Abstract

OPTIMIZATION OF FEED ADDITIVE ON BODY WEIGHT, ABDOMINAL FAT, AND BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS BROILER CHICKEN ABSTRACT   Culture to consume a healthy food as the factor that is very important to produce high-quality human resources.  Broiler chicken is one of food consumed widely, as a source of proteins and fats in large numbers in indonesia for all age (kids and adults). This research aims to  assess the optimization of the feed additive on body weight and blood glucose. The independent variable is giving a variant of feed additive herbs (Aloe vera sp, Morinda citrifolia sp, and Zingiber officinale sp). Dependent variable is body weight, abdominal fat, and blood glucose levels. Variable control of this research is the number of feed, health management, the type of chicken, the age of chicken, and  the system of cage. Some preliminary research has been done by researchers at various variant feed additive herbs to produce broiler chicken with the status of the physiology and performans ideal optimally. The results of this research shows the influence of treatment variant feed additive on increased body weight (P<0,05), There is the influence of treatment against the low blood glucose levels (P<0,05), and no influence treatment of abdominal fat (P>0,05).   Keyword: body weight, abdominal fat, blood glucose, feed additive, broiler   ABSTRAK   Budaya mengkonsumsi pangan yang sehat menjadi faktor yang sangat penting untuk menghasilkan sumber daya manusia Indonesia yang berkualitas. Ayam broiler merupakan salah satu pangan yang dikonsumsi secara luas, sebagai sumber protein dan lemak dalam jumlah besar di Indonesia untuk semua usia (anak-anak maupun dewasa). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji optimalisasi feed additive terhadap performans terhadap bobot badan dan penstabilan glukosa darah. Variabel independen adalah pemberian varian feed additive herbal (lidah buaya, buah mengkudu, jahe). Variabel dependen terdiri dari bobot badan, lemak abdominal, dan kadar glukosa darah ayam. Variabel kendali penelitian ini adalah jumlah ransum, manajemen kesehatan, jenis ayam, umur ayam, dan sistem perkandangan. Beberapa penelitian pendahuluan telah dilakukan oleh peneliti pada berbagai varian feed additive herbal untuk menghasilkan ayam broiler dengan status fisiologi ideal dan performans yang optimal. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada pengaruh perlakuan varian feed additive terhadap peningkatan bobot badan (P<0,05), ada pengaruh perlakuan terhadap rendahnya kadar glukosa darah (P<0,05), dan tidak ada pengaruh perlakuan terhadap lemak abdominal (P>0,05).   Kata kunci: Bobot badan, lemak abdominal, glukosa darah, feed additive, Broiler

