Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the supervision of parents in supervising children using gadgets and how the effects of gadgets on children in PAUD Al-Fatanah, Sinapa Piliang Village, Solok City. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The results showed that (1) Parental supervision was assessed. Of the 41 parents as respondents to the parental supervision questionnaire, they are in the medium category with an average percentage of 64.7%, meaning that there are still 35.3% of parents who have not been able to supervise and educate their children properly, in accordance with the rules and norms. in accordance. In this study, the parental control questionnaire was in the moderate category because not all respondents provided good supervision of children such as parents who did not provide a warm and firm form of supervision, were less willing to accept children's requests, lacked time for children and gave high freedom to children. (2) The use of gadgets in early childhood from 41 parents as respondents where the research results obtained as much as 76.8% are in the fairly high category. (3) Parental supervision with a percentage of 64.7% and the variable use of gadgets in early childhood with a percentage of 76.8%. So it can be concluded that the influence of parental supervision in the use of gadgets in early childhood with an average percentage of 51.5%. This means that it can be concluded that parental supervision is quite influential in the habit of using children's gadgets.
