Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of herbal raw materials and consumer acceptability to  the instan tea. Celery and  aloe vera leaf have an ability to lower blood pressure. The combination of these two herbs are expected to have a synergistic effect in  this instant tea. The formulation tea showed the appropriate with the  requirements and no difference in taste, color and odor in statistic of the three formulations.Keywords:  formulation, celery, aloe vera

Abstract

Tabat barito (Ficus deltoidea, Jack) leaf is believed could be used to treat diabetes. But more scientific data are needed. The aim of this study is to investigate  antidiabetic activity of  Tabat Barito extract by glucose tolerance method. The treatment was given in three doses (50, 100, and 200 mg/kg BW) and two controls using aquoeus and glibenklamid.  Tabat barito extract was obtained by maceration and made into dry extract with addition of starch. The result showed that chemical compound of the ethanol extract were fenolic and saponin. The extract showed effects in lowering blood sugar levels with glucose tolerance methods at 30 to 60 minutes. Blood glucose levels of mice treated with the extract extract ranged between 132.60 to 258.00 mg/dL , glibenklamide ranged from 130.20 to 144.60 mg/dL, and aqua ranged between 227.60 to 260.20 mg/dL. The percentage decrease in blood sugar levels compared to controls is 32.54%.

Abstract

Seiring perkembangan industri di sepanjang sungai Kapuas, dimungkinkan terjadinya pencemaran logam berat pada hasil pertanian. Untuk mengetahui hal tersebut dilakukan penelitian terhadap sampel rempah dari pasar Tradisional di Kota Pontianak. Sampel dikeringkan dan diserbuk untuk diuji kadar logam berat dengan spektrofotometri serapan atom (SSA). Hasil uji dibandingkan dengan standar batas maksimum cemaran logam berat dalam makanan. Dari hasil uji didapatkan data kadar logam berat dalam bahan rempah masih dibawah batas yang diijinkan.

Abstract

Wall paint emulsion is an emulsion of a mixture of pigments, binders and solvents, and other additives that are used primarily for painting walls. This study was conducted to determine the use of kaolin as a extender pigment West Kalimantan in the manufacture of emulsion paint walls. Kaolin is used combined with titanium dioxide with a percentage of 33% , 42% , 50% , 58% and 67% of the total pigment . The best results are obtained on the addition of 50% kaolin with power caps 29m2/L, density 1.40 g/cm3, fineness of 25microns, dry touch 10 seconds, hard dry 20 minutes, 61.99 wt% total solids, pH 7.21, viscosity 107 KU, resistance to alkali and accelerated weather for 600 hours. This was the best result and has met the quality requirements SNI 3564:2009 of emulsion paint.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian tentang lulur produksi UKM Ranata Kosmetik dilakukan untuk mengetahui kualitas lulur dan keamanannya. Lulur produksi UKM Ranata menggunakan bahan bahan alami atau herbal sebagai bahan bakunya. Bahan yang digunakan antara lain buah alpukat, daun teh hijau, buah strawberry, bengkoang dan aneka bahan rempah-rempah. Produk lulur diuji kualitas di Laboratorium Balai Riset dan Standardisasi Industri Pontianak dan LPPT UGM Yogyakarta. Hasil uji dibandingkan dengan pustaka dan peraturan yang diacu. Hasil uji lulur Ranata kosmetik berupa kadar air 9,6621%-14,5430%, kadar abu total 0,3258%- 8,5890%, ALT 25 kol/gr - 2,6 x 102 kol/gr, AKK <10 kol/gr - 1X101 koloni/gr serta ukuran partikel yang bervariasi. Sementara bahan berbahaya dan dilarang dalam lulur tidak ditemukan atau negatif.