Abstract

ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE COURSES BASED ON BIOEDUTAINMENT   ABSTRACT The environment science courses at Biology Education Department used for graduation purposes.  Meanwhile, affective and psychomotor aspects still lacking on the learning outcomes of environment science. Bioedutainment as innovative learning strategies solution needed  for it. This research used One-Shot Case Study design. The results were obtained from the average value of the activities students sheets and post test. Classical outcomes percentage got 93% in E class, 95% at B class, and 100% for A class. The number of students which did not complete were 5 students. Learning activity percentage got medium and high categories at first and second meeting, consist of 87.5% and 92.5% for E class, 82.5% and 85% at B class, and 94.8% and 92.3% in A class. In addition, the lecturer performance percentage got 80% at the first meeting and 100% at the second meeting. The appreciate of students for this learning got 85.7%. The patner lecturer interested in bioedutainment strategies. In conclusion, the learning outcomes of bioedutainment strategies for environtment science had the success criteria.   Keywords : bioedutainment, environment science courses.   ABSTRAK Pembelajaran pengetahuan lingkungan saat ini masih dianggap mahasiswa sebagai pemenuhan tuntutan dalam sistem kredit semester yang harus ditempuh di prodi pendidikan biologi untuk tujuan kelulusan. Sedangkan segi afektif dan psikomotor masih sangat kurang dicapai pada hasil pembelajaran. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan inovasi strategi pembelajaran. Salah satunya dengan strategi pembelajaran berbasis bioedutainment. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan The One-Shot Case Study. Hasil penelitian diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai LKM dan post test dengan menerapkan strategi bioedutainment, pada kelas II E ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 93%, pada kelas II B dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 95% sedangkan pada kelas II A dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 100%. Jumlah mahasiswa yang tidak tuntas sebanyak 5 mahasiswa. Prosentase keaktifan mahasiswa memperoleh hasil pada kategori sedang dan tinggi pada pertemuan pertama dan kedua yakni; kelas II E sebesar 87,5% dan 92,5%, pada kelas II B sebesar 82,5% dan 85%, dan pada kelas II A sebesar 94,8% dan 92,3%. Prosentas indikator kineja dosen mencapai 80% pada pertemuan pertama dan mencapai 100% pada pertemuan kedua. Mahasiswa yang menyatakan senang dan tertarik dengan pembelajaran yang dilakukan pada ketiga kelas mencapai 85,7%. Dosen mitra menyatakan terkesan dan tertarik dengan pembelajaran menggunakan strategi bioedutainment. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar mahasiswa telah memenuhi kriteria indikator keberhasilan pembelajaran dan mahasiswa menjadi aktif dalam proses pembelajaran materi pengelolaan lingkungan yang diterapkan dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran berbasis bioedutainment.   Kata Kunci: bioedutainment, pengelolaan lingkungan.

Abstract

Environmental education was one’s the important factor to successedin Environmental management, it’s also important material humanresources to carried out sustainable development. Scientific Approachwas used in scientific methods teaching and learning. This approachwas expected to made students thought scientific, logic, critical, andobjective. The purpose of this research was created an innovativelearning through Scientific Approach. The subject for this researchwas class 2C, D, and E, of Biology Departement, PGRI SemarangUniversity. It’s used independent variable and it’s also used researchand development (R&D) with modifications. Analyzed data used amixed-method descriptive quantitative and qualitative. The analysisshowed that all variants had same P valued 0.885> 0,05 so H0accepted. H0 means the receipt of a third variant equal orhomogeneous. ANOVA results obtained F count 9.690 compared withFtable with 95% (5% error rate) on the DF1 (number of variable-1) = 2,and DF2 (n-3) or 117-3 = 114, results obtained Ftabel amounted to3.076. Fhitung value> Ftable (9.690> 3.076), then H0 is rejected. It couldbe concluded, there were difference test scores in first class, secondclass and third class.Keywords: environtment education, scientific approach, eco-friendlyattitude

Abstract

Tofu industrial waste has the potential to become contaminant when it is not maximum processed, so it needs appropriate treatment to minimize the occurrence of pollution. β-Glucans can be produced from the yeast cell wall of Saccharomyces cerevisiae.As a feed supplement, β-Glucans have been used for an immunostimulant because it can increase the immune system. This study aimed to establish a suitable technology to produce β-Glucans fromSaccharomyces cerevisiae by utilize tofu waste as feed supplement. The Completely Randomized Design (CRD) model was used in the experimental method. This study used an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) model.The treatment given wereP1: 1kg of tofu waste + 1kg of bran +0.2 kg fish meal + 0.2 lt molasses + 5.5 gSaccharomyces cerevisiae; P2: 1kg of tofu waste + 1kg of bran +0.2 kg fish meal + 0.2 lt molasses + 6.5 g Saccharomyces cerevisiae; P3: 1kg of tofu waste + 1kg bran + 0.2 kg fish meal +0.2 lt molasses + 7.5 g Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Each treatment was repeated 3 times, and fermented for five days.The results found that P1 by Saccharomyces cerevisiae 5.5 g was the best formulation to produced crude β-Glucans by weight of 25.9 g/kg of waste. Production of β-Glucans as an animal feed supplement is a waste-based feed technology development which is expected to increase livestock production both in quality and quantity.

