Abstract

Garut Regency’s agriculture sector has the most impact on the region’s GDP compared to other sectors. The Central Statistics Agency reports that the agricultural sector’s contribution was 39.11% in 2014 and will be 37.97% in 2020. The farmer’s inability to manage their crop goods is the primary cause of the contribution decline. The study aims to build a prototype of a mobile application information system for planting and harvesting. commodities based on a geospatial information system. The research method used was field surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions (FGD) with farmers, farmer group leaders, agricultural extension workers, and officials at Garut Regency Agriculture Office. The designed application is Sitampan which stands for Sistem Informasi Tanam dan Panen (Planting and Harvesting Information System). The users of this application are farmers, farmer group leaders, agricultural extension workers, and Garut Regency Agriculture Office. Each user will have a specific role and access based on their roles. The public can only see the data contained in this application. In conclusion, this app can serve as a platform for information and communication for farmers. Farmers can use this app as a decision-making tool to manage their crops, including when to sell, plant, and harvest. Hopefully, this application will enhance the welfare of farmers, particularly those in Garut district, one of the industries that have the most impact on the Indonesian agricultural sector.

Abstract

Abstract. The service activities this time will develop the application of technology as well as provide training on automated plant irrigation systems at the hydroponic Wangunsari Farm Lembang. Currently, the irrigation system carried out using manual techniques where all watering activities are entirely using human and problems will arise during the process of providing nutrient levels for planting media and plants. These nutritional needs should be measured accurately to be able to meet the needs adjusted based on changing environmental conditions. Proposals for the application of technology and training in community service activities are carried out through the concept of smart watering with the training method using a collaborative approach that focuses on understanding the work operations of the automation system and interactive discussion learning models to increase efficiency and effectiveness which has been a problem. In its implementation, a system modelling design was carried out by including all training participants together to carry out system testing. The results show that the device can work with automatic according to environmental conditions and the percentage of increased participants shows an average value 60,04 % - 80,05 %. In the future, there will be a real contribution to the development of this technology with a large coverage.  Abstak. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu melakukan pengembangan penerapan teknologi sekaligus memberikan pelatihan tentang sistem pengairan tanaman otomatisasi di Perkebunan Hidroponik Wangunsari Farm Lembang Bandung Barat sebagai mitra kegiatan pengabdian kali ini. Adapun waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dari tanggal 1 Desember 2022 sampai dengan 20 Desember 2022 dengan jumlah perserta kegiatan sebanyak 5 orang. Selama ini sistem pengairannya di sana masih dilakukan dengan teknik manual dimana seluruh aktivitas penyiraman seluruhnya menggunakan tenaga manusia sehingga akan muncul masalah saat proses pemberian kadar nutrisi bagi media tanam dan tanaman. Kebutuhan nutrisi ini seharusnya ditakar secara akurat agar mampu memenuhi kebutuhan yang disesuaikan berdasarkan perubahan kondisi lingkungan sekitarnya. Usulan penerapan teknologi dan pelatihan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui konsep smart watering dengan metoda pelatihannya menggunakan pendekatan kolaboratif yang menitikberatkan pada pemahaman terhadap operasi kerja sistem penyiraman otomatisasi dan model pembelajaran diskusi interaktif sehingga mampu meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas kerja yang menjadi masalah selama ini. Dalam pelaksanaannya untuk tahap awal dilakukan perancangan pemodelan sistem dengan menyertakan seluruh peserta pelatihan secara bersama-sama untuk melakukan pengujian sistem. Hasilnya menunjukan bahwa perangkat dapat bekerja dan melakukan otomatis penyiraman tanaman menyesuaikan kondisi lingkungan serta persentase peningkatan pemahaman peserta pelatihan menunjukan nilai rata-rata diantara 60,04 % -80,05 %. Kedepannya setelah kegiatan ini ada kontribusi nyata bagi pengembangan teknologi pengairan cerdas dengan skala area lebih luas.Kata kunci: hidroponik, smart watering, pelatihan kolaboratif, otomatisasi, pengairan
