning ability on the solid geometry matter of XII Grade MIPA SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak. The research method used was descriptive and the form of this research was case study. Subject of this research was students of XII MIPA 2 Class which consist 32 students. The techniques of data collection were mathematical reasoning ability test and interview. The results in this research shows that students? mathematical reasoning ability fall into the medium, low, and very low category, because there are 7 students (21,88%) were in very low category, 6 students (18,75%) were in low category, 17 students (53,13%) were in medium category, 2 students (6,25%) were in high category, and no students (0%) were in very high category. Some affect the students mathematical reasoning ability were in medium, low, and very low category because some students have not been able to form a conjecture and gives reason on their conjecture, most of the students can?t mathematic manipulating, and some students can?t finding a patterns against a mathematical phenomenon.Keywords: Mathematical Reasoning, Mathematical Reasoning Ability, Solid Geometry

Abstract

This paper analyzes the opposition or objection of the writing of hadith ini the second century Hijri in Basrah. By using the historical approach and theory of Walter J. Ong?s orallity and literacy, it was found that since the time of the pophet was still alive, the wring of hadith has indeed became a problem among the companions (?a??bah). This continued during the time of the companions, tabi?in, t?bi? al-t?bi??n, untill there was widespread distribution of hadith accured since some champanions lived in Basrah during the caliph of ?Umar bin al-Kha???b (d. 23 H/644 AD). Historically, many prominent scholars of hadith in Basrah refused to wrote the hadith. They prioritize oral tradition that are closely related to the memorization tradition rather than the written tradition. Oral tradition is indeed very visible in the history of the narration of traditions, giving rise to the term ?abi?. This term shows the power of a narrator?s memorization without relying on writing. In addition to demonstrating the power of memorization, scholars who reject the writing of tradition also avoid meaningful transmission. With the opposition of writing hadith, the narrators who are ?iqah or not can be identified.Key Word: Opposition, Writing of the Hadith, Second Century of Hijri, and Basrah.