Abstract

Graduates from undergraduate education contributed 6.31% to the unemployment rate. The Higher Education is expected to develop curriculum and learning not only scientifically oriented, but also facilitate life skills for its graduates. This study aims to analyze the profile of students about microbiology learning based on bioentrepreneurship. The research method is descriptive exploratory. The research subjects were 60 students who had taken microbiology courses in the Biology Education Study Program at FPMIPATI, Universitas PGRI Semarang, which consisted of semesters 7, 9, and 11. The instrument was a closed questionnaire with a choice of answers using the Guttman scale. A questionnaire on student perceptions of microbiology learning based on bioentrepreneurship was developed referring to perceptual indicators, namely knowledge and interest in entrepreneurship, knowledge of microbiology, relevance of microbiology concepts, bioentrepreneurship. Indicators developed in 25 questions and validated by experts and valid. The results showed that overall, the average score was 2.17. From each element, the highest average score is the Innovation element (3,4) and the lowest score from organizational creation and growth (1). Based on the data, the bioentrpreneurship profile is still low. Therefore, it is necessary to recommend the development of a learning program oriented towards bioentreprenurship in microbiology lectures.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the effectiveness of membrane transport learning which contains ethnoscience for cognitive learning outcomes and entrepreneurial interests in SMAN 1 Kendal students. The instrument of data collection are question and questionnaire. The results are average pretest score of experiment class is 49,67 and posttest score is 83,50. Besides, control class have 52,17 and 72,33 as average pretest score and posttest score respectively. Both class are classified to medium category based on N-gain value (the value of experiment class is 0,67 and 0,44 for control class). Those class have significant difference result of t test both in posttest score and entrepreneurial interest (p <0,05). The conclusion of this research is that the ethnoscience of salted egg production in membrane transport learning is significantly effective (p <0,05) for cognitive learning outcomes and entrepreneurial interest of SMA N 1 Kendal students. Key words: cognitive learning outcomes, entrepreneurial interest, ethnosains,  salted egg  ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektifitas pembelajaran transport membran bermuatan etnosains terhadap hasil belajar kognitif dan minat berwirausaha siswa SMA. Instrumen pengambilan data menggunakan butir soal, dan angket. Hasil penelitian ini adalah rata-rata nilai pretest kelas eksperimen 49,67 dan nilai posttest sebesar 83,50;  pada kelas kontrol rata-rata pretest sebesar 52, 17 dan nilai posttest sebesar 72,33;  N-gain kelas eskperimen maupun kelas kontrol pada kategori sedang, demikian juga pada kelas kontrol (nilai N gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,67, kelas kontrol sebesar 0,44); uji t pretest posttest kelas eksperimen maupun kelas kontrol menunjukkan berbeda secara signifikan (p<0,05); uji t posttest kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol menunjukkan berbeda secara signifikan (p<0,05); minat berwirausaha kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol menunjukkan berbeda secara signifikan (p<0,05). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah  bahwa etnosains produksi telur asin dalam pembelajaran transport membran efektif secara signifikan (p<0,05) terhadap  hasil belajar kognitif dan minat berwirausaha siswa. Kata kunci : hasil belajar kognitif, minat wira usaha, etnosains, telur asin

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menyediakan bahan ajar yang tepat untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep danklasifikasi tentang vertebrata khususnya Amphibia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Pengembangan yangdiawali dengan tahapan analisis kebutuhan, selanjutnya dikembangkan story board, pengembangan maketgame edukasi, CD interaktif game offline dan buku panduan. Hasil penelitian bahan ajar berupa media GameEdukasi Amphibia telah dinyatakan memiliki validitas aspek media dengan kriteria kelayakan sangat layakdengan skor yang diperoleh 3,5. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan media Game Edukasi “Amphibia” sangat layakdan direkomendasikan untuk menunjang pembelajaran keanekaragaman hewan khususnya materi “ClassAmphibia”
