Abstract

The provincial government of Bali has continuously encouraged livestock farming communities to form livestock groups especially the cows, through the Simantri program since 2009/2010 and is now known as Sipadu. In addition to this program, livestock groups are also formed independently by livestock farmers spread across Bali, one of which is the “Sato Luwih” livestock group in Kendran Village, Tegalalang-Gianyar, which requires guidance and assistance in empowering the resources they have, namely livestock and waste produced. The livestock group in Kendran village was only formed in early 2020, where its members have different abilities in raising livestock, both experienced and just starting to learn to raise livestock. Besides that, the existing resources in the form of cattle waste have not been utilized, on the one hand the waste still has the potential to increase group income if it is processed into organic compost. The problems faced by the group and group members are the lack of knowledge in the management of animal feed using rice straw, knowledge of technology for processing cow dung, both faeces and urine into organic fertilizer, and lack of understanding of the use of organic compost fertilizer in the farming system. Therefore, through PKM activities, it is necessary to provide assistance and transfer of applied technology to group members, so that the utilization of their resources can be utilized optimally. The methods used in this PKM activity are: observation and group discussion, counseling, and field practice. Group discussions were carried out by involving group administrators to determine the provision of activity materials and implementation schedules. Counseling was given to all group members about making fermented straw feed and making organic cow manure. While the practice is carried out directly by group members, and the results have been evaluated. The results of the PKM show that group members have been able to make fermented straw as animal feed and utilize livestock dung waste into organic fertilizer, so as to maintain the cleanliness of the cage environment. From this PKM activity, it can be concluded that there has been a change in the behavior of group members, namely knowledge and skills, while changes in attitude still need to be carried out by field observations.

Abstract

Kelapa merupakan salah satu komoditas perkebunan yang dapat diolah menjadi virgin coconut oil (VCO)  dan menjadi sumber mata pencaharian baru bagi masyarakat pedesaan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan di Kelompok Pangsan Ayu Desa Pangsan Kecamatan Petang Kabupaten Badung-Bali. Tingkat pengetahuan dan keterampilan terkait proses produksi VCO, teknik pengemasan dan pelabelan dari anggota kelompok masih kurang serta akses pemasarannya juga masih terbatas.  Tujuan kegiatan adalah untuk membantu meningkatkan pengetahuan kelompok tentang teknik produksi VCO yang baik dan benar, teknik pengemasan dan pelabelan serta strategi pemasaran digital. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan metode pendampingan, penyuluhan, praktek, serta evaluasi. Dari hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok Pangsan Ayu memiliki kemasan VCO yang lebih menarik serta pengetahuan dan keterampilan kelompok mengenai produksi VCO secara baik dan benar meningkat, dan pemasaran secara online mengalami peningkatan. Melalui kegiatan pendampingan maka ijin P-IRT untuk minyak VCO yang diproduksi oleh kelompok “Pangsan Ayu” sudah terbit maka pemasaran VCO menjadi lebih luas sehingga pendapatan kelompok meningkat.

Abstract

Accelerated fermentation of coffee husk waste with the help of a fermenter and molasses solution for a certain time can produce compost which is an organic fertilizer product that provides added value and economic benefits for the community. Compost fertilizer when applied to soil can retain nutrients and water, increase the life of microorganisms in the soil and improve soil fertility and crop yields. This service in Belantih Village is carried out through training, counseling, mentoring, and technology transfer practices. The purpose of PKM is to obtain a composting technology package and strengthen group business management that is optimal and integrated with available natural resources. In this Community Partnership Program activity, the process of making compost based on coffee husk waste was introduced with simple fermentation technology. The community's response was very good to service activities at the Widya Pertiwi Women's Farmer Group. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of the participants or the number of questions submitted to the extension team regarding composting technology and its benefits for agriculture. The resulting compost can be applied to agricultural soils to improve soil physical properties which overall restore soil fertility. Considering the benefits and potential of coffee husk raw materials are very abundant, the prospect of developing organic compost fertilizer is very good in the future. The results obtained from this community service are in the form of a technology package for making compost organic fertilizer based on coffee skin waste and improving management through optimal group institutional strengthening and integration with available natural resources.

