Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan proses pelaksanaan diplomasi perbatasan oleh Republik Indonesia (RI)dalam mencapai Provisional Agreement between the Government of Republic of Indonesia and the Governmentof Republic Democratic Timor Leste on the Land Boundary pada tahun 2002-2005. Dalam mencapai kesepakatantersebut, diplomasi perbatasan dilaksanakan oleh berbagai aktor (kementerian, institusi pemerintah nonkementerian,dan akademisi) pada tiga level, yaitu level Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) yang fokus pada penyelesaianmasalah-masalah residual antara RI dan Republik Demokratik Timor Leste (RDTL), Joint Border Committee (JBC)yang fokus pada pengelolaan perbatasan RI-RDTL, dan Technical Sub-Committee on Border Demarcation andRegulation (TSC-BDR) yang fokus pada hal-hal teknis delimitasi batas darat RI-RDTL.Kata Kunci : diplomasi perbatasan, kesepakatan batas darat, RI, RDTL.

Abstract

The objective of this essay is to discuss the potential future of nuclear security in Southeast Asia by examining the roles of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in establishing and maintaining regional cooperation on nuclear security. This essay will first outline nuclear renaissance and security challenges in the region. It will then discuss the steps that have been taken and could be taken by ASEAN to lead the region to a safer nuclear security future.
