Peran kokas pada industri tersebut sangat vital karena kokas dianggap lebih efektif dan efisien untuk meleburkan baja dibanding bahan bakar lainnya seperti batu bara. Industri peleburan besi dan baja di Indonesia yang jumlahnya begitu banyak mendapat supply kokas dari importir luar negeri seperti China. Tidak adanya pabrik pengolah kokas menjadi alasan mendasar para pemilik industri peleburan besi dan baja terpaksa memilih kokas impor untuk dapat menjalankan produksinya setiap hari.Hal tersebut menjadi peluang mendrikan usaha yang sangat luar biasa karena mengingat industri-industri peleburan baja di Indonesia masih bergantung kepada kokas impor.Dalam pembuatan pabrik kokas ini dilakukan studi kelayakan.Analisis kelayakan tersebut ditinjau dari beberapa aspek, yaitu aspek pasar, aspek teknis, aspek manajemen sumber daya manusia, aspek legal, dan aspek finansial, dimana semua aspek dikatakan layak. Dengan target pasar sebesar 7%, PP selama 5 tahun 3 bulan, NPV sebesar Rp.164,347,724,386,- dan IRRsebesar 25.91% maka pabrik kokas layak didirikan.