Abstract

The Provincial Government of Bali continues to encourage community farmers to form livestock groups, especially cows through the Integrated Agricultural System (“Simantri”) program since 2009/2010 which is now known as the Integrated Agricultural System (Sipadu). In addition to the program, livestock groups are also formed independently by breeders spread across Bali, one of which is the “Bhakti Pertiwi” livestock group in Belimbing Village, Pupuan-Tabanan which was only formed in 2021. Assistance in empowering its resources is the management of raising cattle and strategies for providing the animal feed. The problem faced by groups and group members is the lack of knowledge in livestock management, especially in the provision of animal feed. Farmers do not yet know which feed ingredients (grass and nuts) are good to give to livestock. As an agricultural area for rice fields and plantations, it produces a lot of agricultural waste in the form of rice straw and plantation waste in the form of coffee husks which still have potential as animal feed. Therefore, in this PKM, besides being given counseling on cattle rearing management, training is also given on the use of several types of agricultural waste as animal feed ingredients through the fermentation process. The result of this activity is that there has been a change in the behavior of group members, namely a change in knowledge about the types of feed ingredients that are good for the livestock. In changing the skills of farmers through the direct practice of how to make fermented feed, it is hoped that it can encourage farmers to utilize agricultural waste, especially rice straw as feed ingredients that can be stored. Therefore, the next group assistance activity is to monitor changes in farmers' attitudes towards the material that has been given.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of compost and biochar doses and their interactions on the growth and yield of shallots. This research was conducted at the Local Waste Processing Site (TOSS), Kusamba Village, Dawan District, Klungkung Regency, Bali Province. The design used in this study was a factorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the treatment of compost dose (K) which consists of 3 levels, namely: K1 = 5 tons ha-1, K2 = 10 tons ha-1, and K3 = 15 tons ha-1. While the second factor is the dose of biochar (B) which consists of 3 levels, namely: B1 = 5 tons ha-1, B2 = 10 tons ha-1, and B3 = 15 tons ha-1. The interaction between compost treatment with biochar had a significant (P<0.05) effect on the fresh weight of tubers per clump and fresh weight of rhizomes per clump, and a very significant effect (P<0.01) on the number of tubers per clump, but not significant (P≥0.05) to other variables. The compost dose treatment had no significant effect (P≥0.05) on all observed variables except for the maximum number of leaves. Biochar dose treatment had a significant to a very significant effect on the variables of maximum leaf number, fresh weight of tubers per clump, the oven-dry weight of tubers per clump, and oven-dry weight of tubers per clump, and had no significant effect (P≥0.05) on other variables. The interaction between compost 5 tons ha-1 and biochar 10 tons ha-1 (K1B2) gave the highest fresh weight of tubers per clump of 100.00 g which was significantly different or increased by 38.60% compared to the lowest fresh weight of tubers per clump at the interaction of compost 5 tons ha-1 with biochar 15 tons ha-1 (K1B3) is 72.15 g.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of compost fertilizer and NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of Shallots. The second factor is the dosage of NPK fertilizer (M) consisting of 3 levels: (M1) 150 kg/ha-1, (M2) 300 kg/ha-1, (M3) 450 kg/ha-1. The interaction between compost treatment and NPK had a significant (P<0.05) to very significant (P<0.01) effect on all observed variables except fresh weight per clump. The highest fresh weight of tubers was obtained from the interaction between compost 5 tons ha-1 and NPK 150 kg ha-1 (T1M1) giving the highest fresh weight of tubers per clump, 41.44 g, significantly different or an increase of 45.13% compared to the fresh weight of tubers. The lowest per clump was the interaction of 15-ton ha-1 compost with NPK 450 kg ha-1 (T3M3), which was 31.25 g.

Abstract

Infrastruktur berperan penting mengoneksikan antar daerah termasuk pusat ekonomi dengan kawasan sekitarnya. Pemerintah telah menggelontorkan 2T untuk KEK Labuan Bajo meliputi 3A (Atraksi, Aksesibilitas, Amenitas) Seperti penataan TNK, penataan DTW Budaya di desa Liang Ndara, penataan kawasan Batu Cermin. Kementrian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan Republik Indonesia mempunyai program nasional untuk memenuhi kebutuhan kayu dalam negeri dengan 1.000 kebun bibit dan 51 persemaian modern di seluruh Indonesia. Desa Nggorang ditetapkan pemerintah sebagai tempat Persemaian Modern dengan luas lahan 30 Hektar. Desa Nggorang memiliki potensi dan Infrastruktur yang ada tergolong cukup baik namum infrastruktur di Persemaian Modern belum memadai dan memerlukan penataan. Langkah awal dalam pengembangan Kawasan persemaian modern sebagai salah satu destinasi yang berbasis ekowisata, diusulkan adanya beberapa infrastruktur dan sarana pendukung seperti bangunan Loby, pusat souvenir, gazebo dan jogging track yang berada di jalur utama Kawasan persemaian modern. Bangunan loby terletak dekat dengan main entrance dari Kawasan persemaian modern dengan adopsi model bangunan Suku Manggarai yaitu Mbaru Niang. Bangunan pusat souvenir diletakan bersebelahan dengan bangunan loby, konsep bangunannya diadopsi dari tipologi rumah suku Bajo. Untuk Jalur jogging track akan melintasi jalur utama di Kawasan persemaian modern. Panjang jalur jogging track adalah 1500 meter. Di beberapa titik sepanjang jalur jogging track disediakan gazebo yang digunakan sebagai tempat istirahat sementara. Konsep tempat peristirahatan (rest area) adalah Gazebo dengan atap alang-alang dengan struktur kayu untuk menimbulkan kesan natural dan menyatu dengan alam yang ada di Kawasan persemaian modern.

