THE PHENOMENON OF SLANG LANGUAGE ON FACEBOOK AND TWITTER Zaka, Istifatun

Abstract

This paper describes about the phenomenon of slang language on social network, namely facebook and twitter. Slang in this paper belongs to sociolinguistics study, especially sociolect. This is a descriptive qualitative method, which consists of three phase: data collection, data analysis, and presentation of the result of data analysis. The data were collected by observing the netters utterance. Data were analysed through two phases. First, analyzing the meaning of the slang. Second, was analysing the categories of the slang. There are four point findings in this study. Firstly, the various forms of slang expression units are words and phrases. Secondly, the variety of linguistic processes forming units slang expression are by adding sound, erasing sound, changing vocal, replacing consonant, shifting sound, returning sound, repeating, and changing spell. Thirdly, the source languages of various slang reference units are from national language, regional languages, and foreign languages. Fourthly, the communicative functions of various units of slang expressions are informative function, directive function, expressive function, komisif function, phatic function, and poetic function. Finally, from the finding of those four points in this study, we know that slang language on facebook and twitter has its own uniqueness compared to other types of language.   Keyword: slang, facebook and twitter, forms of slang, linguistic processes, source languages, communicative functions.

Abstract

Penggunaan media pembelajaran yang masih manual dapat menyebabkan siswa mengalami keterbatasan dalam memahami materi, apalagi untuk mata pelajaran yang bersifat praktek. Pembelajaran animasi 2D merupakan pelajaran yang membutuhkan visualisasi agar siswa dapat memahami prinsip-prinsip dasar animasi 2 dimensi secara maksimal. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan agar siswa tidak lagi menganggap mata pelajaran animasi 2 dimensi sebagai mata pelajaran yang menyusahkan dan membosankan. Kegiatan juga memberikan memberikan pengetahuan tentang prinsip dasar animasi 2 dimensi dan memberikan pemahaman langkah-langkah yang harus dikerjakan dalam pembuatan animasi 2 dimensi. Langkah pembuatan animasi ini dilakukan dengan metode Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) dengan aplikasi swishmax. Kegiatan PKM ini dilakukan di kelas XI Multimedia SMK YPM Diponegoro, tenggarong Seberang, Kutai Kartanegara, Kalimantan Timur dengan tujuan agar siswa dapat mempraktekkan membuat animasi 2 dimensi dengan menggunakan swishmax. Kegiatan berlangsung dengan baik dan interaktif. Siswa juga dapat membuat animasi dengan swishmax.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk dan fungsi tindak tutur ekspresif berbahasa Indonesia oleh mahasiswa pembelajar BIPA asal Tiongkok di Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta tahun akademik 2016/2017. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini merupakan kualitatif. Jenis penelitian kualitatif yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah penelitian studi kasus. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Penelitian dilakukan pada tanggal 26 April 2017 di kelas BIPA, yaitu kelas Yunan (Yunan University of Nationalities/Yunan Minzu University/Yunnan Minzu Daxue). Data dalam kajian ini adalah semua kata, frasa, dan kalimat yang merupakan tuturan ekspresif. Data diambil dari sumber data yang berupa percakapan yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa dari Yunan University of Nationalities (YUN). Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui pengamatan dan dokumentasi. Pemeriksaan keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan berbagai cara. Untuk kriteria kredibilitas atau derajat kepercayaan, dilakukan pemeriksaan data dengan teknik ketekunan pengamatan dan pengecekan sejawat. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara induktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dua hal. Pertama, bentuk tindak tutur ekspresif berbahasa Indonesia oleh mahasiswa pembelajar BIPA asal Tiongkok di Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta pada tahun akademik 2016/2017 berdasarkan tataran linguistiknya termasuk tindak tutur langsung literal berupa kata, frasa, dan kalimat. Sementara itu, berdasarkan pengaruh bahasa pertama, dalam tindak tutur ekspresif berbahasa Indonesia tersebut ditemukan adanya alih kode dan campur kode dengan menggunakan bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Mandarin. Hal ini terjadi karena keterbatasan penggunaan kode terutama bahasa Indonesia. Kedua, fungsi tindak ekspresif berbahasa Indonesia oleh mahasiswa pembelajar BIPA asal Tiongkok di Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta pada tahun akademik 2016/2017 adalah menyetujui, membenarkan, mengklarifikasi, mengungkapkan rasa heran, mengungkapkan rasa bingung, mengungkapkan rasa yakin, dan mengungkapkan rasa senang di mana fungsi tindak tutur ekspresif untuk mengungkapkan rasa bingung merupakan fungsi yang paling banyak ditemukan.

Abstract

This article aims to explain the adaptation model of language learning in the 5.0 society era. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The data used a library study on various studies of Language learning in the 5.0 era of society. The data were then identified and analyzed to build an understanding of the adaptation model of language learning in the 5.0 era as a form of response to future learning. The results of this study indicate that the adaptation model of Language learning to the era of society 5.0 is closely related to mastery of the field of Language which is integrated with mastery of the latest Information Technology, and mastery of 21st-century skills, namely creative thinking, critical thinking and problem solving, communication, and collaboration. However, the adaptation process and its results are largely determined by the ability of lecturers, students, and supporting facilities and infrastructure so that they can run well.

Abstract

This paper discusses the philosophy of progressivism in the Indonesian language education curriculum. Education development in Indonesia cannot be separated from various foundations, especially in the flow of philosophy in implementing education. One of them is the educational philosophy of progressivism which underlies various aspects of education. For this reason, it is necessary to study how the philosophy of progressivism has contributed to the Indonesian language education curriculum. This research is a descriptive qualitative method. The research was conducted using library research by searching for previous literature. The research was conducted by examining relevant references related to the philosophy of language, the philosophy of progressivism, and the language education curriculum in Indonesia. The results show that the philosophy of progressivism contributes to the language curriculum, starting from the syllabus, methodology, strategies for dealing with individual differences, assessment, research, and evaluation. In addition, the development of philosophical thinking about language affects the practice of language teaching in Indonesia, namely the existence of Indonesian language teaching based on traditional linguistics, structural linguistics, and systemic functional linguistics.

Abstract

The use of language cannot be separated from social life. People's use of language can be seen in public and private areas. Language as a national identity can show the existence of a nation. Therefore, the use of language in society is one indicator of the existence of a nation. Samarinda, as a city in Indonesia, is known for the diversity of its people. Therefore, research related to language use in the public spaces of the city of Samarinda can provide an overview of the language situation in this city. This research is a qualitative descriptive study and was conducted on outdoor language signs in public spaces in the city of Samarinda, especially in the area along the banks of the Mahakam River. The results of the research show that the use of language in outdoor language signs in public spaces in the city of Samarinda can be divided into 3 groups, namely: 1) Indonesian language; 2) foreign language; and 3) language combination. Language combinations include the use of Indonesian and regional languages, as well as regional languages and foreign languages. Keyword: the use of language, public space, Samarinda City
