Abstract

In the learning process, teachers still do not use this learning model due to the lack of available facilities and infrastructure, learning approaches that are still not appropriate, low student understanding levels, and the application of learning methods that are still lacking so that student learning outcomes are low. For this reason, the right model or strategy is needed in learning so that learning becomes more effective, one of the learning models that can be used is the kumon model. The purpose of this study is to find out how the kumon learning model can improve geography achievement in the material analysis and processing of population data in class XI social studies students of SMAN 2 Pekat From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of this learning model is proven to be able to improve learning achievement in Geography processing materials and population data analysis in class XI social studies students of SMAN 2 Pekat. The increase in student learning achievement can be seen through the comparison of student learning achievement between cycle I and cycle II, namely in cycle I, the grade average is 77.8 and increases to 85.6 in cycle II or an increase of 12.46. Learning completion from 77.8% in cycle I to 93.1% in cycle II or an increase of 20.7%, while the average score of student activity in cycle I was obtained by 2.84 who were in the less active category and increased in cycle II to 3.31 who were in the fairly active category. Teacher activity in cycle I obtained an average score of 3.6 which was in the fairly active category and increased in cycle II to 4.6 or was in the active category.