Abstract

Introduction: Bali, as an international tourist destination, is still experiencing problems in waste management. Suwung Landfill, Denpasar, is one of the landfills for waste originating from the Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar, and Tabanan (Sarbagita) areas. Methods: This research was an experimental study, by watering eco-enzymes on garbage heaps and examining changes in leachate parameters. Watering was carried out daily at a dose of 1 L of eco-enzyme dissolved in 1000 L of water and used for watering a garbage pile of 1 ha. The area of piles of garbage watered with eco-enzymes reaches 5 ha. Measured leachate parameters include pH, BOD, COD, TSS, N, cadmium, and mercury. Results and Discussion: Eco-enzymes have the potential to become activators or decomposers in waste composting. The evidence is that eco-enzyme watering causes the average leachate temperature to range from 36.63 to 40.370C, where the increase in leachate temperature occurs due to the rise in the temperature of the garbage pile. An increase in temperature characterizes the activity of microbes increases, so the decomposition process becomes rapid. Conclusion: Eco-enzyme spraying leads to a characteristic change in the form of an increase in the value of leachate parameters. The increase in temperature value, pH, BOD, COD, and N content of leachate indicates that environmentally friendly enzymes accelerate the decomposition of organic matter. The rapid decomposition process causes the total suspended density of leachate to increase.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of biochar and poschar fertilisers derived from livestock manure on red chilli yields and soil organic matter variations. The results demonstrated that the interaction between biochar and poschar substantially affected the fresh chilli pod weight per plant and organic matter content. Applying biochar and poschar organic fertilisers derived from animal manure substantially influenced plant height, fresh fruit weight per plant, and soil organic matter. The interaction between cow manure and poschar from poultry manure produced the highest yield of chilli fruit weight per plant, or an increase of 323.88% compared to the absence of biochar and poschar. The organic matter content of the soil underwent a significant change, with the highest organic matter content resulting from the interaction between chicken biochar and chicken poschar, which increased by 143,00% compared to the control group.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the dosage of Swallow fertilizer and the dose of NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of cucumber plants. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) in a factorial pattern with 2 treatment factors, namely: The first factor was swallow fertilizer consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely: without fertilizer, 10 tons ha-1, 20 tons ha-1, 30 tons ha-1, The second factor is NPK fertilizer consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely: without fertilizer, 150 kg ha-1, 300 kg ha-1, and 450 kg ha-1. Treatment of swiftlet fertilizer doses showed a significant to a very significant effect on all variables observed except for fruit dry weight per plant which had no significant effect. The highest yield of fresh fruit weight reached 732.67 g obtained in the swiftlet fertilizer treatment of 30 tons ha-1. NPK fertilizer dose treatment showed a very significant effect on all observed variables except for the variable cucumber flower exit time, cucumber fruit exit time, fruit dry weight per plant, and dry fruit weight per plant had no significant effect. The yield of fresh fruit weight reached 665.57 g obtained in the NPK fertilizer treatment of 150 kg ha-1. The interaction between swiftlet fertilizer dose and NPK fertilizer dose showed results that had a significant to a very significant effect on all variables observed except for the non-significant effect obtained on the cucumber fruit discharge time and fresh fruit weight per plant. Recommendations for swiftlet fertilizer 30 tons ha-1 and NPK fertilizer 150 kg ha-1 can be used to increase cucumber yields. Keyword: Organic fertilizer, swallow droppings, NPK fertilizer, cucumber.
